  1. Burnout 3: Takedown is a racing game which encourages aggressive driving and lets you use your vehicle to smash your way to the finish line by taking out your rivals and causing massive multi-car pileups. The more cars you take out, damage you inflict, the more events and cars you can unlock. Burnout 3 also has a "crash" mode which puts your vehicle at a variety of traffic junctions jam-packed with moving vehicles and pickups to see just how much monetary damage you can inflict.

Burnout 3: Takedown continues the racing series with more cars, more tracks, a more detailed crash engine, and a multitude of new gameplay modes for single players, multiple players on one system, and online play.

    Some features include:

Crash Mode: In addition to this gameplay element introduced in Burnout 2, Pick-ups have been added. They are scattered throughout the intersections. Some pick-ups will halve, double or quadruple your score, cause massive explosions to cause even more damage, or increase your damage with monetary bonuses.

Sophisticated crash technology allows for high-speed crashes with extreme detail. Use your vehicle as a weapon and takedown rivals, using the new Aftertouch feature to control your vehicle after the moment of impact.

9 Race Modes including Single Race, Tournament, Lap Eliminator, Burning Lap and Road Rage.

Multiplayer Modes include Quick Line, Battle Race, Road Rage, and Party Crash, where 2-16 players participate in a pass-the-controller match-up.

7 Online Modes allow you to race online with up to 6 players. Battle through oncoming traffic in Crash Mode, Single Race, Road Rage, and more.

  3. It is the 15th century, the time of the Hundred Years' War between England and France. Soon the village is being attacked and finding the first sword she can, she steps forth to encounter the enemy, some humanoid beasts. Jeanne d'Arc is a turn-based strategy RPG game of the Japanese variety, that fuses medieval history with fantasy and the craziness of Japanese anime. This is a well known story retold through tactical battles one after another, while game dialog along with hand drawn cutscenes twist the story into different territories from the original.

It is a story of teen friendship and dedication, remorseless war, evil magic, unavoidable death, heartache abandonment and purifying hope. Jeanne joins the army and along with 14 other companions with different skills and personalities march to face England's Henry VI's troops. With her are other armlet wielders, able to use them and transform into fearsome warriors able to strike down evil at its core. The game features a map to move through locations where the battles which push the story forward happen along with free stages that add nothing more than fun, strong items and difficult bosses.

  4. Kratos makes his first appearance on a portable platform in the third title in the God of War series. Chains of Olympus is a prequel set ten years before the original God of War. Gameplay is similar to the predecessors but with some minor changes. Kratos goes through levels killing enemies and bosses, solving box-based puzzles and doing quick time events. He also collects red orbs to power up his weapons and abilities, Gorgon eyeballs to increase his health and Phoenix feathers to increase his magic power.

The game's controls were adjusted to fit the PSP's reduced amount of buttons. Both the shoulder buttons and the analog stick are now required in order to dodge. The most well-known God of War weapon, the Blades of Chaos, are also present. There are several new weapons and magic spells available, including Sun Shield, Efreet spell and Light of Dawn. The game starts when the Gods send Kratos to the city of Attica to defend it from the invading Persian army. But later when Morpheus strikes, Kratos will need to use all his power to save the world once again.

You explore various legendary Marvel locales, from Asgard, to Prince Namor's Atlantis, where you take on foes with punches, kicks and super powers. 8. Saint Seiya: Soldiers' Soul is a 3D one-on-one fighting game based on the Saint Seiya manga series. There are 48 characters in the game, with different types of skins, and 39 of those were previously part of the 2013 title Saint Seiya: Brave Soldiers. There are two story modes. One is called Legend of Cosmo and follows the story from the 12 Houses arc to the Hades arc. The other one is called Battle of Gold. This mode contains twelve Gold Saints each with their own story segment and match-ups that are entirely new for the series.

In the free battle mode any unlocked character can be selected. Fighting is done in an environment with full 3D movement. Each character has basic moves and specials based on a Cosmo Gauge. Compared to Saint Seiya: Brave Soldiers Cosmos recharges faster now and there are no longer bars. Instead there is now a Seven Sense Awakening bar to access the Seventh Sense mode when it is full. That is now the way to perform Big Bang Attacks, which were previously part of the Cosmo mechanic. Photon is a new type of projectile available for all characters.

The orb system is still present with a new feature called Assist Phrase for a boost when a specific requirement is met. The Cosmic K.O. is a new type of finisher.

