  1. Link is a young boy who lives with his grandmother on the Outset Island, one of the many small islands lost amidst the waters of the Great Sea. On his tenth birthday, Link encounters a giant bird carrying a girl. Link rescues the girl, but as a result his own sister is taken away by the bird. The unknown girl is a pirate captain named Tetra, who agrees to help Link find and rescue his sister. During the course of their journey the two realize that a powerful, legendary evil is active again, and must find a way to stop him.

The Wind Waker is the tenth installment in the Zelda series. Like its predecessors, it is an action game with puzzle-solving and light role-playing elements. Basic gameplay mechanics are similar to those found in Ocarina of Time: Link explored 3D outdoor areas and dungeons, fighting enemies and occasionally solving environmental puzzles. An addition to the combat system is the ability to parry at specific times, which is needed to overcome armored foes. Another new feature is picking up and using some of the weapons wielded by the enemies. Similarly to previous games, Link can use tools such as bow and arrow, boomerang, and bombs.

Link needs to sail through the Great Sea in order to travel to other islands. He uses a baton called the Wind Waker to change wind direction by conducting it and producing melodies. The Wind Waker is also used for teleportation and puzzle-solving purposes. Link can use wind currents to glide and access remote areas.

Visually, the game utilizes cel-shaded graphics to create a cartoon-like appearance. The characters' bodily proportions and facial features are not realistic, complementing the style. Link's big eyes, in particular, also have a gameplay-related function, giving clues to the player by looking at specific items needed to solve puzzles.

  3. Metal Gear Solid 4 is the fourth major installment in the series, developed by Hideo Kojima. It resolves previous plotlines by reintroducing characters from earlier games. The story follows an aged Solid Snake deployed to the Middle East in 2014 to thwart Liquid Ocelot, who aims to control the Sons of the Patriots and build an army.

The game introduces new actions, an enhanced camera, and a redesigned combat system. Camouflage is replaced by Octocamo, and the stamina gauge by a stress meter, affecting accuracy based on combat and climate conditions. Snake has access to a diverse array of customizable weapons.

Gadgets include the Solid Eye (electronic binoculars) and the Metal Gear Mk. II (exploration and stunning robot). The multiplayer, Metal Gear Online, features original modes like "Sneaking Mission" and "Team Sneaking" based on stealth elements.

    Drakengard 3

In earlier times, the world was ravaged by endless war and conflict. The fighting only ceased when five sisters with godlike powers used their song magic to defeat the warlords and bring peace throughout the lands. These Intoners now rule over various parts of the world, where they are adored and worshipped by their subjects. However, there is a sixth and eldest sister, Zero, who wishes to kill her siblings and take their power for herself. One year after failing to defeat the other Intoners, Zero sets out with her dragon Mikhail to kill them one by one.

Taking place about a century prior to the first Drakengard, this game puts the player in the role of Zero, who can be accompanied by up to two AI characters who join over the course of the story. Gameplay is largely similar to other entries in the series, comprised of hack-and-slash fighting on the ground and aerial combat in which Zero rides Mikhail. Performing combos fills up Zero's Tension Gauge, which she can tap into to unleash her Intoner powers. In Intoner Mode, Zero's speed and attack power increase, and she becomes invulnerable to enemy attacks. Zero can use four different types of weapons: swords, bracers, chakrams, and spears, and each individual weapon can be leveled up the more it is used in combat.

  7. Twilight Princess is the first Legend of Zelda game for the Wii and also the last for GameCube. At first Link is a simple farm boy, whose tasks consist of herding goats to watching children in Ordon village, Link's home town. One day, Link is asked by the mayor to run an errand in Castle Town, but things sudden go wrong…

The land becomes dark, and strange creatures appear from another world called the Twilight Realm, which turns most into ghosts. Link, however, becomes a wolf. After becoming a wolf, Link is aided by Midna, a resident of the Twilight Realm. Midna helps Link find a way to turn human again along with other tasks.

