Kaseki Sousei Reborn is a Game Boy RPG only released in Japan in 1998. It shares a lot of similarities with the Pokémon series.
The game makes you control a young man who's going to explore the whole world, followed by his animal, his courage, and a shovel. His stool allows him to find treasures and his animal to defeat enemies. As it gains experience points, it gets tougher as much battles he takes part in. There are two different environments in this game: towns and dungeons. If the later show monsters moving from space to space on the screen, the first are inhabited by friendly people and merchants.
