X-Men Origins: Wolverine is an action game on DS. In parallel to the movie of the same name, it offers you to discover the origins of the character of Wolverine, from his escape from the bunker where he underwent an adamantium transplant to his passage in the African jungle. The combat system includes combos, but also particularly brutal finish-moves.

The story is presented in the form of comic book style still images with text dialogue. It is based on the engine made for Spider-Man: Web of Shadows.

The game is divided into six acts. Wolverine must traverse 3D levels and defeat enemies. Attacks raise a rage meter. Once it is full, you can activate a ferocious mode. You can then attack any enemy on the screen using the stylus. He can also search for hidden scents, which he can follow to find new combos to unlock. Like in the comics, Wolverine has a mutant healing factor, so all he has to do is avoid being damaged for a certain amount of time to heal. There are also a number of hidden costumes to unlock, some of which are not present in the console versions.
