Scandal is an Adventure game, developed by Sugar & Rockets (The makers of the Yarudora game series for Playstation One).
Sony's first effort at interactive drama on PlayStation2 is a much bigger production than we'd heretofore expected. Scandal, the fifth "yarudora" game by internal developer Sugar & Rockets, is being produced with the assistance of one of the biggest names in the Japanese animation industry. Production I.G., the studio responsible for Ghost in the Shell, the Patlabor movies, and the upcoming Blood and Jin-Roh will be handling the animation duties, creating work of top theatrical quality for Sony's DVD adventure.
The story involves two freelance photographers (the hero, and associate Saki Kitazawa), who happen to take a picture that they probably would have been better off leaving alone. At first, it seems to simply be a famous musician in a compromising situation, fodder for the tabloid front pages, but more powerful organizations turn out to have a stake in its implications. Haejima, the scarred representative of a mysterious group, is only one of the shady types who turn up as the plot unfolds.