The wolf cannot use a sword or other items. Instead, as a wolf Link must use his senses to solve puzzles and get past obstacles. The beast can also dig holes to find hearts and rupees and to get in places. It can push blocks with its head to climb higher or reveal hidden passageways. Additionally, it can attack enemies by biting or pouncing on them.

As a human, Link can move around quickly, aim his bow, swing his sword, and even fish. Link also collects many different items, which allow him to perform varied attacks and reach places he couldn't before. Link performs many attacks with his sword and can even learn other sword moves.

The game's art is similar to the naturalistic style of Ocarina of Time, rather than the cel-shaded look of The Wind Waker. Chronologically, the game takes place between the two aforementioned titles and quite a few locations from Ocarina of Time can be visited. The main adventure takes place in several provinces with dungeons and temples. With the help of Midna, you can easily travel around quickly later in the game.

    Mario Kart Wii

Like its previous installments, Mario Kart Wii incorporates playable characters from the Mario series, who participate in races on over 30 different race tracks using specialized items to hinder opponents or gain advantages. The game features multiple single-player and multiplayer game modes including a four-person split screen. Online multiplayer was supported until the discontinuation of Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection in May 2014.[3] Mario Kart Wii uses the Wii Remote's motion-sensing to provide intuitive and conventional steering controls; each copy of the game is bundled with the Wii Wheel accessory to augment this feature.

The game received positive reviews upon release, with praise for the online mode, characters, gameplay, tracks and karts, although there was criticism for its item balancing. It is one of the best-selling video games of all time with over 37 million copies sold and is the second best-selling game for the Wii behind Wii Sports.

  10. Super Smash Bros. Brawl is a 2008 crossover fighting video game developed by Sora Ltd. and published by Nintendo for the Wii. The third installment in the Super Smash Bros. series, it was announced at a pre-E3 2005 press conference by Nintendo president Satoru Iwata. Masahiro Sakurai, director of the previous two games in the series, assumed the role of director at Iwata's request. Game development began in October 2005 with a creative team that included members from several Nintendo and third-party development teams. After delays due to development problems, the game was released worldwide in 2008.

The number of playable characters in Brawl has grown from that in Super Smash Bros. Melee, although some characters from Melee were cut in Brawl. Brawl is the first game in the series to have playable third-party characters. Like that of its predecessors, the objective of Brawl is to knock opponents off the screen. It is a departure from traditional fighting games, notably in its simplified move commands and emphasis on ring outs over knockouts. It includes a more extensive single-player mode than its predecessors, known as the Subspace Emissary. This mode is a plot-driven, side-scrolling beat 'em up featuring computer-generated cut scenes. Brawl supports multiplayer battles with up to four combatants, and is the first game of its franchise to feature online battles via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. The game is unique in that it can be played with four different controllers, including the Wii Remote, Wii Remote with Nunchuk, GameCube controller, and Classic Controller, simultaneously.

  14. Need for Speed: Most Wanted is in fact a cross between the Underground and the Hot Pursuit spin-offs. The player must gain notoriety by racing in the streets and attracting the attention of the cops in order to ascend in the Black List of illegal racers. In the end he must face no.1, Razor who tricked him out of his own car and used it to get to the top.

Many racing modes are carried on from NFSU2 with the addition of "Milestones", special events where the driver must evade capture and/or disable police cars by bringing down Pursuit Breakers, specially marked buildings such as gas stations and water towers. For each one of the 15 Blacklisted opponents, the player must win a specific number of events from each of the two main types and gain enough notoriety in the process. The player can invest bet money to buy new cars or improve his existing one's looks and performance so that he remains competitive.

In Most Wanted, Josie Maran replaces Brooke Burke as the racer girl. The plot is furthered through use of FMV video with live actors and digital sets, which has been heavily enhanced so that it looks quite real.

