Continuing the tradition of adapting known franchises such as Star Wars and Indiana Jones with visuals based on LEGO, this game takes on the Batman universe. The basic concept is the same, with characters and objects built up using LEGO blocks, but here shown against surroundings drawn in a regular fashion. Most of the environments are side-scrolling with a fixed camera perspective, but in 3D with quite some depth.

It is not based on a certain movie or comic, but on the franchise as a whole with a new story. The animations and sequences are rather quirky and share nothing with the darker atmosphere of the contemporary Batman movies. A cast of villains has escaped from Arkham Asylum and now roam through Gotham City wreaking havoc. The first half of the game, players control Batman and his sidekick Robin to take on all enemies with typical brawler gameplay. Enemies will often respawn endlessly until the player figures out how to progress. The environments can be explored using a number of gadgets such as the batarang and the grappling hook, and players can switch between the two characters at any time. They can both fight and the inactive character is always controlled by the computer AI. Both characters have unique powers they can access by changing their suits. Batman can then glide through the air or plant bombs, while Robin has for instance a technology suit that allows his to walk on metal surfaces in any direction. They can also drive certain vehicles.

Both characters operate out of the Batcave that acts as a central hub to store trophies and access missions. Many of the missions have small puzzle elements with buttons or passages that need to be cleared. Objects and characters explode into smaller LEGO blocks and at certain sections the hero need to build structures with blocks to create new objects. After completing a mission in the story mode, it becomes available in a separate free play mode.

In the second part of the game players take control of the different villains such as Poison Ivy, The Joker, Mr Freeze, The Riddler, Killer Moth, Hush, Clayface, Man-Bat and more. They all have different powers and their section of the game always ends at the moment they are confronted by Batman and Robin. This way, the game shows how they set up their plans prior to the fights in the first part of the game. The characters collect coins, objects and hearts. Even though they can die, they immediately respawn.

Multi player options vary between platforms. Home console and Windows versions allow drop in/drop out co-op. The PSP release fares worst of all and does not contain any kind of multiplayer option.

Initial D: Extreme Stage is a racing game based on the manga Initial D. During story mode, Takumi Fujiwara competes against different characters from the manga in illegal street races. After a short banter, the race begins: it lasts around three minutes and the goal is to reach the end before the opponent. The races can be played in either 3rd- or 1st-person perspective. The other playing modes are time attack and online play (free races and races which count against the online ranking). Outside the story mode, the tracks can also be customized: driving direction, wet/dry and day/night.

The sequel to Champions of Norrath, Champions: Return to Arms is an action RPG that puts players in the EverQuest universe. The evil Innoruuk was destroyed and his remains (shards) have been scattered throughout the Planes of Power. The player must find the shards and choose between good or evil: Destroy them to rid of Innoruuk or collect them to restore him.

The game has seven playable races (two new ones from the original) and more online features. Players can import characters from the first game. It can be played single-player or with up to four players (online or with multitap).

The Ultimate version of the Spider-Man mythos revamps the franchise, bringing in edgier (and often younger) versions of famous superheroes and supervillains. The Human Torch, Wolverine, Electro, and Green Goblin are some of the Ultimate characters who make appearances. Ultimate Spider-Man features a fully rendered, cel-shaded Manhattan open to exploration.

With few exceptions, Spider-Man and Venom can explore Manhattan and Queens, climbing, jumping, and web swinging away. Story missions show up as hot spots on the map as do other in-game objectives. When the player is done patrolling (or destroying) the city, they can hit these hot spots to advance the story. Between story missions, Spider-Man and Venom can follow race paths, go on combat tours, discover and collect hidden icons, and help (or hurt) the citizens of New York.

