    Burnout 3: Takedown

Burnout 3: Takedown is a racing game which encourages aggressive driving and lets you use your vehicle to smash your way to the finish line by taking out your rivals and causing massive multi-car pileups. The more cars you take out, damage you inflict, the more events and cars you can unlock. Burnout 3 also has a "crash" mode which puts your vehicle at a variety of traffic junctions jam-packed with moving vehicles and pickups to see just how much monetary damage you can inflict.

Burnout 3: Takedown continues the racing series with more cars, more tracks, a more detailed crash engine, and a multitude of new gameplay modes for single players, multiple players on one system, and online play.

    Some features include:

Crash Mode: In addition to this gameplay element introduced in Burnout 2, Pick-ups have been added. They are scattered throughout the intersections. Some pick-ups will halve, double or quadruple your score, cause massive explosions to cause even more damage, or increase your damage with monetary bonuses.

Sophisticated crash technology allows for high-speed crashes with extreme detail. Use your vehicle as a weapon and takedown rivals, using the new Aftertouch feature to control your vehicle after the moment of impact.

9 Race Modes including Single Race, Tournament, Lap Eliminator, Burning Lap and Road Rage.

Multiplayer Modes include Quick Line, Battle Race, Road Rage, and Party Crash, where 2-16 players participate in a pass-the-controller match-up.

7 Online Modes allow you to race online with up to 6 players. Battle through oncoming traffic in Crash Mode, Single Race, Road Rage, and more.

Over 70 Vehicles in 12 different classes including European exotics, American muscle cars, mid-size sedans, sports cars, compacts, buses and semi trucks.

Over 40 Tracks spanning 3 continents. Take on opponents across a broad range of environments, and experience dozens of traffic-filled crash junctions.

    Catherine

As Vincent, a man recently succumbed to the irresistible beauty of the game's titular diversion, players find themselves swept into a treacherous love triangle. Catherine's core themes those of free will, of the delicate nature of relationships and the choices we make within them, marry perfectly with the intense, terrorfilled gameplay that serves to accurately reflect Vincent's growing sense of anxiety. It is an experience wholly unlike any to come before it, and is certain to leave gamers talking and thinking about Vincent's tribulations long after the credits have rolled.

    Final Fantasy X

Tidus is a young athlete who lives in a futuristic city of Zanarkand - "the city that never sleeps". He plays blitzball, a ball game where players throw the ball while flying around. Suddenly, a terrible disaster happens. A huge dark wave engulfs the city, spawning monsters. Tidus comes in contact with the mysterious creature, and as a result finds himself in a different world, a thousand years into the future. The civilization he is used to doesn't exist any more. He learns that the world he knew was destroyed by Sin, a terrible being that is believed to be indestructible. Tidus meets a young summoner named Yuna, and joins her as a guardian on her quest to put an end to Sin.

Final Fantasy X is Japanese-style role-playing game set in a world somewhat similar to South Asia. Only individual locations can be physically explored; there is no "world map" in the game, and exploration is fairly linear. Enemy encounters are random; the game abandons the series' traditional ATB (active-time battle) combat in favor of a Conditional Turn-Based Battle system, in which the turns of the participants are determined by characters' stats and actions, with turn order displayed in the upper corner of the screen.

The game also departs from the usual leveling up system. There are no character levels in the game: instead, experience points received after battles can be allocated by the player directly to upgrade the characters' parameters. Each character has his or her special "sphere map", with straight or branching paths containing spots that increase the character's personal statistics, or teach him or her active and passive abilities. The characters are given distinct class attributes, and it is possible top switch between all the party members during the same battle. Monster summons (called aeons in the game) now behave like playable characters, have their own hit points (HP), and can fight for the party until defeated.

Conversations that occur during cutscenes have voice overs, for the first time in the series. The game features various mini-games, the most prominent of which are blitzball tournaments.

