Grander Musashi RV

GameBoy Japanese
Grander Musashi RV

Genre : Fishing

Multiplayer : 1 player

Year : 1998

Developer : TOSE

Publisher : Bandai

Par Perichor :
It is a game adaptation of Super Fishing Grander Musashi, which is based on a manga and was also broadcast as an anime at the time. This work appeared in the second season of the anime version, when Grander Musashi RV was being broadcast.

There are tournament mode and free fishing mode. In tournament mode, you will compete for the total weight of the fish you catch. Matches will be played each season. In free fishing mode, you choose a season and a fishing spot to fish. If you meet the conditions that the opponent says, you will win and you can get the character's lure.

The unique thing is that it comes with a reel adapter, which allows you to play by spinning the reel just like you would in real life fishing. By the way, as a structure, when the reel is turned, the A button is pushed accordingly.

However, when it comes to how convenient it actually is, I don't feel like it's subtle. If you play only this work, you can wear it as it is, but if you don't, it takes time to put it on and take it off, so it seems like it's a hassle. In addition, what I'm doing is repeatedly hitting the A button, so when I actually play, I sometimes feel that it's quicker to do it myself. Thinking about it that way, the idea was interesting, but I couldn't say that it was practical. It may have been better than having a strangely dedicated controller and not being able to play without it.

As a fishing game, it feels indifferent. If you say that fishing games are like that, yes, but I don't feel any particular difficulty. Around here, it may be said that there is an original and considering the target age.

I don't know if it's related to this work, but on the same day, Bandai also released a fish finder called Pocket Sonar for Game Boy. Knowing that, I don't have a very special impression, but is it the time when fishing was popular? With that in mind, I thought it would be interesting to know that two weeks before the release of this game, Umi no Nushi Tsuri 2 was released on the Game Boy, and on the same day Bakutsui Retsuden Sho: Hyper Fishing.