Tommy Vercetti is a gangster who just got off a fifteen year prison sentence for not squealing on his friends. Because he didn't rat out his "family", Tommy's sent to work with Sonny Forelli, his old boss. Sonny gives him an easy drug job, but everything goes wrong, and Tommy loses everything. Upon returning to Sonny, he gets mad and wants his money back. Unfortunately, everybody in Vice City, from gangsters and Cubans to bikers and politicians are in his way, and it's up to Tommy to clear a path.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City offers the same free-roaming driving and action gameplay style as its predecessor, but in a new setting based on the city of Miami. The game includes all the features of the previous installment and builds upon them. There are new cars in the game, reminiscent of typical vehicles from the 1980's. Some cars are earlier models of the vehicles from GTA III. A few missions also involve the protagonist navigating a boat.

New to this installment is the ability to drive motorcycles. Tommy can drive a variety of two-wheeled vehicles, from huge Harley-esque bikes to dirt bikes to a standard motorcycle. Flying is also a bigger part of the game, as the player can fly small planes and helicopters, traveling from area to area, landing on helipads on top of towering skyscrapers.

Firearms are for the most part the same as in GTA III, and melee weapons have been added to the protagonist's arsenal. Tommy can use riot batons, crowbars, and a few others. Activities outside of the missions (driving taxis, delivering sick people to hospitals, firefighting and playing a vigilante policeman) are available as well.

To effectively capture the mood of the 1980s, the soundtrack has been altered to fit the time period. Players will listen to an estimated nine hours of music (nearly three times the amount featured in the previous game) across ten radio stations. The eclectic mix features such noteworthy titles as I Ran by Flock of Seagulls, The Message by Grandmaster Flash, You've Got Another Thing Coming by Judas Priest, and Out of Touch by Hall & Oates.

Doom 3 (stylized as D00M3) is a science fiction survival horror first-person shooter video game developed by id Software and published by Activision. Doom 3 was first released for Microsoft Windows on August 3, 2004. Developer Vicarious Visions ported the game to the Xbox console (also backwards compatible to the Xbox 360), releasing it on April 3, 2005. British developers Splash Damage also assisted in design for the multiplayer elements of the game.

The game is a reboot of the Doom franchise, disregarding storylines of the previous Doom video games, it is however a prequel to Doom I and II (according to the Doom RPG website they are all part of the same universe, it places Doom RPG as a sequel to Doom 3, and prequel to Doom/Doom II all starring the same marine character. Doom 3 is set in 2145 on Mars, where a military-industrial conglomerate has set up a scientific research facility to research into fields such as teleportation, biological research and advanced weapons design. However, the teleportation experiments inadvertently open a gateway to Hell, resulting in a catastrophic invasion by demons. The player, an anonymous space marine, must fight through the base and find a way to stop the demons attacking Earth.

The sequel to 2005's Path of Radiance and the tenth game in the Fire Emblem series, Radiant Dawn takes place three years after the defeat of the Daein kingdom by Crimea.

Unlike other Wii games, the main method of control is either through the classic controller or GameCube controller, since the action is wholly turn-based tactical combat, largely the same as the previous nine games. The game consists of 44 chapters and uses the same engine as Path of Radiance. There are three new weapon and magic types: Knife, Dark Magic and Strike.

The player must lead a band of heroes against the Begnion Empire's oppression of the defeated Daein, along with help from many of the heroes from Path of Radiance. The members of the Dawn group are the main heroes of the game, with a major role for Sothe, who was a child thief from the previous Fire Emblem game.

The 2013 game from the Pro Evolution Soccer games returns to the basics of soccer: the control of a single soccer player with all its movements and its own style to play. There is a couple of different game modes: take part with a team in a tournament, play the life of a soccer legend, win a championship or take part in an online match.

Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks is a 3D platforming adventure beat-em-up that takes place in the Mortal Kombat world. The story begins just after the first tournament, and fills in some of the backgrounds of various characters in the series. Fighting across several areas of Earthrealm, Netherrealm, and Outworld, this game follows Liu Kang and Kung Lao (the Shaolin Monks) as they thwart another invasion of Earth. Shaolin Monks features a wide cast of recognizable characters, many secret unlockables, as well as being able to play through with a friend in Ko-op mode.

