Metroid II Map Hack

Metroid 2, now with a map!
Explore SR388 with a detailed map that keeps track of your position, items collected, acid levels (which lowers in real time) and metroids killed. Getting lost is a thing of the past!
Of course, being an uncharted planet, Samus won't have the map right from the beginning, but fear not! Obtaining the map is as simple as using a save point to unlock the current area map. Now you have no excuse for not being able to complete your mission to eradicate all metroids...
The map is an invaluable aid, but it won’t spoil the mission! Metroid locations only appear once you’ve encountered or defeated them, so you’ll still need to navigate the maze-like tunnels of SR388 on your own...
Map controls:
Dpad: Scroll map
A: Samus Screen
B: Toggle animated BG grid on/off
Select: Toggle Light Mode on/off
Start: Exit Map Screen
The map isn't the only new addition either. Some QoL improvements and bug fixes have been made to the game too!
New Features:
- Map.
- A proper file select screen has been added that displays all of Samus's data.
- When starting a new game, you can name your file with up to 5 characters.
- Although the map cannot be brought up during the final boss fight, basic pausing is at least allowed.
-Samus Screen for toggling abilities/beams
Bugfixes/Improvements:
- A bug in the Area 3 song data has been fixed, making the wave channel play/loop properly.
- The Area 6 theme that plays after a metroid is killed plays at the correct tempo.
- The second metroid nest theme in the final area plays if you leave and come back, instead of being a one-time thing.
- Killing a metroid larva makes the final boss roar and shake the screen briefly (Final boss also shakes the screen in the hallway before its room).
- Toggling missiles doesn't make the final boss flicker. The final boss and HUD are also drawn properly while exiting the room.
