Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is a third-person shooter spin-off of the Resident Evil series, departing from the survival horror theme of the main games. Set in a hypothetical scenario in September 1998, players control members of the Umbrella Corporation's Delta security team tasked with neutralizing Dr. William Birkin, who plans to sell the G-Virus to the American government. The game features a team of six characters with unique classes and abilities, and players can unlock more abilities and weapons as they gain experience. It combines shooting and cover mechanics, with opponents ranging from infected humans to unreliable mercenaries. Multiplayer modes include battles between USS and USSO teams and a Heroes Mode with famous series characters.