The combat is fast-paced, with numerous ways to dispose of enemies, including Mortal Kombat signature moves and Fatalities. Kombat goes beyond what can be seen in the fighting games, with several extra features such as the series first Multi-Directional Kombat System, Multalities (kill multiple opponents with one move), Brutalities (see red as you unleash brutal force), Ko-op only team attacks, and even character progression (earn experience to spend on upgrades to moves). The backgrounds, all based on Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat II arenas, come to life with numerous hazards for the monks that they can turn on their enemies.

Otogi: Myth of Demons is a third-person action game which lets you play as Raikoh. Once a mighty warrior, he has been resurrected by a mysterious princess to free Japan of an army of demons and is held in the world of the living by her powers.

Battle your enemies with either your sword, your magic, or both, and buy new weapons, spells and other items between missions to better your performance. The battle system, while simple at its roots, lets you execute a number of combinations of basic, heavy, spell, and dash attacks to strike at your enemies. Since Raikoh can stay long in mid-air and even rise up higher by executing certain slashes, fights take place in all three directions of the area.

Sonic the Hedgehog is a remake of the 2006 version known as the worst game of the series released for the 15 years of Sonic on Xbox 360 and PS3.

In order to make up for Sega's misstep, a small team composed of 7 members (Gistix, Highter, NeKit, ItsHelias94, Mefiresu, Thomas Baker and NewGame+) challenged themselves to remake a PC version of this game and thus correct all the known problems of the game (bugs, handling, etc...).

The sequel to the Siren survival horror game puts you again in control of several characters. The game takes place on a island on the coast of Japan called Yamijima. The story begins when the characters have to dock to the island to survive the raging storm. 29 years earlier, all the island's inhabitants disappeared in a blackout and you will need to investigate this mystery.

The sequel adds new features in the game, which most notably you will notice, apart from the original Shibito zombies, as the new Yami Bito demons. The sequel also has a new alert system which functions through the controller's vibration function and alerts you of any nearby danger.

Stealth plays an important role, as well as light and darkness, as the creatures are sensitive to it in different ways. Just like in the previous game, you can sight-jack enemies and animals, to view the environment through their eyes. There are over 30 weapons to collect and there are three difficulty options.

A 400-year-old clue in the coffin of Sir Francis Drake sets a modern-day fortune hunter on an exploration for the fabled treasure of El Dorado, leading to the discovery of a forgotten island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The search turns deadly when Nathan Drake becomes stranded on the island and hunted by mercenaries. Burnout 3: Takedown is a racing game which encourages aggressive driving and lets you use your vehicle to smash your way to the finish line by taking out your rivals and causing massive multi-car pileups. The more cars you take out, damage you inflict, the more events and cars you can unlock. Burnout 3 also has a "crash" mode which puts your vehicle at a variety of traffic junctions jam-packed with moving vehicles and pickups to see just how much monetary damage you can inflict.

Burnout 3: Takedown continues the racing series with more cars, more tracks, a more detailed crash engine, and a multitude of new gameplay modes for single players, multiple players on one system, and online play.

Dante's Inferno is a video game based on the first canticle of the Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri. Dante is depicted as a templar knight who travels through the nine circles of hell to rescue his beloved Beatrice, whose soul has been captured by the devil. The gameplay is similar to the God of War games, where Dante uses a scythe and magic from a holy cross to defeat enemies. Players have the option to follow a holy or unholy path, which affects the type of abilities they can purchase. The game features combat, environmental puzzles, and quick time events, and the player's abilities can be enhanced through relics and by collecting souls. A new game mode, Gates of Hell Arena, is unlocked after completing the game.

