SSX is a game within the SSX series, featuring snowboarding adventures. Familiar characters and new ones join forces to tackle the 9 deadliest mountains. However, one team member opts for solo glory, breaking away from the group.

Gameplay follows the classic formula: speedy descents and trick combos to rack up points and fill the "Tricky" meter. This meter can be used for speed boosts or to activate Tricky mode for extra points and unlimited boost.

The game offers three modes: World Tour (campaign), Explore (free roam), and Global Events (online competitions). A new addition is the Survival mode with 9 challenges, such as navigating avalanches or low visibility.

Gear selection is crucial, with some items essential for specific tracks (headlamp for darkness, thermal pack for cold, etc.). In Global Events, players compete against recordings of other players' runs to improve their performance.