  11. Ratchet: Deadlocked is the fourth game in the Ratchet & Clank series by Insomniac Games. The storyline involves Ratchet and Clank, along with Al, being kidnapped and forced to compete in a underground reality show called "DreadZone" run by the media mogul Gleeman Vox on the outer fringes of the galaxy.

The game differs from its predecessors in that it focuses more on shooting than platforming and puzzle elements. The game allows you to use two bots to fight along side you, which can be upgraded over time with better weapons and firepower. There is a total of 10 weapons in the game, significantly less than the other games. However, modding these weapons is more emphasized than before, with different kinds of Alpha and Omega mods. Omega mods can be used on any weapon, and range from the freeze mod to the magma mod. Alpha mods are weapon-specific, and increase the rate of fire, ammo capacity, and power. The game also features online multiplayer.

Clank is not a playable character in this game, although he gives advice to Ratchet over his communication link.

  12. Project Gotham Racing 2 is a single-player and multiplayer racing game focused on style-based driving and progression through international street courses. Players compete to build a reputation as one of the world’s best drivers by racing through detailed recreations of real cities including Chicago, Edinburgh, Florence, Barcelona, Washington D.C., Hong Kong, and Moscow. Unlike traditional racing games that reward only speed and finishing position, progression is tied to a unique points system based on flair and precision behind the wheel.

The game’s central mechanic is the Kudos system, which awards points for stylish maneuvers such as controlled power slides, drafting behind rivals, two-wheel balancing, clean sections of track, and executing 360-degree spins. Accumulating Kudos unlocks new vehicles and events, and riskier maneuvers grant higher scores. This layer of performance-based driving creates a balance between winning races and impressing spectators with skillful technique.

A large roster of licensed vehicles is available, ranging from compact cars and sports models to high-performance supercars. Examples include the Ferrari Enzo, Porsche GT2, BMW Z4, Mini Cooper S, and Pontiac GTO, with additional cars unlocked as players progress. Vehicles differ in handling, speed, and responsiveness, requiring players to adapt their driving style depending on the track layout and event type.

The game features multiple modes, including structured single-player challenges, quick races, and multiplayer competitions. Events take place on courses set within each city, with track designs emphasizing sharp corners, long straights, and distinctive landmarks. Players can compete through local System Link connections or online via Xbox Live, racing directly against others or downloading ghost data from top performers worldwide to improve lap times.

Secondary features include customizable soundtracks, with each city offering its own default playlist while allowing players to create and save their own music mixes. This personalization complements the game’s emphasis on individual style, giving each session a different flavor.

  14. In this Harry Potter game, join him during his second term at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

A dark plot against his "Mudblood" classmates has Harry befuddled as more and more students are strangely petrified. Harry must learn new spells and cast them without mistake to uncover the secrets and solve the mysteries.

In the PC version, the 3D environments are "free-roaming" as players actually become Harry Potter and learn more about his world and personality. Conversations with the various characters and keen observation as you explore are crucial to solving the game. Interact with familiar characters from the movie: Ron, Hermoine and, of course, Gilderoy Lockhart. Additionally, there are multiple mini-games and side quests.

  15. The court jester Dhoulmagus of the kingdom of Trodain stole a powerful magical scepter sealed beneath the royal castle. Using the power of the scepter, Dhoulmagus destroyed the castle, placed a curse upon the kingdom and its people, and turned King Trode into a troll and the princess into a horse. A sole surviving castle guard journeys with the king, the princess, a reformed bandit named Yangus and a few other companions in search of the evil jester and a way to break the curse.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King is a traditional Japanese-style role-playing game with random enemy encounters, simple turn-based combat mechanics, and management of a party consisting of four characters, each belonging to a clearly defined class. Unlike its predecessors in the series and most Japanese RPGs in general, the game features a continuous world with fairly vast landscapes and integrated towns and dungeons, as opposed to world map traveling and locations represented by icons. The game features full camera rotation and optional first-person view. Like in the previous Dragon Quest games, many objects can be interacted with; for example, barrels can be physically lifted, carried, and broken, to reveal items hidden within.

In addition to experience points, the player receives skill points from battles, which can be manually allocated into a skill category of the player's choice. These categories include three different kinds of weapons, fisticuffs, and a discipline unique to each character. After a required amount of skill points has been invested into a particular category, the correspondent character learns a new ability or becomes more proficient with the chosen weapon. The Alchemy Pot system allows players to gather recipes and mix items to create new ones.