    Drakengard 3

In earlier times, the world was ravaged by endless war and conflict. The fighting only ceased when five sisters with godlike powers used their song magic to defeat the warlords and bring peace throughout the lands. These Intoners now rule over various parts of the world, where they are adored and worshipped by their subjects. However, there is a sixth and eldest sister, Zero, who wishes to kill her siblings and take their power for herself. One year after failing to defeat the other Intoners, Zero sets out with her dragon Mikhail to kill them one by one.

Taking place about a century prior to the first Drakengard, this game puts the player in the role of Zero, who can be accompanied by up to two AI characters who join over the course of the story. Gameplay is largely similar to other entries in the series, comprised of hack-and-slash fighting on the ground and aerial combat in which Zero rides Mikhail. Performing combos fills up Zero's Tension Gauge, which she can tap into to unleash her Intoner powers. In Intoner Mode, Zero's speed and attack power increase, and she becomes invulnerable to enemy attacks. Zero can use four different types of weapons: swords, bracers, chakrams, and spears, and each individual weapon can be leveled up the more it is used in combat.

  9. Metal Gear Solid 4 is the fourth major installment in the series, developed by Hideo Kojima. It resolves previous plotlines by reintroducing characters from earlier games. The story follows an aged Solid Snake deployed to the Middle East in 2014 to thwart Liquid Ocelot, who aims to control the Sons of the Patriots and build an army.

The game introduces new actions, an enhanced camera, and a redesigned combat system. Camouflage is replaced by Octocamo, and the stamina gauge by a stress meter, affecting accuracy based on combat and climate conditions. Snake has access to a diverse array of customizable weapons.

Gadgets include the Solid Eye (electronic binoculars) and the Metal Gear Mk. II (exploration and stunning robot). The multiplayer, Metal Gear Online, features original modes like "Sneaking Mission" and "Team Sneaking" based on stealth elements.

  10. Def Jam: Fight for NY is the sequel to the out-of-left-field Def Jam: Vendetta.

The game opens with the person you beat in the previous game, D-Mobb, being arrested. As the police are driving, an SUV comes out of nowhere and smashes into the car, setting D-Mobb free. After a quick cutscene, it turns out the person who was driving the SUV was you, and you have now joined D-Mobb's crew.

Fight for NY's story mode takes you through the ranks, and pits you against tougher and tougher fighters. You start off in D-Mobb's crew as a nobody and will have to work your way up, fighting off people from other crews, including D-Mobb's rival, Crow. You'll take part mostly in one-on-one brawls, with the odd team match and free for all thrown in.

To aid you in fighting, you can use the environment to hurt your enemy. You can smash people into wooden/cement walls, fences, or just whack them off of a wooden pillar. Speakers, soda machines, garbage cans... All there to harm your enemy (or you). Some objects are interactive, such as floodlights, which will change the lighting of the ring once someone's been thrown into them. You have weapons at your disposal, usually a metal pipe, pool cue, and a broken bottle.

The crowd also gets into the action, which can be good or bad for you. You can throw an enemy into a crowd and have them push him towards you; you can knock a stunned enemy into the crowd, and they will hold him down, giving you free shots; or you can throw an opponent into a part of the crowd holding a weapon, and they'll use the weapon against him.

There are five fighting styles available to you. There is Street Fighting, which focuses on punches; Kickboxing, which focuses on kick attacks; Martial Arts, which focuses on speed, running, and acrobatic attacks; Wrestling, which focuses on standard wrestling moves, like bodyslams; and Submissions, which focus on wearing down a specific part of the enemy until that limb is damaged enough to earn a submission.

In addition to Story mode, you have Battle mode, which allows you to play with up to four players in different types of matches.

Fight for NY has lots of unlockables. Earning reward points from Battle matches, you can purchase new fighters or venues to fight in.

  11. Panzer Dragoon is set in a distant oppressive future. The Dark Dragon needs to be destroyed, and you, Keil Fluge, are aboard a dragon and armed with a powerful weapon to do so.

