Deca Sports DS is the first game of the Deca Sports series to get on an handheld device, specifically the DS.
This time the ten playable sports are:* arm wrestling
- Bobsled
- Cheerleading
- Clay pigeon shooting
- Climbing
- Golf
- Rugby
- Sepak takraw
- Sky-diving
- Table tennis
Deca Sports DS makes use of entirely specific touch-screen-based controls. (Sepak takraw is akin volleyball played by feet.)
Likewise as in the previous instalments, there are game modes for the single player (which include a single match, a one-sport bracket-style tournament, minigames, and the big competition in the league versus six teams in all sports at once), multiple players (through the Wireless DS, requiring one Game Card only for 2-to-6-players competition or cooperation in a single match or tournament). The Locker Room is back as well, allowing to customise various aspects of teams and the players, offering a set of tutorial videos and a log of the best recorded performances.
