Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies
Tasked with protecting a village, the player character along with other angels (celestials) are attempting to reach God's land. By helping and protecting his town and earning their thanks, the main character obtains enough benevolence for the World Tree to produce the Goddess Fruit. This fruit is the only sure way to enter God's land. Things don't go according to plan, taking the player into the adventure proper.
Dragon Quest IX marks a number of firsts for the series: it is the first title to be initially launched for a handheld system and to have no real random encounters (unless travelling over sea). Instead the player can see the enemies on the map. Even though the game isn't the first main series title in 3D, for the first time all equipable items are visible on the characters models at all times.
Furthermore, the game was created with the intent of having a multiplayer focus: players can bring their adventurers into their friends' worlds via wireless connection to play alongside them and even swap copies of their heroes which may bring special items like treasure maps with them. There's also downloadable content available through Wi Fi, like new items and quests.
Similar to previous titles, combat is turn-based, where the player selects tasks for each of the characters: attack, use item, cast a spell etc. Like in Dragon Quest III, all party members are created by the player; unlike the hero, they don't fulfil specific roles in the narrative and may be swapped at a special service available at inns.2 points -

The next installment in the Guilty Gear sci-fi fighting series, in which bio weapons called Gears fight among each other for ultimate supremacy and survival, as they escape the so called Holy Knights who aim to hunt down and destroy them.
As with previous games in the series the game involves tournament-styled battles between characters using their special abilities and moves. However for GG Isuka the battles are 2-on-2 instead of 1-on-1, taking place in multi-plane arenas (similar to Fatal Fury) and requiring the players to switch orientation manually.
Added features include two new characters (only one playable), new backgrounds and game modes including the new "Boost" mode, which turns the game into a 2D side scrolling beat 'em up.1 point -

2043. Dr. Clayborn and his army have gained control of New York and Commissioner Gordon made one last plea for help and called three of the finest city sweepers: Matt, an ex-professional football player; Rosa, a former female vigilante and Miss America pageant; and Zan, an ex-karate master and a retired philosophy teacher. They must fight every lackey and vanquish Dr. Clayborn in order to restore law and order to the city.
Go through the game's five stages, defeating enemies along the way and destroying the end-of-level boss before proceeding to the next stage. Along the way, weapons such as fish, rocks, i-beams, cars, and more can be used.1 point -
Resident Evil 2
Batigameuse69 a réagi à RomStation pour un jeu
Even though Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine were able to destroy the Umbrella corporation's undead monsters in the original Biohazard, Umbrella's experiments with the T-virus continued unhindered. Claire Redfield, the younger sister of Chris, and Leon Kennedy, a rookie cop on his first day of the job, arrive in the sleepy midwestern town of Raccoon City only to find the city in flaming ruins due to the inhabitants having been transformed into mindless flesh-eating freaks. Although Claire and Leon team up, they are soon separated and trapped inside the city by a car crash. Seeking refuge within the Raccoon City police station, each character must find a way to escape from the nightmare while solving the mystery of what happened to Raccoon City.
Besides the zombie population (which is much more diverse than the original, including teenage girl zombies, maniac cop zombies, and even melting naked zombies), Claire and Leon will also have to deal with a variety of freakish mutants including giant poisonous spiders, walking venus-fly-traps, and speedy wall-crawling Lickers. Each character will also be pursued by one seemingly unstoppable foe: a horrific and constantly evolving man-monster known as the "G-Type" (Leon's Scenario) , or a taciturn but inhumanly powerful Umbrella agent who is nonetheless saddled with the rather quaint name of Mr. X (Claire's Scenario).
Like the previous game in the series, Biohazard 2 is a 3D action-adventure using three-dimensional polygon characters over two-dimensional pre-rendered backgrounds, with the action viewed through a variety of cinematic fixed camera angles in each room. Just like the original Resident Evil, players can choose to play as one of two possible characters. Each character goes through the same initial scenario, but with differences in the type of weaponry they find and the people they meet along the way. Leon will team up with a mysterious woman calling herself Ada Wong, while Claire will find herself charged with protecting a little girl named Sherry Birkin.
Unlike the original Biohazard beating the game for the first time unlocks a second scenario to be played with the character you didn't choose, with new locations, maps, enemies, a longer and more climactic ending. Your actions in the first scenario can also affect the outcome of certain events in the second scenario. Additionally ammo and healing items are more plentiful than in the original game, although you still aren't given enough bullets to kill every enemy you meet.1 point -

