Hong Kong 97 is one of those games that are unknown in Europe and in the United States, but that are cult in Japan. It is indeed part of the Kusoge, games so bad that they become cult, which also includes Spelunker. In this game, you play as Chin, a copy of Bruce Lee, who has to save Hong Kong from the threat of Tong Shau Ping brought back to life by a machine from hell.
What is interesting is that Tong Shau Ping was still alive in 1995, when the game was released, but he died in 1997, when the action of the game takes place.
This game is a shoot'em up where you have to shoot pistol bullets at the enemies that come in front of you, the goal being to make the best score possible, with a boss that comes back every 5 minutes...
