Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee 2 is the sequel to Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee with 12 new courses to play on ranging from a tropical island, a desert and even an oceanfront view. There are also 24 different golfers to play as well as five different caddies with the ability to customize them with over 300 different options such as clothes, hats and even hairstyles among many things. Players can also get an attribute boost by combining certain clothing styles to help them in their playing.

There are many modes to choose from, including Training Mode, Tournament Mode, VS mode as well as Multiplayer Mode with the ability to go online utilizing Ad-hoc and challenge up to 16 different human opponents online. Players can also unlock accessories and equipment by completing certain objectives and winning tournaments in the Challenge Mode to help further customize their character.