As part of this training, the Rabbids must carry out several missions around the globe to help them in an attempt to dominate the world. The Rabbids will also try to study human behavior by mimicking everything we do... but in the Rabbid sort of way, with no logic... of course.1 point

JSRF: Jet Set Radio Future
cherylbag93 a réagi à RomStation pour un jeu
A follow up to the Dreamcast title Jet Grind Radio. The setting is Tokyo in the year 2024. Freedom is a valuable commodity and freedom of expression even more so. Gangs of misbehaving teens strap on rocket-powered roller blades and skate, grind, and mark their territory with graffiti tags.
Players take the role of the GGs, and can choose between any member of the gang, each with different stats, while in gang HQ. The city of Tokyo can be leisurely explored without a time limit, but the heat will be turned up when story missions are activated and the GGs find themselves being challenged by rival gangs or under attack from the cops. This time around spraying no longer requires thumbstick inputs; just roll up and start spraying away, although large tags still require more cans than smaller tags. Each section of the city has hidden objectives that are revealed by finding a hidden tape, and once completed these challenges will unlock new graffiti patterns.
In multiplayer modes players can challenge each other to races, point battles, and other competitions both in zones from the single player game as well as in special arenas.1 point -

Drakengard 3
In earlier times, the world was ravaged by endless war and conflict. The fighting only ceased when five sisters with godlike powers used their song magic to defeat the warlords and bring peace throughout the lands. These Intoners now rule over various parts of the world, where they are adored and worshipped by their subjects. However, there is a sixth and eldest sister, Zero, who wishes to kill her siblings and take their power for herself. One year after failing to defeat the other Intoners, Zero sets out with her dragon Mikhail to kill them one by one.
Taking place about a century prior to the first Drakengard, this game puts the player in the role of Zero, who can be accompanied by up to two AI characters who join over the course of the story. Gameplay is largely similar to other entries in the series, comprised of hack-and-slash fighting on the ground and aerial combat in which Zero rides Mikhail. Performing combos fills up Zero's Tension Gauge, which she can tap into to unleash her Intoner powers. In Intoner Mode, Zero's speed and attack power increase, and she becomes invulnerable to enemy attacks. Zero can use four different types of weapons: swords, bracers, chakrams, and spears, and each individual weapon can be leveled up the more it is used in combat.1 point -

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale
PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is a crossover fighting game featuring characters from various PlayStation titles and some third-party games, akin to Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. series. Up to four characters battle in side-view 3D arenas. Matches are not won by depleting health but by collecting orbs to fill a power meter, enabling the execution of super moves to defeat opponents and score points.
Game modes include a single-player arcade mode with a final rival battle and a showdown against Polygon Man, Sony's former mascot. There's also a challenge mode with specific objectives. Multiplayer modes offer time-limit matches, stock-based matches (last player standing), and kill limit matches. Cross-platform play between PS3 and Vita is supported, with a free Vita version available via cross-buy.
Each character has unique moves, throws, and special actions. Stages are themed around popular franchises, featuring dynamic environmental elements that affect gameplay. Offensive items can be picked up, and additional costumes can be unlocked for characters.

Sly Racoon
Annelise1996 a réagi à Sniffylechien pour un jeu
The game uses cutscenes to present the background of Sly Cooper, a raccoon descendant from a long line of master thieves who steal from other thieves. However, that lineage became crippled when a gang known as the Fiendish Five — led by Clockwerk, a cyborg-like owl with a hatred for the Cooper line — killed Sly's father, Conner Cooper, while Sly was eight years old. The gang also got their hands on the Thievius Raccoonus, a book recording the journeys and skills of every Cooper ancestor. The book was split into five pieces among the Fiendish Five and dispersed within their lairs. Broke and alone, Sly was then taken to the Happy Camper Orphanage, where he became close friends with the intelligent Bentley and the happy-go-lucky Murray. The three eventually left the orphanage and formed the Cooper Gang, pulling off amazing heists and robberies. Their activities attracted the attention of INTERPOL Inspector Carmelita Fox, who made it her mission to capture Sly, and he took a subtle, romantic interest in her.
Once Sly managed to steal a police file from Inspector Fox's office, he and his gang learned the location of each Fiendish Five member and then plotted together to retrieve the stolen book. The raccoon took down each villain in their respective lairs, recovering a majority of the pages from the book and reassembling it piece by piece until finally, he discovered the location of Clockwerk's lair, all the while being furiously chased by Carmelita. After an assault on Clockwerk's fortress with help from Bentley, Murray and even Carmelita, Sly was able to defeat Clockwerk and fully reassemble the Thievius Raccoonus. Carmelita, keeping her word on an earlier promise, gave Sly a ten-second head start. However, once those ten seconds were up, Sly suddenly kissed her, which was enough of a distraction for him to handcuff her to the catwalk on which they stood, allowing him and his gang to make their escape.
After the credits, a severely wounded and seemingly dead Clockwerk, opened one of his eyes, showing that despite his defeat, he was still somewhat alive, setting up the premise for the next game.1 point -