The international version of the game features several updates to the original Japanese version, including voice acting, graphic menu, symphonic soundtracks, and flashier effects.

    Ghostbusters II

Loosely based on the movie of the same name, Ghostbusters II sees Virgo the Carpathian appear in New York city. He captures Diana's baby and it is up to the Ghostbusters to get him back. In order to accomplish this, the Ghostbusters: Igon, Ray, Peter and Winston, must chase Virgo through the courtrooms, the sewers, the apartments, the underground and the art museum.

Ghostbusters II is a top-view action game based off of New Ghostbusters II (the second Ghostbusters II license on NES) but with enough differences to be unique. Players begin by choosing two of the four ghostbusters, who all play the exact same. The first one selected is controlled by the player directly and carries a proton pack, the second ghostbuster is follows the first and carries the ghost trap. The objective of each level is to capture a predefined number of ghosts before the timer expires. The player moves up, down, left and right. One button will fire the proton gun directly in front of the first ghostbuster, stunning any ghosts. The second button will toss the trap directly in front of the second ghostbuster, trapping any stunned ghosts. While exploring the levels, any of the 2 remaining ghostbusters (as well as the ghostbusters' accountant Louis) not currently being used will occasionally show up. Touching them will provide power-ups (and often swap with a selected Ghostbuster) including vacuum guns, instant traps and invulnerability.

  20. In the region of Oblivia, a gang of thieves known as the "Pokémon Pinchers" are stealing wild Pokémon and planning to use them for their own nefarious purposes. Two Pokémon Rangers, Summer and Ben, are sent to investigate. However, after an encounter with the Pinchers, one of them is kidnapped while the other is left stranded on an island. There they meet a Pichu with a ukulele, who teams up with them to help rescue its Pichu friends who have also been captured by then Pinchers. Can you rescue your partner, and save the Pokémon of the Oblivia region?

Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs is the third in the Pokémon Ranger series. As with the previous games, you move your character around using a device known as the stylus, as well as battling with a device called the "capture styler" (represented by the stylus). To battle, you encounter a Pokémon on the touch screen, and your aim is to repeatedly draw connecting loops around it until you deplete its health to zero, allowing it to join your team. Pokémon can be used in the environment to clear obstacles and help you progress (such as such as cutting trees, extinguishing fires and so on), or by assisting you in battle and helping you weaken enemy Pokémon. Near the start of the game, Ukulele Pichu becomes a part of your team and randomly appears during battles to assist. If you tap it when it appears, it will jump into battle and play its ukulele, which scatters musical notes around the screen which weaken enemies.

A little bit further into the game, you also gain the help of the Legendary Pokémon dogs, Raikou, Entei and Suicune, first introduced in Pokémon Gold and Silver. These Pokémon have special abilities that allow you to reach places that you normally couldn't (for example, Raikou can leap across large gaps). To summon these Pokémon, you must draw a special sign with the stylus that represents them, but these can only be drawn outside where the sky can be seen.

After a key point in the game, you also unlock the ability to travel back in time with Celebi, which gives you access to wireless multiplayer Pokémon Ranger missions. These missions can be played with up to four players, and Rangers can team up to help capture Pokémon more quickly. This is a great help as each mission must be completed within a certain time for it to be a success. Most wireless missions can also be played solo, but are more difficult this way. You can also earn experience which can be used to increase your capture styler's power, health and speed.

  21. Resident Evil 4 HD is an enhanced version of the iconic survival-horror game, offering upgraded visuals and a smoother gameplay experience. Originally praised for its groundbreaking gameplay mechanics and intense atmosphere, this HD remaster brings the classic title to modern platforms with improved graphics and resolution support up to 720p.

The game follows the story of Leon S. Kennedy, who is sent to Spain to rescue the President's kidnapped daughter. Along the way, players encounter a diverse range of enemies and environments, from eerie villages to ancient castles, all rendered in higher resolution textures for enhanced immersion.

In terms of gameplay, Resident Evil 4 HD retains its signature over-the-shoulder perspective and tight controls, albeit with some refinements for smoother movement and aiming. Quick Time Events (QTEs) add an element of tension to the action sequences, while the addition of a new playable view enhances the overall experience.

