LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham is the third game in the LEGO series based on DC Comics characters. It expands beyond Gotham City into the wider DC universe, featuring heroes like the Justice League, villains like the Legion of Doom, and various Lantern Corps. The story revolves around Brainiac's plan to shrink Earth, requiring heroes and villains to unite against this threat.

In terms of gameplay, players control characters with unique abilities to combat foes, overcome obstacles, and solve puzzles. These abilities range from projectiles and explosives to x-ray vision and mind control. Non-superpowered characters can switch between various suits to gain new abilities. The game also includes shoot'em'up sequences and hacking scenes, along with side quests and races.

Over 130 characters can be unlocked, including DC characters and celebrities like Adam West, Kevin Smith, and Conan O'Brian, all voiced by their real-life counterparts. Collectibles are scattered throughout the levels and can often only be acquired in Free Mode using unlocked characters with special abilities.