In this shooter, you ride an armored dragon on a predefined path with 360º of freedom (you can rotate and zoom in and out). This path takes you through an aquatic setting, through a tunnel and over a forest, and into combat with giant worms, wasps and flies. Each level ends with a boss. In a idea influenced by the film Blade Runner, cutscenes use a fusion language combining elements of German, Latin and Japanese.

  12. Pokémon SoulSilver Version is an enhanced remake of one of the second installments in the Pokémon Main RPG Series, Pokémon Silver Version.

Set in the region of Johto, the player controls a new Pokémon Trainer on his/her way to meet up with Pokémon Researcher Professor Elm at his lab to receive his/her first Pokémon. While running an errand for Elm, the player returns to find that a thief has stolen one of the professor's Pokémon. This event starts your quest to becoming a Pokémon master, leading you through the region of Johto and later Kanto, to battle the mysterious Team Rocket and capture all 493 Pokémon.

Along with retaining most of the original game's features, SoulSilver contains quite a few new updates. Like Silver the story will incorporate the legendary Pokémon Lugia (who can be seen on the game's box art), although this time in a bigger fashion. Graphics have been upgraded to 3D models to resemble the series previous Nintendo DS iterations, Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. The ability to have any one of your Pokémon following you on the Overworld Screen which was limitedly seen in Pokémon Yellow has been added.

Included with the game is a peripheral known as the Pokéwalker. Acting as a pedometer, the Pokéwalker allows you to wirelessly transfer a Pokémon from SoulSilver to it. When there is a Pokémon in the Pokéwalker it gains "experience points" for each step you take. The player also earns a form of money known as "watts", which is used to help catch other Pokémon and buy items.

The game is compatible with the following games via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection: Pokémon HeartGold, Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.

  13. The events of the game take place in the early 1990's. The player takes control of Carl Johnson (C.J.), who had moved to Liberty City in order to distance itself from his past as a member of a gang in his home city, San Andreas. But the past catches up with him in a way he had not imagined: he finds out that his mother was killed by a rival gang. He goes back to San Andreas to attend her funeral. Realizing how corrupted local police is, seeing how his relatives and friends need him, determined to avenge his mother's death, C. J. has no other choice but revert to his old ways.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the fifth game in the GTA series. The basic premise remains the same: roam the "sandbox" environments, hijack cars, and complete missions to advance the story. The game's world is significantly larger than in its two immediate predecessors, encompassing three cities and a vast countryside between them, with smaller towns, mountains, rivers, and other places of interest. The interactivity with the environment is enhanced, since the player character can now swim and dive, being able to access every corner of the game world.

The missions vary in structure and gameplay, including chases, races, longer and more intense third-person shooter sequences, as well as a wide variety of vehicles to navigate, which range from different new types of cars (such as lowriders), bicycles, motorcycles, to boats, helicopters, planes, trains, and exotic devices such as monster trucks and jetpacks. Some of the missions involve recruiting gang members and attacking turfs belonging to rival gangs.

As in the previous games, there are many activities to perform outside of the missions. Working as a taxi driver, taking part in races, delivering sick people to hospital, etc., return from the preceding games in the series. San Andreas adds many new activities of its own, some of them with a role-playing flavor. C.J. can go to gym and work out, increasing his stamina. From time to time he has to eat - though overeating will make him look fatter. He is also able to have romantic relationships with certain female characters, asking them out on a dinner, giving them presents, etc.

  15. In an all new 2D side-scrolling adventure, Mario and Luigi return after nearly fifteen years. The first traditional Mario Bros. game since Super Mario World.

The character models are rendered in real time 3D, allowing for a far greater number of moves ever before seen in a Mario Bros. title. Also as the game is on DS, the touch screen allows players to store an additional power-up and view the distance still to go in a level.

Bowser and Bowser Jr. has kidnapped Princess Peach, and of course, it is up to Mario and Luigi to rescue her and take down the troublemakers. There are eight new worlds to explore, much like in Mario 3: they are Plains, Desert, Tropical Island, Forest, Ice, Mountains, Sky, and Bowser's Lair.

