Although Sacred 2: Fallen Angel is the successor to Sacred, it takes place 2,000 years before the events of the first game, in an Ancaria on the brink of war. The player's goal is to prevent this conflict, with the possibility of Light or Chaos prevailing in the end.

The game centers around T-Energy, a divine power once guarded by the Seraphim and later exploited by the High Elves, leading to a great war. The High Elves lost control, and a new empire based on T-Energy was established, creating rising tensions between the nobility and clergy.

Players can choose from six characters, including the returning Seraphim and five new classes like the Dryads and the Inquisitor. Class choices affect the campaigns and available gods. Each god grants powerful spells with long cooldowns.

The gameplay remains similar to the original: players complete quests, fight creatures for experience and loot, and upgrade skills. Runes enhance character talents, and powerful combos can be created. The game also features multiplayer modes, including PvE, PvP, and network play options.
