shadowsi1 and one other reacted to GambierBae for a topic

Sid Meier's Pirates! Live the Life
pakal83 reacted to RomStation for a game
Sid Meier returns to his roots with this remake of Sid Meier's Pirates!, his 1987 game about sailing the high seas in search of treasure. As in the original, you will plunder cities, sink enemy ships, and more. A plethora of different styles of gameplay will have you sneaking out of prison, dancing with the governor's daughter, engaging in real-time strategic combat, and a slew of others.
Sid Meier's Pirates! features a new 3D engine, but its style of stringing several minigames together to make a congruent game remains true to the original.1 point -

Still unsated, he returned again to the Nexus, where he foolishly awakened the Old One from its eternal slumber. This long forgotten evil, now wrought upon Boletaria, plunged the realm into darkness and fog. A mighty demon horde poured into the kingdom, devouring the souls of men. Champions from other realms learned of Boletaria's fate and sought to deliver the kingdom from evil; none would return from the cursed land. On his way to the beach, Bugs Bunny accidentally finds and activates a time machine. Bugs Bunny is immediately propelled through five different areas in time and must find his way back to the present. It won't be an easy task, because blocking his way back to the present are some of the wildest troublemakers (Stupid Villians) he has ever known like Elmer Fudd, Witch Haxel, Yosemite Sam, Rocky and Marvin.
Bugs Bunny: Lost in Time is a 3D platformer. Stages do not succeed each other linearly, but can be accessed in different order by collecting clocks and golden carrots. Bugs Bunny must dispose of regular enemies and bosses along his way. There are also a few racing and chase segments.1 point -
Tourist Trophy: The Real Riding Simulator is essentially Gran Turismo on two wheels. You have about 120 licensed bikes and 30 tracks in a realistic motorcycle-racing simulation.
Of course, motorcycles don't handle like cars. This is reflected in-game by giving you control over your rider's side-to-side leaning to affect cornering. Of course, all the standard simulation elements of braking, positioning, throttle control and condition of your ride are important as well.
The game is divided into two main modes. Arcade mode allows you to do timed runs, quick races against AI opponents or split-screen racing.
The main mode, Tourist Trophy, first puts you through a series of licensing tests. Each license opens up a group of challenges or races. Each challenge or race corresponds to a motorcycle, which you can earn by winning it. There is no cash in this game. Some events also unlock further events, of course.
Bikes are customizable. You can set the tire compound, brakes, shocks, gear ratio and exhaust. Riders have even more options. Not only can they wear a variety of licensed clothing, their riding style is customizable, allowing you to adjust things like the position they take in leans, which affects handling.
In addition to these Tourist Trophy also features a photography mode, which allows you to take pictures of the game in action and save them to a USB flash drive or print them directly from a printer attached to your PlayStation 2.1 point -
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle

For this game the plot and the characters are adapted from the series' eight story arcs. The game modes include a story mode, a campaign mode, and a versus mode with competitive matches against another player both offline and in online ranked games.
In addition to regular special moves, each character can access additional moves via their Battle Style which, depending upon the character, can fall under one of six categories: Ripple, Vampirism, Mode, Stand, Mounted, and Baoh Armed Phenomenon.1 point -
Galerians: Ash
Nyuke reacted to TompouceGabriel for a game
Galerians: Ash continues directly the story told in the first Galerians. Five hundred years into the future, an ultra-intelligent mother computer named Dorothy was given the responsibility of managing humans' lives. However, the computer's mind told her the humans must be destroyed as weak, imperfect beings, and a race of super-humans, the Galerians, must be created. But Rion, the hero of the first game, destroyed Dorothy in a dramatic battle. Now Rion is brought back to life and learns that Dorothy was able to execute a destructive program before her death. Once again, Rion must face and defeat Dorothy's creations, the Galerians.
The gameplay is similar to that of its preceding game, complementing a traditional survival horror scheme with the protagonist's unique abilities. Rion can fight enemies using various psychic techniques. The more he uses a technique, and the more damage he sustains, the more "addicted" he becomes, and when the addiction meter reaches the limit, his hit points get gradually depleted, and he cannot walk normally anymore. Like in other survival horror games, the protagonist relies heavily on healing and restoring items. Enemies also drop items that would raise Rion's maximum hit points or make his weapons stronger, in a RPG-like fashion.1 point -
Need for Speed Undercover has players racing through speedways, dodging cops and chasing rivals as they go deep undercover to take down an International crime syndicate. The game heralds the return of high-intensity police chases and introduces the all-new 'Heroic Driving Engine' -- a unique technology that generates incredible high-performance moves at 180 miles per hour during breathtaking highway battles. A mix of computer graphics and live-action movies immerses gamers in the rich world of the Tri-City Bay Area. The citys open-world environment features over 80 miles of roads, including an enormous highway system that sets the stage for highway battles. These high-speed, high-stake chase sequences push players to the limit as they fight off cops and opponents while whipping through traffic at 180 miles per hour. An intelligent new A.I. mechanic delivers a realistic and high-energy action driving experience. Going back to the franchises roots, Need for Speed Undercover features more aggressive and intelligent cops whose sole purpose is to take down the player quickly and by any means necessary. Need for Speed Undercover also features the series' signature car customization, real-world damage and realistic driving physics. The game includes some of the hottest licensed cars such as the Audi R8, BMW M6 and Lexus IS-F.1 point