The eight worlds have eighty distinct levels as well as many secrets that will only be found on careful examination. There are also many new power-ups (the mega mushroom and Koopa shell, for instance) for the brothers to collect.

  16. The survival horror experience begins after a prison transport vehicle careens off the road, leaving lone inmate Murphy Pendleton stranded in Silent Hill. Gamers will encounter mind-bending puzzles, as well as horrific creatures and other world terrors using everyday objects from wooden chairs to glass bottles to fend off their enemies. The natural response, fight or flight is left to the player as they unravel a dark, thought-provoking storyline which will appeal to fans of the early, classic Silent Hill series, as well as anyone who enjoys a deep, psychological horror experience. In addition to the main storyline, players will also be presented with variable side quests along the way that can change depending on their play style, revealing unknown evils within the town.

  17. Though a sequel to Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, the direct story links are few. Luso is a young student ready for summer vacation, but forced to stay late and help the librarian Mr. Randell clean up. Luso arrives in the library to find himself alone, but notices a strange-looking book with only half its pages filled. It seems to leave off waiting for a name, so Luso provides his own. All of a sudden he's transported to the other world of Ivalice. From that point on his time is filled with exploring the world, trying to figure out what happened to him, and how he can return.

As in the other Final Fantasy Tactics titles, gameplay is centered around a grid battle between two small parties. Characters take turns one at a time, with order and frequency determined by their speed. In each turn they have the chance to move as well as perform a single action; not necessarily in that order. Battles usually end by defeating the other party, though there are occasionally other goals, such as defeating the leader or examining special spots in a stage in search of an item. As in Tactics Advance most of the battles are optional rather than necessary to complete the story. Battles, as well as other jobs like deliveries, can be accepted at pubs in cities. No longer do you fight other clans directly for control of areas, but annually attempt to earn control of an area through auctions. However, jilted clans may want to have it out with you after.

In Tactics Advance, the Law system was primarily one of punishment. If a character didn't follow the laws (Such as "No magic" or "No ranged weapons") for a given battle, they could end up in jail. In Tactics A2, however, laws are primarily a system of benefit. In each battle you get to pick a stat bonus from a list you earn throughout the game. If you break one of the laws you'll lose the bonus, and fallen characters can't be revived for the remainder of the battle (though they aren't permanently lost). You also won't get extra loot at the conclusion of the battle.

This game retains Tactics Advance's Job and Ability system, where each race (hume, viera, moogle, nu mou, bangaa, seeq, and gria) has access to certain base classes, and abilities are earned by equipping an item and earning Job Points. A difference is that even characters that don't take place in a battle will earn JP. Certain later classes must be earned by having characters learn enough abilities in earlier classes, and/or completing certain quests from the pub.

    ICO

Ico is a boy with horns. At the age of twelve, when his horns grew large enough, the elders send him away to be sacrificed in order to prevent evil spirits from attacking the village. Entombed in a crumbling ancient castle, Ico only manages to begin his escape when a freak earthquake shakes loose the vessel he has been locked in. Ico shortly meets a princess named Yorda, who has been imprisoned by the evil queen. The two children must explore the ominous castle, trying to find a way to escape, persecuted by the queen's shadow minions.

ICO is a third-person perspective game that mixes action-based exploration gameplay with puzzles. The game is set almost exclusively in the castle, which consists of dozens of rooms, passages, platforms, and contraptions. Ico will run, climb, and jump his way through these environments. The puzzles in the game are physical (environmental): Ico must push and pull objects, manipulate switches, re-arrange structures, etc.

Yorda will accompany Ico throughout most of the game. Many of the puzzles revolve around creating a way for Yorda to access special glowing blue doors, which only she is capable of unlocking with her powers. Being less athletic than Ico, Yorda will often need a more comfortable path built for her. Ico can hold Yorda's hand to lead her with him, and also call her to come nearer.