    Eternal Sonata

The hero of Eternal Sonata is a real historical character, the famous 19-century Polish composer Frédéric Chopin. The game begins with Chopin lying on his deathbed and having a strange dream in which he is transferred into a fantasy world where places and people have musically sounding names. Chopin encounters a girl named Polka, a magician who is on the run from her own destiny (since all magicians die young in her world). Other people join them on a quest to overthrow an evil nobleman. Events from Chopin's real life are shown as parallels to what happens in his dream.

The game is conceived in the tradition of Japanese RPGs, with a linear, character-oriented story line and graphics with animé influences. The gameplay combines several elements of classic turn-based combat, strategy, and real-time fighting. Your party has a limited amount of time for a turn, during which you can move a character over the battlefield and execute actions, which take different amount of time depending on their effects. Light plays an important role during battles, since characters have different attacks and spells when standing in the light or in a shadow.

The game uses works by Frederic Chopin as its musical score.

    Kingdom Hearts

Sora's world is shattered when a violent storm hits his home, and he is separated from his two closest friends. The storm scatters the three to unknown worlds. At the same time, there is turmoil in the Disney Castle. King Mickey is missing, and Court Wizard Donald and Captain Goofy are out to find him. On their travels they meet Sora, on his own search for his lost friends. The three are told of ominous creatures called Heartless, being without hearts derived from an unknown dimension and are the ones responsible for the devastating storm.

The Disney villains, enticed by the power of darkness, manipulate the Darkness to help them gather the princesses of heart, who are needed to open a mysterious final door. Upon discovering the link between the Heartless, the storm, and the disappearance of King Mickey, Sora, Donald, and Goofy join forces and help familiar Disney heroes to save their worlds from the Heartless.

In Kingdom Hearts players step into the very large shoes of Sora, wielder of the keyblade. Sora can attack with the blade, and as he levels up he will gain more attacks that are automatically chained together. Sora can learn magic and put healing items into a quick menu, and both can only be used in real time. Donald and Goofy (as well as an additional character exclusive to each world/disney movie) will follow Sora. Their equipment and AI can be adjusted, but they can not be directly controlled. Defeated enemies will drop many kinds of items including synthesis materials. Sora can take these to the Synthesis shop in Twilight Town to turn them into usable items, accessories, and weapons.

Traveling between each world requires Sora's party to fly through space in a Gummi Ship. The Gummi Ship can be completely customized, from speed and armor to weapons and shape, out of parts picked up from destroyed Gummi Ships, found in worlds, or bought from a store. Larger, more complex ships can be built as the game progresses, and plans can be found from destroyed enemies or from an NPC that will automatically build a Gummi Ship of specific specifications.

  23. The region is overwhelmed by a wave of crime. An organization called Team Rocket is carrying out mass kidnappings of Pokémon, creating an unprecedented panic.

The police are doing everything they can to stop this period of repression, but the criminals are so organized that this is not enough. Some trainers decided to confront TEAM ROCKET by their own means, but without any real success, despite the success of some of them in thwarting the organization's plans.

In order to strengthen the trainers and to avoid centralizing the Pokémon in laboratories or centers, a measure has been put in place, consisting of equipping all trainers deemed capable of fighting with a Pokémon to defend themselves.

Will this be enough to end the period of unrest in the region?

    New Features:

    - All-new storyline: new storyline, new characters, more mature quest but still retains the Pokémon spirit.
    - All-new maps: All maps in the game are brand new.
    - Numerous side quests and side games that await you after you finish the main adventure.
    - A very long lifespan; after many hours spent on the main quest, there is still time to complete the side quests.
    - All Pokémon from the first three generations are catchable (including the legendary ones).
    - The available Pokéradar.
    - The probability of finding Shiney has increased.
    - Different outfits available for the player to discover in the store.
    - A new Battle Tower has been created.
    - A Cable Link integrated into the game for Pokémon evolving by exchange.

The changes made are very numerous, so they are present in a text file located in the game archive.

