A suggestion that would massivelly improve RomStation

Recommended Posts

Hello. I've been using RomStation for a few days and i really like this app. But there's something negative about it... And it's the fact that, currently, i've been unnable to configure my joystick for any of the games i've tried. So, if there could've a way to configure the controlls per game, to avoid troubles like not being to accelerate on games like Daytona Usa 2 or 18 Wheeler, whitout having to use any external app, that would've amazing. And im sure there's more than one of us who would love to see something like that

So far, it's happened in Supermodel, and in other emulator i had... But since i've suggested this, i've been abble to configure every game decently... But still, this would make it a lot easier, as well as possible to use other versions of emulators like Supermodel. Since, currently, i can only use 3.0a. But if this suggestion was an actual thing, i wouldn't have to worry about not being abble to open the r833 version, and not being abble to configure it

The thing is: to do that in romstation, you have to rework enterly every emulator or to have one emulator for each games. (you can already do that by your self by the way if you really want but it need you to setup that in romstation each time you want another emulator for a new game)

You can download the latest versions of emulators outside of RomStation then replace the old versions that are in RomStation's files with that of the new versions you downloaded. It's what I do and it works for me.

yeah but he just want multiple emulator for each of some games... so he need to do that multiple times for one console... Just for one game, i think it's a little useless do that inside of romstation.

Well... I've found a better way of doing what i wanted, just by using other emulators. It turns out that you can actually know the exact inputs of your joystick, just by using an emulator called "Model 2 Emulator". If you download it here, at RomStation, and then download a game *example: Sega Rally Championship*, then it's easy to configure the inputs, and you can see an almost 100% specific name of the desired input. Then, you note those down, go to the .ini file of Supermodel *which was the emulator that i couldn't configure to make it work on Sega Rally 2*, And from there you look at the already assigned inputs, and at your noted inputs. Then, whit some logic, you can configure the emulator pretty easily whit out depending of anything more than your notes and the file... So yeah. This feature is no longer necessary whit this cool trick i found