With the exception of the final (and only) boss, all the enemies in the game are shadows. They attack in groups, either at pre-set points, or when Ico is separated from Yorda for a long time. Their goal is always the same: to capture Yorda and carry her towards a black whirlpool. If the player fails to rescue her before she is consumed by this shadow portal, the game is over. Conversely, Ico can not be killed by the shadows; they can only push him, preventing him from reaching Yorda in time. The player must therefore fend off the shadows (Ico uses a stick for the largest portion of the game), at the same time hurrying towards Yorda. Protecting and rescuing Yorda is one of the primary gameplay elements in ICO.

The game has no HUD (heads-up display). Other distinguishing features are the soft lightning visual style, low-key use of in-game music, and conversations through a fictional language, leaving much to the player's imagination.

    Virtua Tennis 3

Virtua Tennis 3 features 20 international tennis stars like Roger Federer, Lindsay Davenport or Maria Sharapova against which you need to compete in the heart of the game: The World Tour. You create your own character and play to reach the number one rank on the world ranking list. Virtua Tennis 3 is not a simulation like Top Spin 2 and only needs three buttons to perform all possible shot. Still time needs to be invested in training the character through several mini-games in which need you to hit a circle on the other side of the net or defeat aliens by hitting them with returns. You can also play as one of the professionals against the CPU or a friend (or two if you play a Double). True to the series of the home version, there are also 12 mini-games available to play against your friends. These include the ones from the World Tour training as well as different ones like Curling or Super-Bingo. The Tournament Mode and Exhibition Mode are also present in the arcade version, but the Challenge Mode has been replaced by the World Tour Mode and Party Mode.

  25. Resident Evil HD Remaster is a high-definition adaptation of the original Resident Evil released in 1996. Developed by Capcom, this remake retains the structure and atmosphere of the original while enhancing visual and audio elements for modern platforms. Initially released in 2002 and later ported to the Wii in 2009, this version brings the classic survival horror experience to current-gen consoles and PC.

Technically, the game features updated graphics, including higher resolution textures and improved character models, enhancing the overall visual fidelity. The environments benefit from enhanced lighting and effects, heightening the atmosphere of fear and tension. The sound design has also been refined, with improved audio quality and spatial effects contributing to a more immersive experience.

One notable addition is the option to choose between original and widescreen display modes, accommodating different preferences. Similarly, players can opt for original or modern gameplay mechanics, catering to both purists and newcomers to the series. Additionally, the game includes bonus content such as extra costumes and access to previously unreleased documents, adding value for fans of the franchise.

While the HD Remaster stays faithful to the original game, offering a polished and immersive experience, it lacks significant new features or enhancements. Despite this, it remains a compelling choice for both longtime fans and newcomers looking to experience a classic survival horror title in a modernized form.

  31. This is the European version of the game modified with the remixed OST of the anime for the Japanese version.

You still think that the best fighting game of the famous manga remains Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3.

You love it because it is very complete in its roster and its gameplay BUT the only big flaw of this game are these horrible American OSTs.

Well your problem is now solved, because this hackrom is exactly the same game as the European version except that the OST is now that of an animated adaptation of DBZ and DBGT.

Now it's up to you to fight Broly to the music of his OAV or the famous music of Bardock when he leads his last stand against the tyrant Frieza.

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 delivers an extreme 3D battle experience, improving on last year's game with over 150 playable characters, improved combat techniques, beautifully refined effects and shading techniques, making the more realistic character effects and more than 20 stages. This is the ultimate chapter in the Budokai Tenkaichi series with over 20 new characters that have never been seen in any other Dragon Ball Z video game such as Nail, King Cold and King Vegeta and stages that fans will love .

