Kanken DS 2 is an educative game published by Rocket Games in 2006, on the Nintendo DS. It is an official software based upon Kanken, a kanji test organised by the Japan Kanji Aptitude Testing Foundation. The test examines not only one's ability to read and write kanji, but also one's ability to understand their meanings, to use them correctly in sentences, and to identify their correct stroke order. Although the test was originally developed for native Japanese speakers, non-native speakers may also take the tests.

Kanken DS 2 is somehow an upgrade to Kanken DS, which had a few flows. It contains the following adds:

- over 44,000 questions available in the game's database;
- a larger character input space that recognises better writings, with settings allowing the player to select their dominant hand and the speed of characters recognition;
- a smart dictionary that permits one to seek for, compare and study sinograms;
- a test mode in which one can evaluate their knowledge;
- pre-first and first grade questions;
- new game modes based upon reading and writing;
- memorisation fuction.