Landstalker : Le Trésor du Roi Nole
belgiumhc1 reacted to RomStation for a game
An experienced treasure hunter named Nigel is on a quest to obtain the valuable Statue of Jypta. After successfully recovering and selling the statue, Nigel meets wood nymph named Friday, who is being chased by a trio of thieves. The thieves assume that Friday knows the location of the mysterious treasure of King Nole. However, she does not appear to have the exact location in mind, and instead relies on her senses to track it. She offers Nigel to accompany him on a long journey and eventually lead him to the coveted treasure.
Landstalker is an isometric action game with platforming, puzzle-solving, and light role-playing elements. Much of the game is spent in dungeon-like hostile areas, where Nigel must often fight enemies, jump, climb ladders and ropes, and throw objects to overcome obstacles and solve puzzles. Nigel can acquire better weapons and armor, as well as items that permanently increase his hit points and strength. In towns it is possible to talk to non-player characters and buy items in shops. There are optional quests in the game, which may reward the player with attribute-increasing items.1 point -

Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!
IkaArt reacted to ChatNoirRetro for a game
Metal Slug
locomada reacted to RomStation for a game
Metal Slug, originally released on the Neo Geo, is a side-scrolling shoot'em'up.
The player(s) takes the role of a soldier (or two) and fights a gigantic army. Every level consists of running forward blasting anything that moves, while collecting power-ups along the way (there's also a wide selection of weaponry in the game). In the end of each level the player goes up against one gigantic boss.
The PlayStation port introduces some extra features: there is a combat school where the player may fight with other players for the best time on each level and an art gallery.1 point -
Zephyr Town's bazaar was once the grandest in the world, drawing customers and peddlers from all four corners of the Earth. These days, though, the bazaar has more tumbleweeds than customers. It's up to the player to turn its fortunes around! They'll raise animals, harvest crops, craft rare delicacies, and then sell their wares at their very own shop. If players can bring prosperity back to Zephyr town, its bazaar will thrive once again, packed with exotic wares that they can purchase to expand their farm!1 point

Primal
hanoumaan reacted to Anonymous0 for a game
Jen is the girlfriend of a metal rocker named Lewis, who have both been through rough times in the past together. A strange and powerful creature attacks Lewis after a concert and runs off into the night with him, leaving Jen injured and near-death.
Jen meets a short gargoyle named Scree, who informs her that she must leave the physical plane Mortalis and accompany him to the demon plane Oblivion. The creature who kidnapped Lewis and left her for dead is an agent of Abaddon who represents Chaos and has been locked in struggle for aeons with Arella, representing Order. The balance between Chaos and Order has been upset and it is Jen's task to restore the balance, all the while hoping to discover the whereabouts of Lewis.
Primal can be described as a "3D platformer", being somewhat similar in its basic gameplay mechanics to Tomb Raider games. Puzzle-solving and action-based combat constitute the focus of the gameplay. The player can switch between Jen and Scree at any time; Jen is capable of fighting, but Scree is invulnerable to enemy attacks. When Jen is incapacitated in combat, Scree must quickly restore her to life within a time limit; failure to do so prematurely ends the game.
Combat is heavily based on "finishing moves" and Jen's ability to transform into demonic forms. There are four demons Jen can merge herself with; they are obtained one by one as the game's narrative advances. These demonic forms allow Jen to use special abilities, which include jumping to extreme heights, unnaturally fast swimming, slowing down time, and using powerful weapons.1 point -
Shadow of Rome is set in 44 B.C. in Ancient Rome - a stunning yet brutal time when the republic had grown to be the dominating cultural force in the Western world. However, the Senate's rule began to cast a dark shadow on Rome's former glory as corruption and war-bred despair led to the rise of Julius Caesar, who exuded a confidence that would rally the people and lead them from turmoil. Then on the Ides of March Caesar was brutally assassinated in an act that changed the face of the Western world forever. Join Agrippa the Centurion and Octavianus, the stealthy brain, in an action/stealth game that goes deep into this conspiracy and to the heart of danger in an attempt to clear Vipsanius, Agrippa's father from the wrongful accusation of Caesar's murder.1 point