  27. Together with Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl, this game is the 3rd games in the 4th generation of the Pokémon series. Set in a new region, Sinnoh, it includes 107 new Pokémon, bringing the total up to 493. Pokémon Platinum includes for the first time in the 4th generation, the Battle Frontier which can be played on and off-line, make Poffins on-line. Players can collect badges, challenge the Elite Four, and become the ultimate Pokémon master.

The game continues the basic idea of previous Pokémon games - the player, a new trainer, sets out on a quest to catch every known Pokémon and defeat the Pokémon league. Along the way, the player will attempt to foil the plots of the evil organization, Team Galactic, who seek to use a trio of legendary Pokémon to awaken a sleeping titan with the power to control space. There are many sidequests and other activities along the way, the Battle Frontier, expanded on-line options, downloadable content via Mystery Gift, a brand new GTS with the option to receive notifications of completed traded over the Wii, record battle videos, the option to submit one's Pokémon party data for others to see and the Distortion World, which defies the laws of gravity and contains Platinum's mascot, Giratina.

The core Pokémon series features an RPG turn-based battle system. Each monster can learn up to four attacks. In a single turn, the two opponents select their attacks, and the one with the higher Speed attacks first. The amount of damage is influenced by the Attack and Defense stats. In the past, attacks were automatically classified as Physical or Special based on their elemental type. In Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum each attack can be individually categorized, so attacks which use natural elements are Special, and those which use simple force are Physical.

The Pokémon Contests from Ruby and Sapphire return, with many new features. In addition to the attack performance, where the player must try to impress the judge with flashy moves, players will also dress up their Pokémon and dance in time to music. Platinum, as well as Diamond and Pearl, also bring back the real time system from Gold and Silver, where day and night are reflected in your game. Some Pokémon are only catchable during certain times.

  29. The seventh installment of the Final Fantasy series takes place in a post-modern, steampunk, sci-fi world where high technology reigns and where robots and bio-engineered mutants co-exist with humans and dragons.

The story focuses on Shinra Inc., an evil mega-corporation responsible for all the world's high technology. Shinra supports this technology with Mako Energy, Shinra's patented source of power. Unfortunately Mako is the lifeblood of the living planet and by using it up Shinra is slowly upsetting the balance of nature.

In comes AVALANCHE, a rebel group of disenfranchised citizens who have taken it upon themselves to oppose Shinra's ambitions. The main character is an ex-Shinra soldier named Cloud Strife, an angst-ridden fellow with a complex history that is explained as the game goes on. Cloud joins up with AVALANCHE as a mercenary for hire, and together they take on Shinra's maniacal executives and their army of shock-troops, robots, and mutants. However, after a while it becomes apparent that there are other forces at work, and ultimately Cloud must not only fight against Shinra, but also stop a powerful man from his past from destroying the world.

Like its predecessors, Final Fantasy VII is a role-playing game in Japanese style, featuring turn-based combat with a real-time (ATB, "active time battle") element against randomly appearing enemies. Customization in the game revolves around a so-called "Materia" system. Instead of magic spells, abilities, and bonus stats being saved to a single character, they are saved to Materia orbs, allowing the player to change a character's spells and abilities from the equipment menu at any time. Materia orbs can be bought in stores or found during exploration. The series' trademark summoned monsters are also contained within specific Materia. Beside experience points, characters also receive ability points that gradually upgrade the abilities of the currently equipped Materia.

Each character also possesses a set of unique attacks called "Limit Breaks". By sustaining enough damage without dying a character will build up their Limit Gauge, which can be expended to do a highly damaging attack when filled. More powerful Limit Breaks are unlocked as previous ones are used, and acquiring the most powerful Limit Break of each character will require completion of sub-quests.