LittleBigPlanet is a puzzle platformer where the player controls sackboys. It takes the characters on an adventure through levels with different themes and settings, trying to reach the end of each level alive. The platforming is based entirely on physics where the sackboys can push or pull items, or generally manipulate them with their movement or weight. In addition to running, jumping, pushing and pulling, it is also necessary to master grabbing dangling objects and swinging from them to get over some obstacles and traps.

The game can be played by up to four players simultaneously with some puzzles requiring more than one player to be solved. Levels consists of three planes: foreground, middle, and background, which can be traversed.

Next to the main game with about 50 levels, a large portion is devoted to creating user generated content. Players can design their own levels and devise custom rules. The objects used to build up the levels are largely based on the characteristics of real world materials emulated by the physics engine.

During the course of a level, stickers can be picked up for (mostly) decorative purposes or new items used to dress up the sackboys or for inclusion in the player's own levels. User created content can be shared via the PlayStation Network.

Many years into the future, a race of vampires have emerged, plunging planet Earth into darkness with an environmental control system called the 'paraSOL'. They now control the planet, with humans living in fear. When all hope seems lost, two boys with amazing power emerge to save the planet. The Dark Swordsman, Lucian, and a rookie member of the vampire fighting 'Guild', Aaron.

Lunar Knights is an indirect sequel to the Boktai series of games, which takes place many years after. Its focus is much more on action as opposed to stealth, although some stealth elements from the earlier games remain (for example, you can blow into the microphone to whistle and attract the attention of enemies). Players control the two characters, Lucian and Aaron. Lucian fights with a huge sword called 'Vanagand'. As a result, Lucian has a close combat style. Lucian uses the power of moonlight to fuel his special attacks and moves.

The other character is Aaron, a gunslinger for the Guild. He fights by using sunlight to charge up his gun, the Knight, and shoot ranged shots at foes. Aaron's special attacks and moves use up sunlight. Both Aaron and Lucian can use junk materials to increase the level of their weaponry, giving them more power.

The main goal of the game is to make your way through the dungeons and purify the vampire at the end. The dungeons themselves are fairly standard - you search for treasure chests, avoid traps and solve puzzles. At the end, you'll fight a boss vampire, and once you've defeated them, the Casket Rocket will be called. Because the vampires have blocked out the sun on Earth, you'll need to take the vampire into space to purify them.

At this point, the game becomes a touch screen controlled shooter. To control the ship itself, you drag it around the screen with the stylus. To shoot enemy ships, you tap them with the screen. Once you reach the end, the vampire will be purified by the magnified power of the sun.

Juiced is a racing game, set in the fictive Angel City, that embraces the lifestyle and culture of street racing and tuning, similar to Need for Speed Underground, with slick, fully customizable cars, fast races, gaining respect and betting. The arcade mode offers quick races and in the custom mode you can set up events with unlocked cars and tracks. There are 52 vehicles from known manufacturers to acquire, and the game boasts a total of 7.5 trillion car customization possibilities. To make available all cars, tracks and parts, you need to progress in the career mode, where you build cars and participate in racing events to earn cash and respect. Aside from the traditional circuit and point-to-point races, there are also drag races (sprints) and show-offs with difficult maneuvers requiring advanced driving techniques.

When you achieve acclaim in the career mode, some of the eight racing crews in Angel City will offer a position on their team. Each crew has specific challenges and crew racing introduces additional gameplay elements. You have to organize events by phone, gamble, and race opponents for their cars (pink slip races). The team leader's respect is controlled by the amount of damage given and sustained (distress, which also affects the car's performance) and your personal car collection. In team races, there is a strategic element as you can control your team members' aggressiveness in-game.

Up to six player can race in the multiplayer mode, in which pink slip races, based on the car collection from the offline career mode, are also available. Statistics are organized on a world ranking server, with record times from singleplayer games and a rating based on your online performance. Ratings can be improved by beating higher-ranked players or multiple drivers in a single race.

Siren: Blood Curse is the third installation in the Forbidden Siren series.

An American television crew sets out to Japan to investigate a village called "Hanuda", which has seen it's share of human sacrifices and other terrifying events.

