Monster Maker is a popular card game that was first launched in 1989 and gained interest thanks to its easy-to-learn rules and friendly illustrations.

The game is divided into two titles similar to a Pokémon game, "Monster Maker 4: Flash Card" and "Monster Maker 4: Killer Dice", with some differences in gameplay and types of cards available. However, you can trade cards with friends that cannot be obtained on a single cartridge using a communication cable. Additionally, there are differences in the cards you can obtain depending on the protagonist you choose as well as differences in the quests that occur, so no matter which protagonist you choose, there is a unique fun to be had each time.

The protagonists, Rage and Yuma (Flash Card) as well as Shuu and Ami (Killer Dice), are sucked into the world of cards by a fortuitous chance and must take on various quests to save the country of Eingang threatened by the power of darkness.

The unique game system "Card Dungeon" is featured in this version. In this game, the AI generates a different labyrinth every time, and new elements and systems, such as a quest creation system where players can create their own adventures, and a deck of cards system that increases strategic gameplay.
