Battlefield: Bad Company is a war-themed first-person shooter, exclusively developed for console platforms. The game follows a squad of deserters from the 222nd Army battalion, considered unruly troublemakers. Set in fictional Middle Eastern countries, the squad faces Russians, Middle East coalition soldiers, and Legionnaire mercenaries. Players control protagonist Preston Marlowe, who can use a health injector at will. The Frostbite DX engine enables extensive destruction of objects and buildings, altering the cover dynamics. Multiplayer features a ranking system unlocking weapons progressively. The base game includes the Gold Rush mode. Through events like newsletter subscriptions or pre-orders, players could unlock five new weapons: F2000 assault rifle, USAS-12 shotgun, M60 machine gun, QBU-88 sniper rifle, and silenced UZI submachine gun.