Resident Evil Code: Veronica X HD
After Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil: Code: Veronica receives a high-definition makeover, boasting 720p resolution. Despite its surprising choice for an HD remaster, this installment stands out for its intricate narrative and its status as a series milestone. However, the port does not fully capitalize on the potential enhancements. The game introduces 3D environments, departing from pre-rendered backgrounds, but fails to exploit this transition effectively, sticking to traditional fixed camera angles. Gameplay mechanics, reminiscent of early 2000s standards, feel outdated, with character movement notably cumbersome. Nevertheless, players can expect a lengthy campaign, lasting approximately 8 hours, with additional content including a first-person combat mode. Despite its technical shortcomings, the storyline remains a standout feature, offering a compelling narrative filled with twists and a distinctive atmosphere. However, the visual presentation disappoints, with textures appearing blurry, and a constant graininess detracting from the overall experience. Capcom's lackluster effort in this HD remaster falls short of paying homage to a beloved title in the franchise.1 point -
The Story of Thor 2

Long time ago, Reharl, the King of Spirits, fought the destroyer Agito. Both sides used powerful armlets - Golden and Silver. Many years later, a warrior named Ordan found the Golden Armlet. recognizing unseen powers in his apprentice Leon, Ordan gave the armlet to him. Leon must become the new King of Spirits and defeat Agito, who is believed to be in possession of the Silver Armlet. In order to gain the power of the six Spirits, Leon must descend into the Spirits' dungeons.
The Legend of Oasis is the prequel to Beyond Oasis, also known as The Story of Thor. Like its predecessor, it is an action game with role-playing elements. The gameplay is quite similar to that of Beyond Oasis. Leon can attack with melee weapons or use a bow for long-ranged attack. His armlet also allows him to summon spirits, who would damage the enemy or heal Leon. Instead of the usual experience points system the game features "ranks" (equivalent to levels); higher ranks increase the protagonist's hit points and can be gained by recovering his health multiple times.1 point -

Three months after the events of Resident Evil 2, Claire Redfield is still looking for her brother Chris. She infiltrates Umbrella Corporation's headquarters in Paris, where she is captured and knocked out. When she comes to, she finds herself in a prison on a remote island. Freed by a friendly guard, Claire faces several problems. Not only is the island under attack by an unknown assailant, but there has been another outbreak of the T-Virus and the island is crawling with zombies and other mutated creatures. Claire not only has to face the undead, but also the commander of the base, a mad aristocrat with family ties to the origins of Umbrella Corporation and the T-Virus. And escaping from the island is only the beginning of Claire's ordeals.
Code: Veronica continues the survival horror gameplay of its predecessors: the protagonist explores the surroundings, fighting monsters and solving puzzles. However, Code: Veronica is the first game in the series to do away with pre-rendered backgrounds, using a fully polygonal 3D engine instead, which allows for features such as real-time lighting and camera movement. Still, such movements are only used sparingly, and the use of perspective is mostly unchanged from earlier installments: the camera automatically switches to different static angles, showing protagonist, monsters and rooms from different spooky viewpoints.
Most of the weapons from the earlier games make return appearances: knife, handguns, shotgun, grenade launcher and crossbow are all featured. There are also new weapons including a sniper rifle, an AK-47 and several guns only found in pairs, which can be used to target two enemies at the same time. Several weapons upgrades can also be found.
Similar to the earlier games, the player will not only control Claire, but also two other characters: Claire's fellow prisoner Steve, and her brother Chris.1 point -