Aside from the graphical upgrades, the HD version includes bonus content such as Ada's additional scenario, Separate Ways, previously exclusive to the PS2 version. Players can also unlock a dozen Achievements/Trophies for completing various in-game challenges.

While the HD remaster offers an improved visual presentation and additional content, some may find the lack of significant gameplay enhancements disappointing, especially compared to more recent entries in the series. However, for fans of the original game looking to revisit the classic title with enhanced graphics and additional features, Resident Evil 4 HD provides a satisfying experience.

The game is set in North Korea, where an evil general is diverting all the humanitarian aid to boost his forces and gain more political power in the process, and it's up to the Ghosts to eliminate this threat.

  25. Guardians, known as Denjinmakai II in Japan, is a side-scrolling beat 'em up developed by Winkysoft and published by Banpresto as the successor (and a prequel) of the 1994 arcade game Denjin Makai.

Guardians can be played by up to two players simultaneously. Health gauges are displayed for both player and enemy characters, while energy bars are displayed for special moves.

The controls for Guardians consist of an eight-way joystick and two buttons for attacking and jumping respectively. Pressing the attack button repeatedly when attacking an enemy or multiple enemies will cause the player character to perform a combo. The final blow of the combo can be changed to a throw if the player moves the joystick in the opposite direction just before landing it. The player also can perform a jump attack. When two players play, they can perform team-based special moves.

Enemies can be grabbed simply by walking into one of them. When an enemy is grabbed, the player can perform a grab attack by pressing the attack button or perform a throw by tilting the joystick left or right. A thrown enemy can be tossed at another for additional damage. Items such as weapons, health recovery items, and items awarding extra points can be picked up by standing over one and pressing the attack button. Weapons have limited uses and will disappear if the player is disarmed by an enemy too much or when the player moves to a new area.

    Giga Wing 2

The third game in the Takumi/Capcom arcade shooter trilogy, Giga Wing 2 was originally designed for the Naomi arcade system and later ported to the Dreamcast. It is a top-down, vertical-scrolling shoot-em-up featuring four-player simultaneous action, high-res 3D graphics, and an orchestral score. There are four characters to choose from, each with his own storyline and fighter/spaceship. Each ship has its own weapon type and speed.

Like the previous Giga Wing and Mars Matrix games, gameplay is designed around bullet absorption/reflection mechanics, large numbers of enemies, and giant boss fights. Giga Wing 2 adds the ability to choose from two different bullet reflection powers: reflect force and reflect laser. The reflect force repulses enemy shots, while the reflect laser uses them to charge up a beam weapon.

    Killer Instinct

In the distant future, a monopolistic and technological corporation called Ultratech organizes a fighting tournament known as "Killer Instinct". Many fighters answer the challenge to participate, including several of Ultratech's experimental warriors. To increase the tournament's challenge, Ultratech utilizes a technology that can create bridges between alternate dimensions, releasing a creature known as Eyedol. Eyedol is a two-headed ancient warrior that was imprisoned along with his bitter rival, Gargos. Some warriors enter the tournament to seek glory or escape. Other fighters are attempting to bring an end to Ultratech's corruption.

Killer Instinct is a 2D versus fighting game that features 3D rendered sprite based graphics. 29. Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse is a remake of the Genesis game of the same name. Mickey and Minnie are out for a picnic when Minnie is kidnapped by the witch Mizrabel. Now Mickey has to travel through five worlds in order to rescue her.

This is a side-scrolling platformer in which Mickey jumps over obstacles and evades enemies in order to stay alive. Mickey can defeat enemies by hopping on them or using projectiles he picks up on the way. The levels are loosely based on the old ones but feature various level design differences, new setpieces and enhanced boss fights. Besides beating the game, players can explore the levels for secrets (unlock additional costumes) or tackle the levels in time-attack mode.

  30. Spider-Man: Web of Shadows has both similarities and differences compared to previous Spider-Man games. It starts with Spider-Man gaining symbiote powers from a fight with Venom. With the help of Luke Cage, he trains to battle city gangs. The city falls into chaos as the symbiote spreads, controlling people. Spider-Man embarks on a mission to save New York.

Swinging through the city, Spider-Man fights bad guys using red or black suits, each with unique abilities. Your choice of suit doesn't affect the game's outcome, but moral decisions do. These choices shape the story and lead to different endings. Earning points upgrades Spider-Man's moves.

