Yumimi Mix Remix tells the story of Yumimi, an ordinary girl who has been suffering from anemia since the day she saw strange creatures coming out of nowhere on her way to school. A story of parallel worlds, space-time holes to be sewn up and love for unicorns nicely told by the little geniuses at GameArts.

A classic adventure game (an overused term most of the time, I agree) with its multiple branches and endings (3 in total), Yumimi Mix Remix is however a simple port of the Mega-CD version, only the superb packaging and a mini solitary mahjong game justify the "remix" suffix adorning the title. Each completed board (40 in total anyway!) in the latter, revealing a new illustration to this remix version.
The other remarkable fact of this game is of course its graphic style with bright and shimmering colors. An original design by a veteran mangaka, well known on his land: Takemoto Izumi.

All those who could not play it on Mega-CD must try Yumimi Mix Remix. A real funny and refreshing little anime, fully dubbed, hardly marred by a few frankly anodyne disc outbursts; it's the perfect software to relax between 2 more copious games, preferably with all the windows open on a beautiful spring morning.
Once done, and if you feel like it, go for the wonderful Daina Airan, its "spiritual sequel" as they say, but truely powered by Sega Saturn.