The game utilizes 3D character models and pre-rendered backgrounds with varying camera angles for exploration of towns and hostile areas. World map navigation and battle screens are done completely in 3D. CG movies are frequently used as cutscenes that advance the game's story. The game features a large amount of mini-games (most of which are optional) and many ways to explore the game world, as the player gradually acquires various vehicles that can venture into previously inaccessible locations.

    Canis Canem Edit

Bully is a story of one Jimmy Hopkins, whose academic success hasn't been anything spectacular as he's been expelled from various schools. His parents have a grand idea of sending him to Bullworth Academy which -- despite its grand name -- houses lots of other kids like Jimmy. This is the place where future dictators, murderers, and mad scientists reside. With a help of a few friends, some wits and hard-as-a-rock fists, Jimmy has to survive through one year in Bullworth Academy.

Often described as "GTA in high school", the game indeed has many similarities with the famous car-hijacking series. It features a "sandbox" environment, which encompasses not only the vast high school grounds, but also the nearby town of Bullworth. As in GTA games, the player can choose to complete missions in different order, or simply roam the game world, interacting with the environment and the characters.

Naturally, much of the typical GTA-like content has been changed to fit the high school setting. The violence is still present: Jimmy can punch and kick anyone he encounters, as well as use a variety of (non-lethal) weapons such as slingshots, fire crackers, and even self-made guns. It is not possible to hijack cars, but Jimmy is able to steal and ride bicycles. The missions include a variety of gameplay styles: chases, races, shooter-like sequences, escort missions, spying, random acts of vandalism, and many more.

Bully features a plethora of activities and mini-games that can be accessed outside of the missions. Jimmy can simply attend classes and study. Each class is built like a mini-game: for example, language lesson involves composing as many words as possible out of a few given letters within a time limit. It is possible to find, buy, and wear different outfits, get jobs and earn money, and even date schoolmates and buy presents for them.

  31. Listening to players and critics, Bandai reissues his title in a special version soberly named Dragon Ball Z : Budokai 3 (Edition Collector). No big changes in the content with some bonus costumes and other goodies. The main interest of this version lies in the addition of the Japanese voices of Toriyama's characters. The special attacks of Goku and his gang are finally accompanied by the Japanese voices, and that makes all the difference! The story mode narration and menu comments also benefit from the original dubbing. For the rest, the title remains the same and thus keeps all its gameplay qualities (tough but efficient) and its sick super powers that will give you a feeling of unequalled overpower.

They have the typically ordinary day-to-day of a Tokyo high schooler - attending class, after school activities and part-time jobs. But they also undertake fantastical adventures by using otherworldly powers to enter the hearts of people. Their power comes from the Persona, the Jungian concept of the "self".

The game's heroes realize that society forces people to wear masks to protect their inner vulnerabilities, and by literally ripping off their protective masks and confronting their inner selves do the heroes awaken their inner power, and use it to strive to help those in need.

Ultimately, the group of Phantom Thieves seeks to change their day-to-day world to match their perception and see through the masks modern-day society wears.

    The Simpsons: Hit & Run

The Simpsons: Hit & Run can be best described as Grand Theft Auto in Springfield.

The player takes on the role of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa or Apu and tries to uncover a mystery surrounding mechanical bees that are taking over Springfield, mysterious vans, and cola that can control the minds of those who drink it.

Like GTA, the game follows a linear-based path through fifty plus missions. The player will have to chase cars and find out where they're headed, grab all the spilling cola cans before people can drink them, and chase down villains before they get away.

Throughout the course of the game, the player can unlock tons of rewards by completing missions in a set amount of time or performing outstanding stunts.

All voiceovers are performed by those who act in the show, including Dan Castellaneta (Homer), Julie Kavner (Marge) and Yeardley Smith (Lisa).

The game supports multiplayer action for up to four players.

A mustachioed maniac has mucked up the entire island, and Mario is accused of committing the crime. Armed with a hi-tech water cannon called FLUDD (Flash Liquidizer Ultra Dousing Device), Mario sets out to clean the island, clear his name, and solve the mystery of the villainous vandal. 36. In an all new 2D side-scrolling adventure, Mario and Luigi return after nearly fifteen years. The first traditional Mario Bros. game since Super Mario World.

