Valheim : How to activate crossplay

Hello, a friend is trying to join us on a Valheim dedicated server but in game he receives an impossible connection message. We are all on steam and he is on gamepass so I imagine that is the cause of the problem. Is it possible to activate crossplay and if so how? Thank you for your answers.