  31. Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days (pronounced Kingdom Hearts Three-Five-Eight Days over Two) follows the story of Roxas during his time in Organization XIII. The game mainly consists of Roxas doing missions for the Organization by going to various worlds (such as Twilight Town, The Beast's Castle, Agrabah, etc.) to collect hearts by defeating the Heartless, gather intel, and collect Organization Emblems. The story will explain Roxas' origins from the moment of his creation at the end of Kingdom Hearts to the point when he is placed in the virtual Twilight Town before Kingdom Hearts II.

All missions are started in "The Grey Area", one of the Organization's Headquarters, in which Roxas can equip different "panels" to boost his level, gain new abilities and magic spells, or bring items to use on his missions. Munny (currency in Kingdom Hearts games) and Heart Points can be spent at the Moogle Shop to acquire more panels to equip in the panel grid.

All completed missions can be played again by using the holo-mission option in the menu. Some missions also unlock some challenge modes (in which you must complete the same mission under certain conditions such as jumping as few as possible, collecting more hearts or munny, or doing it really fast) and some can also be played in mission mode. The mission mode is accessed from the start menu and allows multiple player to collaborate and compete with each other. They can use any of the Organization's members and the player who accumulates the most points wins Crown Emblems.

    Twisted Metal

Every year, a mysterious man named Calypso sends e-mails to renowned drivers, inviting them to compete in a tournament called Twisted Metal. The conditions of the tournament are anything but ordinary: opponents fight each other in armored vehicles with mounted weapons. The winner receives an audience with Calypso, and is granted a single wish - a wish without limits, be it money, power, or even our reality itself. In 2005, the annual tournament is held again in Los Angeles, and twelve drivers, each with his own agenda, have come to compete to death.

Twisted Metal is a vehicular combat game. The player selects one of the twelve available drivers and takes part in the competition. In the one-player story mode, the player must progress through six combat stages; all the opponents must be destroyed in order to win the race. In the two-player co-op mode, players choose a battlefield and control two cars in an attempt to get rid of the competition.

All the vehicles are equipped with two mounted machine guns; though relatively weak, they have unlimited ammunition. Other weapons can be picked up by driving over them during the races. These include fire and homing missiles, land mines, tire spikes, and others. Each participant has a life bar, which can be replenished by entering a specific area on the stage.

  35. The girls of Ryōran School for Young Women are back for their first and only official release on the SEGA Saturn. New contenders in the inter-school tournament this semester include Asuka's mentor, Tetsuko, and, as an unlockable extra, the principal of the school himself!

Asuka 120% Limited doesn't add any new systems to the series, instead focusing on changing and tweaking moves to better balance the fighters. Character sprites are larger in comparison to the previous PlayStation entry, but like most SEGA Saturn games true transparencies were removed. The story mode is a standard linear fight to fight affair with text dialog in between matches. Versus mode includes options for Player vs CPU, Player vs Player, and exhibition CPU vs CPU. The final game mode is a survival mode where the player fights each character in turn, and health is restored based upon their score during the fight.

    Legend of Mana

A twinkling consciousness became a star that sparkled in the night and banished the darkness. The Mana Goddess acquired consciousness by gazing into the light of that sun. She made Fa'Diel, a great land, but so far an empty one.

In Legend of Mana the player controls a hero or heroine traveling over the land of Fa'Diel. The game features a land creation system, allowing the player to create new locations and story elements by placing mysterious artifacts. Those ancient artifacts are repositories of the land's long-forgotten memories and the many events that once took place there. As the game advances, the player will receive more artifacts and find out more about the land. It is also possible raise pet monsters and create powerful golems, forge mighty weapons or refine musical instruments.

The game is non-linear in terms of gameplay, allowing the player to visit areas in any order and play through 67 related scenarios. There is, however, no continuous world to explore, and each scenario is confined to a particular area. Like in the previous games in the series, combat is action-based, but in this installment it takes place on separate side-scrolling screens. AI-controlled characters can fight alongside the protagonist in some of the scenarios.

    Elemental Master

Elemental Master's gameplay is similar to a top-down space shooter (i.e Raptor & Raiden), but what makes it unique is the fact you play as a human instead of space-ship.

There are different kinds of weapons which you can use. Like other games in the genre you also have tons of strange enemies to destroy.

    Virtua Tennis 3

Virtua Tennis 3 features 20 international tennis stars like Roger Federer, Lindsay Davenport or Maria Sharapova against which you need to compete in the heart of the game: The World Tour. You create your own character and play to reach the number one rank on the world ranking list.