Divided to twelve chronologically set episodes, Siren: Blood Curse plays much like the first game in the series, but this time with much update controls schemes and graphics.

Honest to the Forbidden Siren style, the game forces the player to hide and divert enemies instead of choosing to fight them. Sight-jacking is back as the main weapon of the player: you must use your special ability to see through your enemies' eyes in order to steer clear away from battle. New to Blood Curse is the ability to create shortcuts for sight-jacked enemies.

Demolish Fist is a side scrolling beat 'em up where the player controls one of four characters, Enzo, Leoneer, Vanessa or Undead as you battle your way through various stages. There are many items, which are available to use as a weapons against your enemies. Each player has their own assortment of moves and specials that they can unleash at will. Also all four of these characters have the ability to use the awesome 'Vertigo' technique! Demolish Fist is a well put together fighting game that has many things to offer the beat 'em up world.

A Venezuelan billionaire named Ramon Solano hires a mercenary to rescue general Carlos Carmona, who attempted a coup d’état and failed. After a successful completion of the objective Solano refuses to pay and tries to kill the mercenary, who barely escapes.

Afterwards, Carmona and Solano take over Venezuela, pulling off a successful coup, capturing the country's oil platforms, putting the world on alert as they seize total control of the country. Unbeknownst to them, the mercenary has survived and is now plotting revenge against the two. The mercenary must take contracts from rival factions such as Universal Petroleum, an oil company whose business is threatened by Solano, the P.L.A.V. (People’s Liberation Army of Venezuela), who are a force of rebel soldiers determined to take back their country, the Jamaican Pirates, who profit from Solano's forces, the A.N. (Allied Nations), who have entered the company to try and bring back stability to the region, and the Chinese Army, who hope to take control of Venezuela as well, marking themselves as a true superpower.

Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is a free-roaming driving and action game. In the beginning the player selects one of three mercenaries from the previous game (Mattias Nilsson, Chris Jacobs and Jennifer Mui). Each merc has a special ability: Jennifer can run faster than others, Mattias regenerates his health faster, and Chris can carry more ammo. The gameplay is similar to that of the preceding game, with a few minor changes, one of which is a new way to hijack tanks: whereas in the previous game the player could simply walk up to the tank and automatically hijack it, it is now necessary to participate in quick-time events to get rid of the enemy gunner. It is possible to use a grappling hook to latch onto passing helicopters in order to hijack them. As opposed to the previous game, player characters can swim.

The protagonist now has a "headquarters" of sorts, where he or she can stockpile weapons, supply crates and vehicles. To obtain these stockpiles the protagonist must recruit three certain soldiers unlockable in the game: a helicopter pilot named Ewan Garrett, who delivers stockpile crates found by the player character to the headquarters; a mechanic named Eva Navarro, who will repair and stock vehicles, and is used for artillery strikes; and a fighter pilot named Misha Milanich, who is used for air strikes. Fiona Taylor reprises her role, giving the player technical information and training missions.

There is no more black market contacts to purchase supplies or airstrikes; instead players must take complete jobs for contacts scattered on the island. Completing jobs for these contacts will supply the headquarters with materials such as weapons, medikits, and artillery support. It is also possible to stockpile vehicles by driving back to their headquarters, keeping them at the garage for use in missions. Also, gas is needed to bring in supplies or call in airstrikes, which can be obtained by either completing contracts or collecting them scattered throughout the country.

Once again, bounties come into play, but instead of the "Deck of 52" from the first game, there are now "High Value Targets", military leaders that have defected from the Venezuela military and declared themselves independent from Solano as well as competing factions. They are scattered throughout the map; capturing them alive will grant the player character more money, while killing them will only net half the bounty as a reward. There are also "treasures" lying around the island, such as fuel cans, weapons schematics and even pirate treasure chests; each has their own monetary value for collecting them.

