Bushi Seiryuuden: Futari no Yuusha is an action-RPG game released in 1997.
You lead your hero to the directional cross, and use the A button to hit, the B to use your shield, the X to call a colleague and make him attack, and the Y to charge your ki. As for the colleagues, after a while you will be joined in your quest by other characters, but as this is not a classic RPG, you only lead one character at a time and not a team. The colleague can therefore be considered as a kind of bonus attack, in addition to the classic sword attack. As for the ki, it's all about increasing your power to unleash a devastating attack.
Fights are less numerous than in other RPGs. Moreover, the enemies are visible on the place you are exploring, and the fight only starts when you come on them, or when they come on you. Also, unlike other RPG-actions, the battles here take place on a dedicated screen, and not in the middle of the exploration.
For the rest, the game is quite classic. You will have to collect various items during your adventure, you will be able to chat with many NPCs, visit their houses. You will also have access to the menu by pressing Start, which will allow you, among other things, to manage your inventory.