The character models are rendered in real time 3D, allowing for a far greater number of moves ever before seen in a Mario Bros. title. Also as the game is on DS, the touch screen allows players to store an additional power-up and view the distance still to go in a level.

Bowser and Bowser Jr. has kidnapped Princess Peach, and of course, it is up to Mario and Luigi to rescue her and take down the troublemakers. There are eight new worlds to explore, much like in Mario 3: they are Plains, Desert, Tropical Island, Forest, Ice, Mountains, Sky, and Bowser's Lair.

The eight worlds have eighty distinct levels as well as many secrets that will only be found on careful examination. There are also many new power-ups (the mega mushroom and Koopa shell, for instance) for the brothers to collect.

    Ratchet: Gladiator

Ratchet: Deadlocked is the fourth game in the Ratchet & Clank series by Insomniac Games. The storyline involves Ratchet and Clank, along with Al, being kidnapped and forced to compete in a underground reality show called "DreadZone" run by the media mogul Gleeman Vox on the outer fringes of the galaxy.

The game differs from its predecessors in that it focuses more on shooting than platforming and puzzle elements. The game allows you to use two bots to fight along side you, which can be upgraded over time with better weapons and firepower. There is a total of 10 weapons in the game, significantly less than the other games. However, modding these weapons is more emphasized than before, with different kinds of Alpha and Omega mods. Omega mods can be used on any weapon, and range from the freeze mod to the magma mod. Alpha mods are weapon-specific, and increase the rate of fire, ammo capacity, and power. The game also features online multiplayer.

Clank is not a playable character in this game, although he gives advice to Ratchet over his communication link.

  48. The manly tough-guy stereotype is on the verge of retirement, over a decade after he saved the world from aliens in Duke Nukem 3D. America is awash in hero-worship of the man who conquered the aliens with movies, books, restaurants, and action figures (to name a few things) of their favorite muscle-bound action hero. One day, on the way to his own talk show, Duke learns that aliens have landed on the earth once again. However, this time their intentions seem to be unclear and Duke is asked by the president to restrain himself, for fear of offending the aliens and provoking another war. Duke reluctantly agrees - only to find out, much to his relief, that the aliens are hostile after all, which means that the pop culture icon is finally back to his old ways!

Duke Nukem Forever is a first-person shooter that largely relies on the gameplay style of its predecessor, known for testosterone-fueled gunplay and humor. A few elements characteristic for modern shooters have been introduced: Duke has a health bar that refills over time, and carries only two weapons at a time, similarly to Halo. Duke Nukem also spends no time ducking behind cover, attacking, and bounding forward to cover in the way squad-based or tactical FPS titles do. Rather, players will charge through stages, running and gunning for most of the game.

Beside weapons, Duke can use pipe bombs and laser tripwires to damage the enemies, throw items, consume steroids and beer to increase his strength and reduce the damage he takes, respectively, as well as use a jetpack to fly short distances (multiplayer only). He can also use a holoduke, which creates a hologram of himself, confusing the enemies, and activate the Duke vision if the area is too dark. As in Duke Nukem 3D, it is possible to interact with parts of the environment; some of these interactions bestow benefits to the protagonist, including permanently increasing his ego bar (substitute for health bar).

The game also features various set pieces and levels that focus on driving, platform jumping, and light puzzle-solving. In certain levels Duke will shrink in size, and will have to overcome obstacles before he can be restored to his old self again. Other activities include driving a monster truck or a radio-controlled car, turret-focused gunning segments, mini-games (e.g. Duke Nukem pinball machine), massive boss battles, and the classic visit to a strip club. Of course, it just wouldn't be a Duke Nukem game if it didn't feature the Duke's crude, dry commentary throughout the game.
