Kane is en route to his execution with another prisoner named Lynch when their transport is attacked by former associates whom Kane believed to be dead. These attackers demand money from a previous heist, taking Kane's family hostage to ensure his cooperation. They've also enlisted the medicated psychopath Lynch to watch over Kane.

The game puts you in control of Kane from the moment the transport is attacked. Your goal is to free your family while battling police and special forces. You have access to various weapons, can give commands to Lynch, and interact with other organization members.

The game features an offline cooperative mode where the second player controls Lynch and an online multiplayer mode called "Fragile Alliance," where players must rob a bank with the option to betray teammates and take their money, marking them as traitors working against the team.
