Tales of Fandom Vol.2 is, as its name indicates, the new version of Tales of Fandom Vol.1 released in 2002 on PlayStation. The principle is the same: to gather the characters of the opuses of the license and to put them in scene in various conversations. At the time, only three titles were released, and this theatrical compilation was a real treat for fans curious to learn more about their favorite heroes; today, there are a total of eight titles in the series. However, Tales of Fandom Vol.2 curiously chooses to focus on only three of them: Tales of Phantasia, Tales of Symphonia and Tales of the Abyss. A disappointing decision which is however justified, since these three games all have the graphic style of Kosuke Fujishima, one of the artists working for the series. So, this Tales of Fandom is not a compilation of all the games created so far, but only those signed "Fujishima", often recognized as the best of the last years. As it was the case for Vol.1, Vol.2 is marketed in two different versions, the Luke version and the Tear version, thus leaving the player the only choice of the cover because the contents of the box remain unchanged.

The main interest of Tales of Fandom Vol.2 lies in the four main stories, each linked to a particular opus, which are accessible from a kind of continent on which a small character is walking. "An important place" takes place in the universe of Tales of Phantasia and takes up the mythical couple Ark-Chester, which was only approached in a way too light in Tales of Fandom Vol.1. A Last Symphony" is inspired by Tales of Symphonia and plunges us into the various reflections that led Kratos to confront Lloyd in front of the Seal of Origin, an opportunity for him to remember the ancient war with Mithos, Martel and Yuan. Testament - Mystearica" features Tear from Tales of the Abyss at different moments of her childhood, when she made her first promises to her sixteen year old brother Van. This story also introduces an entirely new character, the mysterious Cantabile... Finally, "Chronicle of the Rise of the Malkuth Empire" returns to the world of Tales of the Abyss to describe from Jade's point of view the aftermath of the fall of the outside world into the Qliphoth, detailing elaborate military strategies and dark plans to assassinate Emperor Peony IX...
