Mortal Kombat Advance is a port of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, with which it shares the story and the characters.

Mortal Kombat Advance contains all the fighters of the Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 versions namely:
Cyrax, Ermac, Jade, Jax, Kabal, Kano, Kitana, Kung Lao, Liu Kang, Mileena, Noob Saibot, Nightwolf, Rain, Reptile, Scorpion, Sektor, Shang Tsung, Sindel, Smoke, Sonya Blade, Kurtis Stryker, Sub- Zero and Classic Sub-Zero.

We will also find three hidden characters: Shao Kahn (the boss), Motaro (the sub-boss) and Human Smoke, human version of the cyber-ninja Smoke.
