Metal Slug Advance introduces two new characters Walter and Tyra, two young recruits who have come to train on an island in the South Pacific. The training is short-lived when real mercenaries storm the place and turn the paintball simulation into a live-fire exercise. This is an opportunity not to be missed for Walter and Tyra. They will be able to prove themselves on the field, and prove their worth to their superiors. Anyway, they have no choice, it's either that or eating dandelions by the root. So you might as well put your heart into your work and kill the many soldiers on the island one by one.

On the whole, the game is based on the same rules as the series, i.e. a 2D shooter with destructive weapons and powerful vehicles. The sauce takes very quickly and we will have fun to shoot the friendly opposing soldiers through 5 levels only. Unlike the previous episodes, you only have one life to finish each level, but the new presence of a life bar and checkpoints judiciously placed will help you to progress and defeat the few mechanical bosses of the title.