Responsible for the main adaptations of Naruto on PS2, at least the most convincing ones, CyberConnect 2 had shown us with the first Naruto Ultimate Ninja that Masashi Kishimoto's manga could, with a bit of imagination, inspire more original softs than simple traditional fighting games. The title takes advantage of a really innovative game system while respecting the universe set up by the author. With this success, the developer found himself struggling when he had to find the elements to renew the concept for the release of the second and third installment. So we end up with an episode that fortunately remains very satisfying from a gameplay point of view, but which is content to stay on his achievements by introducing a few new ideas.

  34. Together with Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl, this game is the 3rd games in the 4th generation of the Pokémon series. Set in a new region, Sinnoh, it includes 107 new Pokémon, bringing the total up to 493. Pokémon Platinum includes for the first time in the 4th generation, the Battle Frontier which can be played on and off-line, make Poffins on-line. Players can collect badges, challenge the Elite Four, and become the ultimate Pokémon master.

The game continues the basic idea of previous Pokémon games - the player, a new trainer, sets out on a quest to catch every known Pokémon and defeat the Pokémon league. Along the way, the player will attempt to foil the plots of the evil organization, Team Galactic, who seek to use a trio of legendary Pokémon to awaken a sleeping titan with the power to control space. There are many sidequests and other activities along the way, the Battle Frontier, expanded on-line options, downloadable content via Mystery Gift, a brand new GTS with the option to receive notifications of completed traded over the Wii, record battle videos, the option to submit one's Pokémon party data for others to see and the Distortion World, which defies the laws of gravity and contains Platinum's mascot, Giratina.

The core Pokémon series features an RPG turn-based battle system. Each monster can learn up to four attacks. In a single turn, the two opponents select their attacks, and the one with the higher Speed attacks first. The amount of damage is influenced by the Attack and Defense stats. In the past, attacks were automatically classified as Physical or Special based on their elemental type. In Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum each attack can be individually categorized, so attacks which use natural elements are Special, and those which use simple force are Physical.

The Pokémon Contests from Ruby and Sapphire return, with many new features. In addition to the attack performance, where the player must try to impress the judge with flashy moves, players will also dress up their Pokémon and dance in time to music. Platinum, as well as Diamond and Pearl, also bring back the real time system from Gold and Silver, where day and night are reflected in your game. Some Pokémon are only catchable during certain times.

    Resident Evil 4

Picking up six years after Resident Evil 2, the fourth game in the series follows former cop (now US agent) Leon S. Kennedy to Europe on a top secret mission to investigate the disappearance of the president's daughter Ashley. As Leon encounters unimaginable horrors, he must find out who or what is behind everything. Old friends...and enemies...lurk around every corner as Leon attempts to find out who is truly behind the kidnapping of the president's daughter.

Resident Evil 4 is a major change from the previous installments. Instead of a fixed third person perspective, the game features a new "behind the back" movement camera angle and an "over the shoulder" aiming feature that allows players to control their gun movement for specific body part hits. It features a brand new AI system and more open environments that allow enemies to work together to capture and corner Leon. Enemies are now humans, which allows them to climb up ladders, open doors, and use weapons throughout the game.

The entire item system has also been revamped, so that smaller items no longer require an entire item space to hold. Instead, items take up blocks of space in a briefcase according to their real life size, to allow for many more items and weapons. Leon can collect treasure from enemies or from the surrounding area, and visit the infamous "merchant" to purchase bigger briefcases, treasure maps, weapons upgrades, and powerful weapons such as the one-shot RPG.

There is also the Mercenaries from Resident Evil 3, which allows the player to play survival scenarios as character such as Hunk and even Albert Wesker himself.

  36. As a wanderer in a town called Kardia, you are discovered by a mysterious girl named "Mist". She, seeing potential in your skills, offers you a house to live in as long a you work and maintain the farmland.

As in other "Harvest Moon" titles, you grow and maintain crops, as well as improve your home with furniture and other items. Your stamina is limited, and every movement you make, whether it be digging, chopping or fighting with a sword depletes this.

