We're Back!: A Dinosaur's Story is an action/platformer game for Super Nintendo. Different from the game from the same work released on Megadrive, the SNES version includes the characters from the eponymous film but does not follow the plot of the latter. So in this version, Professor Screw Eyes kidnapped Louie and Cecilia. Having learned this, Captain Neweyes and the dinosaurs set off on a quest to save their friends by crossing several eras.

The gameplay takes on that of a side-scrolling platformer, allowing the player to embody Rex and progress through levels strewn with pitfalls. Rex has the opportunity to receive valuable help from his dino friends, namely Elsa, Woog, Vorb and Dweeb. On the other hand, powerups and items allow Rex to see his health improve or regenerate.
