- Choose from some of your favorite X-Men characters including: Cyclops, Colossus, Wolverine, Storm, Nightcrawler or Dazzler.
- Battle against the dangerous Sentinels and take on classic enemies like Pyro, The Blob, Wendigo, Nimrod, The White Queen, Juggernaut, Mystique and the master of magnetism himself, Magneto!

This release includes the 6-player and 4-player versions of the game as well as the American and Japanese versions.

- In the Japanese version, mutant power is used before health when using special moves, and when playing with more than one player, enemies drop items to replenish health and mutant power.
- In the American version, mutant power and health are only replenished by defeating bosses or continuing, but after defeating Magneto, it is possible to continue playing on a second loop.