A top-view game, Rune Factory incorporates farm-simulation with real-time battling. You can equip weapons and shields, as well as learn and wield magic. Unlike the games in this series previously, you do not care for regular farm animals. Instead, monsters that you capture from the various caverns become yours to use for either farming or fighting.

Again, staying true to the series' roots, it is possible to befriend and eventually marry potential girls in the town. Other features include the presence of variable weather conditions, a "yearly" calender with various set events and seasons, and many side-quests like fishing, and farming within the many caverns.

In the classic story And Then There Were None, 10 people, each with something to hide and something to fear, are invited to a lonely mansion on Shipwreck Island by a host who, surprisingly, fails to appear. On the island, they are cut off from everything but each other and the inescapable shadows of their own past lives. One by one, the guests share the darkest secrets of their wicked pasts. And one by one, they die... Agatha Christie fans, and newcomers to the genre, can look forward to a series of unexpected turns; although the storyline stays true to the original concept, players will encounter new plot twists. The first comes in the form of an 11th character, the player, a boatman who brings the others to the island and then is trapped there himself. To save the lives of the intended victims, the player must unravel the motives behind the murders and uncover the identity of the killer. If successful, he will spare not only the lives of the remaining guests, but also his own.

    Oh No!

A finely sliced raw piece of Japanese programming with gameplay on the brink of insanity as players manoeuvre three characters down the road avoiding obstacles such as the on coming traffic and fellow pedestrians whilst topping up the health metre by munching hamburgers (and avoiding the dangerous puffer fish burgers.) .

Successful completion of a section leads to some bonkers mini games to keep players entertained. Controlling multiple characters is challenging, but adds to the unique feel. Bonus battle and love modes where the boys and girls scrap it out (and vice versa) are the icing on the rice cake.

The game features ten differents stages.

Players will be drawn into the mysterious town using the Wii Remote as a flashlight and a cell phone as they search for clues. 41. Developed exclusively for the Sony Playstation, this fourth title in the Ridge Racer series features new visuals, powered by goraud-shaded polygons, giving each car and track a more refined appearance, while keeping the same arcade gameplay popularized by the first game of the series.

While it includes the usual time attack and a new split-screen versus mode, the focus of the game is the Real Racing Roots '99, Ridge City's three heat, seven race championship, with the grand finale in a speedway during New Year's Eve.

The player starts by choosing one of the four teams available (from easiest to harder): Micro Mouse Mappy, directed by the lovely Sophie Chevalier who hopes to win the first title in many years for the French team to honour her ill grandfather, Pac Racing Team, a recently created Japanese team directed by Shinji Yazaki who expects to create an immediate splash in the Ridge City racing scene, from Italy the RRR champions Racing Team Solvalou, with the demanding Enki Gilbert at the helm, and the American team Dig Racing Team, who has fallen into financial difficulties, with team director Robert Chrisman struggling to provide the driver with a car capable of out-handling opponents.

After picking a team, the player can choose one of the four car makers available: Lizard and Assoluto keep the old RR tradition of cars drifting wildly on corners, but Age Solo and Terrazi offer a new experience with their "Grip" cars that require more breaking and careful trajectories, but are easier to control during turns.

The player earns (and so, unlocks for free play) cars by completing races; however, final placement defines how good the car will be. By scraping through the first two heats (the Final GP accepts nothing but a victory), sponsors will be unwilling to invest in the team and instead of a new car, the mechanics will only upgrade the current vehicle. But winning all races allows the driver to reach the Shooting Hoops speedway with the fastest car. By combining all qualifying placements, 320 cars are waiting to be unlocked.

    Ray Tracers

Ray Tracers is an arcade styled combat racer that runs through checkpoint courses. The game features three large, distinctly themed levels. Points are awarded for destroying nearly any on-screen object, including scenery as well as other cars. Powerful end bosses pose the greatest challenges in each level. Players can select from four high-performance vehicles. The storyline and art style have a strong anime influence.