There are also new vehicles in the game, as well classic vehicles, such as modernized tanks, more powerful helicopters and even (for the first time) boats and other watercraft such as jet ski, as well as civilian muscle cars, high-end racing cars, and specialized vehicles for each faction.

Golden Axe: Beast Rider is the first game in the series played in a 3D world. The player is again tasked to fight against Death Adder. This is accomplished by taking control of Tyris Flare, the Amazon. Unlike the other games, there's no choice of character, although Gilius Thunderhead the dwarf and Tarik the Ax Battler do make cameo appearances as NPCs. There are three modes of play; the main game is played through a campaign mode, there is a challenge mode where previously completed levels are played again, and there's an arena trials mode where the enemies in a level are fought in an arena style environment.

There are two types of attacks, a quick attack and a powerful attack. You can choose to parry or evade enemy strikes, each is used for the appropriate type of attack. There's also jumps, kicks, and magic. While riding a beast, you can choose a normal, special, or ranged attack.

Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+, only released in Japanese territories, is a 2-disc set that includes Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+ an updated re-release of the original Kingdom Hearts II and a 3D PS2 version remake of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories called Kingdom Heart Re:Chain of Memories with extra scenes and voice-overs for particular scenes.

Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+ improvements include an English voice cast, tweaks in all difficulty modes and a new "Serious Mode" difficulty, new areas and redesigned navigation maps, new scenes from the Japanese Manga, new boss battles against the mysterious Organization XIII, one of the fights that was a cut-scene in the original is now playable, and all censored parts of the game are no longer censored.

Saint Seiya: Soldiers' Soul is a 3D one-on-one fighting game based on the Saint Seiya manga series. There are 48 characters in the game, with different types of skins, and 39 of those were previously part of the 2013 title Saint Seiya: Brave Soldiers. There are two story modes. One is called Legend of Cosmo and follows the story from the 12 Houses arc to the Hades arc. The other one is called Battle of Gold. This mode contains twelve Gold Saints each with their own story segment and match-ups that are entirely new for the series.

In the free battle mode any unlocked character can be selected. Fighting is done in an environment with full 3D movement. Each character has basic moves and specials based on a Cosmo Gauge. Compared to Saint Seiya: Brave Soldiers Cosmos recharges faster now and there are no longer bars. Instead there is now a Seven Sense Awakening bar to access the Seventh Sense mode when it is full. That is now the way to perform Big Bang Attacks, which were previously part of the Cosmo mechanic. Photon is a new type of projectile available for all characters.

The orb system is still present with a new feature called Assist Phrase for a boost when a specific requirement is met. The Cosmic K.O. is a new type of finisher.

"Leçons de cuisine - Qu'allons-nous Manger Aujourd'hui ?" is a cooking software on Nintendo DS offering nearly 250 recipes from traditions around the world. The game also includes a database of ingredients and different cooking techniques. Note that it is possible to control the progress of the recipe using voice commands.

Different stories and adventures will be revealed depending on what bonds are formed with the game's characters and how the player chooses to solve each of the 52 adventures. Use more than 100 magic spells to become the greatest magician of all time!

Final Fantasy IX tells the story of Zidane, the member of a team of theater actors who also happen to be a gang of thieves, and Garnet, the princess of Alexandria. Zidane and his buddies first plan to kidnap Garnet from her mother's palace. But shortly after the kidnapping, they realize the queen of Alexandria is up to something evil. Zidane, the princess, and other characters they encounter on their journey decide to join forces and to find out what can possibly drive the queen to commit her cruel deeds.

The game's visual style is similar to the previous entry in the Final Fantasy series, with 3D character models, world map, and battle stages, pre-rendered backgrounds in individual locations, and CG cutscenes that advance the story. However, from the point of view of overall atmosphere and gameplay, the game tends to resemble older installments more. Like in Final Fantasy IV, each character belongs to a specific class (e.g. thief, black mage, summoner, etc.) which cannot be changed, having his or her own unique abilities. Combat utilizes the series' trademark ATB (active-time battle) system. Battles allow participation of four player-controlled characters. The player is able to choose these from a larger amount of available characters during later parts of the game.

