Elemix is an action shooting game for the GBA. It has a fantasy RPG-like world that seems designed for children, but it focuses on pure action with no growth elements or shopping systems. The enemies are tough from the beginning, and the later stages provide a good challenge.
The protagonist, Prince Skip, can transform into three forms: fire, water, and earth, using magic of each element to progress through the stages. Magic can be used not only for attacks but also to activate mechanisms, and during transformation, although for a very short time, Skip becomes invincible, serving as an emergency evasion tactic. The top-down perspective also reminds one of Valkyrie no Densetsu (though there is no jumping).