Ray Tracers is an arcade racing game where you have crash into others cars to destroy them. It is a spiritual successor to Chase H.Q. with some differences like a nitro boost system, four cars to choose from and more variety in end bosses.

You can choose Chase or Time Attack mode:
    - Chase is arcade mode, where you have to go through several missions, ram into other traffic for extra points and fight end bosses. The bosses include high speed dual tanks, a helicopter and other military vehicles.
    - In Time Attack mode you try to set the best lap time on one of four selectable courses, with or without a computer controlled rival.

You can choose from 4 cars, Spanker, Buffalo, Lynx, Hawk. Each of the cars vary in attack power, top speed, acceleration and steering agility.

In "Ray Tracers," players speed through six courses, including sewers, underground tunnels, treacherous canyons and grassy retreats, crashing into any vehicle that gets in their way. While building up points, gamers must also race through tricky courses, saving enough time to beat clever bosses waiting at every turn.

  43. Sanjiyan Henjō is based on the manga and anime series 3x3 Eyes. Pai, a young girl from the immortal tribe of sanzhiyan, three-eyed demons of Chinese origin, wants to become a human again. She meets a Japanese teenager named Yakumo Fujii, whom she accidentally turns into a "wu", an immortal obedient servant of a three-eyed demon. Together, Pai and Yakumo try to regain their lost humanity.

This game can be considered a side-story to the series. The player does not control Yakumo, but an ordinary high-school student named Kenichi Yamamoto. Accidentally, Kenichi comes into contact with the world of demons, and now he needs the help of Pai and Yakumo to be freed.

The gameplay is standard Japanese-style adventure. The player interacts with the game world by selecting menu commands "Look", "Talk", and "Move". The game features animated cutscenes and (in its console incarnation) voice-overs.

    Oni

Inspired by Japanese anime as well as dystopian sci-fi films like Blade Runner, Oni for PlayStation 2 stars a spunky female operative named Konoko as she prepares to battle the Syndicate, a totalitarian regime bent on world conquest. Played from a third-person perspective, Oni features a blend of shooting, hand-to-hand combat, and the nimble movement typically associated with traditional platform games. As players explore the dark cityscapes, warehouses, research labs, and other dwellings of the Syndicate, they will confront numerous armed guards loyal to Boss Muro, the sole leader of the oppressive establishment. To help Konoko in her mission to dismantle the Syndicate piece by piece, players will need to master moves such as jump flips, dodges, disarming techniques, slides, and throws, to name but a few.

Konoko must advance through a total of 14 levels in her attempt to wrest the Syndicate from the iron grip of Boss Muro.

    Raiden DX

RAIDEN DX is another one of the few good PSX shooters, proving that the machine can be good with sprites if you know what you're doing. Proper vertical mode is included for the purists, and there are two remixed soundtracks along with the arcade original ("original release" and "Viper Phase 1").

Three courses are available. Training is a huge level in which you only have one credit (unless you cheat and play 2P) - so it may as well be called "Score Attack" level. Novice has five levels, and may just be plain Raiden 2 as there is some reference to it above the course select bit. Expert mode is a full eight-stage game with entirely new levels (except in that each stage has the corresponding Raiden 2 boss at the end), plus an Extra Stage.

The third option, however, is one of Raiden DX's most noteworthy innovations. The "Training Stage" is a single all-new level, around 15 minutes long and with only one boss, right at the end. Unlike the rest of the game, no continues are allowed, and no 1UPs are available - you get three lives with which to battle all the way to the end, and if you blow it there are no second chances.

After more play, you'll also unlock the Special Stage (yet another exclusive-to-DX addition), in which the nervous player must face all ten of the game's bosses one after the other, with generous power-ups but again without the benefit of continues, in a round which is played not for points but against the clock (you get awarded a "lap time" for each individual boss, and for the stage as a whole should you finish). The only way to get on the Special Stage's high score table is to complete it, a task which will keep even the most hardcore expert shooter busy for many an hour.