Character abilities (magic spells, immunity to certain status changes, etc.) are contained within weapons and armor. Each of these allows the player to learn one or more abilities by equipping the item on a character and continuously participating in battles. Ability points are awarded after battles along with experience points, gradually filling the ability bar of the equipped part. Once the bar is full, the ability can be used by the character even after the equipment that allowed him or her to learn it has been removed.

The card mini-game from the previous installment is now called Tetra Master, and is featured more prominently. Cards are now placed on a 4x4 grid, and can attack other cards on diagonals as well as cardinal directions. Cards no longer have set stats, and instead have a range of values and arrow positions, making every card unique. Regional rule variations are gone, but at the start of every match one to five positions on the grid will be blacked out, changing the player's offensive and defensive strategies with every game.

A young man named Crono is about to enjoy a carefree day: he plans to go to the Millennial Fair, where his friend Lucca intends to demonstrate her newest scientific invention: a teleporter. Upon his arrival, Crono meets a young girl named Marle, who volunteers to be the first to test Lucca's new device. However, Marle's pendant affects the teleporter's mechanism in a mysterious way, and as a result, she is teleported four hundred years into the past. Crono and Lucca quickly recreate the time portal and follow Marle. They find out that her unexpected appearance has created some confusion, and proceed to fix the error, which in turn leads to unforeseen consequences, eventually compelling the heroes to travel to different time periods and change the history of the world.

Chrono Trigger is a Japanese-style role-playing game in which the player takes control of a party consisting of up to seven characters, developing the combat skills of its members and managing their equipment. There are no random encounters in the game: all the enemies are either visibly walking on the field maps and can be avoided by the player, or are waiting to ambush the party. No enemy encounters occur when the player navigates characters over the world map.

The game utilizes the ATB (active time battle) combat system from Final Fantasy games as one of the combat style selections offered to the player in the beginning. The other selectable battle mechanic pauses combat whenever the player accesses the menu, effectively removing the real-time element and rendering the battles fully turn-based.

As the characters grow in power, their parameters increase, and they learn new "techs" - special powerful attacks and maneuvers which cost them magic points to use in battle. Techs may target a specific formation of enemies (e.g. a line) and can be used tactically depending on the enemies' positioning in combat. Characters may execute techs individually or perform double or triple techs, where each character contributes a tech which is combined with one or two others to unleash a powerful attack.

Once player-controlled characters acquire the ability to travel freely between time periods, the game's plot develops in a non-linear fashion. From that point on the player may opt to face the game's final adversary in combat and complete the story, or perform other plot-related quests. Depending on the moment of the story when the player decides to proceed to the final battle, the game may be concluded with thirteen different endings. The New Game+ option allows the player to start the game anew after having previously completed it, carrying over levels, techs, and equipment of the characters.

The PlayStation version features an anime-style introduction movie and cutscenes, a "movie theater" mode which allows the player to re-watch these movies and listen to the game's songs, as well as an unlockable bestiary, dungeon maps, and art gallery. The Nintendo DS version retains these changes and adds two new dungeons and a new possible ending that foreshadows the events of Chrono Cross.

The Dragon's Crown is a legendary artifact that allows its bearer to control any dragon. The king of Hydeland has become obsessed with it and many adventurers have gone in a quest to find it. The game is set in a medieval fantasy world and has all 2D graphics, with a 3D depth. It has an exaggerated anatomy (such as big bouncing breasts and wide hips on females and exaggerated muscles resulting in a V-shape on male warriors, etc.) aesthetics. Rather than having dialogues, all of the game's story is narrated. The player controls a character chosen from one of six classes: Amazon, Fighter, Elf, Dwarf, Wizard and Sorceress. The characters have a few customization options: name, color palette, voice language, and the player can input text to create phrases for the characters to say when they are selected, meet another player, get defeated or are resurrected. Each class has its own set of skills and equipment. Some of these classes, like Dwarf and Sorceress, are made for more experienced players.

