Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is a game in the Metal Gear series set four years after Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. The gameplay features fast-paced action with cyborg ninja Raiden as the protagonist, working for a private military company. After sustaining severe damage on a mission, Raiden investigates a rival corporation. The game employs hack-and-slash combat, with Raiden's high-frequency blade as the primary weapon and the ability to dismember enemies to collect resources. Stealth is less emphasized compared to previous entries, with linear levels and minor exploration elements. Outside of the story mode, players can unlock virtual reality missions and concept art by finding hidden chests.