Virtua Tennis 3 is not a simulation like Top Spin 2 and only needs three buttons to perform all possible shot. Still time needs to be invested in training the character through several mini-games in which need you to hit a circle on the other side of the net or defeat aliens by hitting them with returns.

You can also play as one of the professionals against the CPU or a friend (or two if you play a Double). True to the series of the home version, there are also 12 mini-games available to play against your friends. These include the ones from the World Tour training as well as different ones like Curling or Super-Bingo. The Tournament Mode and Exhibition Mode are also present in the arcade version, but the Challenge Mode has been replaced by the World Tour Mode and Party Mode.

  44. Mega Man X teams up with Zero in a traditional console RPG. The game was developed by the same people who did Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter. Unlike most RPGs the storyline is very similar to the traditional side-scrolling Mega Man games. In addition, the game is shorter than most RPGs. The basic plot of the game is to save Giga City from the rioting of the Liberion Army. As the game progresses you have around 7 members. With a metal called Force Metal, your characters can upgrade various elements. The Gamecube version lets you link up to Game Boy Advance so you can use the GBA as a treasure hunter locater. The PS2 version contains a Mega Man X8 Demo.

    Whirl Tour

During a concert of band "Flipside" you're a roadie of, a portal to a new dimension opens and sucks the band in. Being the ever-loyal roadie, you grab your trusty scooter and set off to free them.

Throughout many levels, you will now have to defeat monsters - using a wide array of tricks and stunts with your scooter. As you progress, you'll learn more tricks and gain access to different scooters.

An extreme sport game with many nods towards Tony Hawk, however in a jolly cartoony setting.

    Red Faction II

Long since the revolt from the mining of Mars, a new group has taken over Red Faction, and their sights are set on the dictator, Chancellor Sopot. Sopot originally created the Red Faction soldiers using a form of nano technology but, fearing they would fight back, ordered them to be destroyed.

As the leader of the group, your task is to take back freedom that was lost, and save your skin as well as that of those who work with you.

As was originally designed in the first Red Faction, Geo-Mod builds the world around you as a means to destroy it. Using rockets, mines and the many other weapons available, you can take down walls, blast through doors (therefore deleting the need for a security key) and bring down enemies by destroying the floor that they stand on. Vehicles can also be used to help in your tasks.

Multiplayer modes are also included for up to 4 players, as well as a collection of bots. As a note, the PC version does not have multiplayer.

    Red Faction

The Ultor Corporation of Mars is successful because of the mineral wealth of that planet. It employs a number of miners and scientists to mine the Noachite ores far underground. The miners are constantly pressured by the guards to work harder and faster, while at the same time being forced to share their meager resources. While the mines itself are dangerous, so too is the mysterious plague that has broken out among the ranks of miners, killing many. Into this low morale situation, propaganda against Ultor has begun appearing, signed only by "Eos". These pamphlets and posters urge the miners to rise up against their oppressors and take a stand, also recruiting members into their secretive "Red Faction". As a result of Eos' efforts, tensions are rising high between the Ultor corporation and its workers, any little incident could ignite...

Red Faction is a first-person shooter. Players take the role of Parker, a miner working underground for the Ultor Corporation. Equipped in an environment suit, Parker is protected from various hazards and able to breathe deep in the mines and in airless locations. At times, Parker also needs to travel undercover in a less protective disguise. Parker defends himself with a variety of weapons, most of which feature a primary and secondary firing mode. The weapons are divided into: hand weapons such as riot shields and flamethrowers, light arms which include pistols and shotguns, heavy arms featuring rocket launchers and sub-machine guns and finally weapons that are thrown or placed such as grenades and explosives. The game features a variety of vehicles to drive in first-person; including jeeps, drillers, flying craft and submarines. In order to survive, Parker must link up and aid his fellow miners, receiving direction and objectives via com-link messages.

Red Faction features a game engine called Geo-Mod. It allows holes to be blasted into all manner of terrain including floors, walls and ceilings. While limited to certain surfaces, such as rock, ice and concrete, this nonetheless results in a more destructible environment where deviation from the level design is encouraged. Players are able to at multiple points, create their own paths, tunneling past obstacles and into new environments. Only heavy explosives; such as missiles, torpedoes, grenades and plastique will allow the terrain destruction of this sort.
