There are three gameplay options including the Arcade, Versus and Training modes. Players will face computer-controlled opponents in the story-driven Arcade mode; as always, each character has a unique storyline that unfolds with continued play. While the Versus mode will have you fighting against a human opponent, the Training mode is for novice players or those who wish to practice moves.

What fuels one's ambitions? Greed? Justice? In the end, it all revolves around whom you choose. Garou Densetsu: Wild Ambition holds a roster of several returning favorites along with new characters. The four core characters behind the main storyline are back in their usual roles: Terry and Andy Bogard, Joe Higashi and Geese Howard have returned. The queen of bounce, Mai Shiranui, is also back in the action. There are 10 fighters in all, each with their own unique fighting styles, combo attacks and special moves.