The town serves as a hub where different areas such as the Temple, the Adventurers Guild and the Castle can be accessed for different purposes. Exiting the town leads to the outside of Hydeland, where different levels, in which the player fights hordes of enemies in side-scrolling action until the area's boss is defeated, can be accessed. Loots and experience are rewarded after clearing a dungeon. The loot must be identified at Morgan's Magic Item Shop before equipping them. More locations, both in town and outside, unlock as the story progress. To go on quests, the player can be accompanied by up to three other adventurers, that can be AI controlled or controlled by other players, both online or offline. An additional character, a rogue by the name of Rannie, follows the adventurers in dungeons and helps with locked doors, chests and items hidden in the background. The player will sometimes stumble upon a pile of bones. These remains of fallen adventurers can be brought to Canaan Temple to be resurrected them or buried. The resurrected adventurers are the NPCs that will accompany the player, and they can be selected at the Dragon's Haven Inn. They must be reselected before each quest.

The main story line consists of gathering talismans that will allow the hero to be strong enough to fight an ancient dragon. Once the dragon is defeated, a new difficulty level is unlocked. In harder modes, the character's level cap is higher and all talisman quests must be redone in order to fight an even stronger dragon. Defeating the dragon in each difficulty level restores one of the goddess statues.

In the Adventurers Guild, requests can be taken. These request bestow experience and monetary rewards, as well as artwork shown in the game's gallery. The requests are completed by achieving certain prerequisites while revisiting the completed dungeons. The Guild is also where the player will learn new skills and view the gallery.

SBK: Snowboards Kids is a handheld remake of the console versions, where players can select any of eight different characters, racing down ski slopes, collecting power-ups along the way and attacking their opponents by completing tricks, building up their SBK meter, once full unleashing their unique attack on their opponents.

Players can also earn points by obtaining power-ups, being the fastest each lap, winning races and performing tricks. Players can use these points to buy and unlock more snowboards and racing gear to add to their collection. Four friends can also battle each other in multiplayer mode using single-card downloading.

When bounty hunter Jenosa Arma takes on a mission to investigate Planet Inos, a research center investigating an alien lifeform called Scurge, she gets more than she bargained for. While in orbit around the planet, she is attacked and quickly infected with the Scurge herself. Jenosa has no alternative but to land onto Inos, to investigate the Scurge and find a cure.

Scurge: Hive is an action game with some similarities in storyline to Nintendo's Metroid series. However, the game itself is significantly different from Metroid. As Jenosa, players must blast their way through Planet Inos while trying to constantly contain their own infection. While progressing through the game, Jenosa's 'infection meter' slowly increases (faster if she is standing on red patches of Scurge) - the meter can only be reduced back to 1% by using a Decontamination Platform, which also acts as a save point. Failing to temporarily cure Jenosa of the Scurge results in rapid depletion of life as the virus takes over, so players must complete mission objectives quickly!

Jenosa can earn experience as she blasts infected life forms; this experience will upgrade her firepower and health. Better weaponry can be found, as well as gadgets which help Jenosa access new areas. Some weapons are twice as effective on particular opponents; inversely, they are ineffective against other enemy types. It's up to you to figure out the best weapon for the right situation.

In Tenchu: Dark Secret, you play as Rikimaru or Ayame, two ninja who must protect a princess in feudal Japan. They do this through a variety of missions where they must sneak through areas unseen by guards and assassinate targets, which frequently takes the form of boss fights along with other types of missions, such as defense. Unlike the other games in the series, this is played from a top-down perspective.

The top screen serves as the main gameplay area where you see your character, environment, enemies, etc. It also has your chi meter which tells you how close the nearest enemy is and whether they detect you.
