Zentrix is a 3D-CG Chinese animated TV series directed by Tony Tong and Felix Ip under the Hong Kong based company Imagi Animation Studios. The original story was written by Tony Tang, Benny Chow, Felix Ip and Francis Kao.

The series is set in Zentrix City, a seemingly "perfect" city. Emperor Jarad is a respected scientist who created a super-computer called OmnicronPsy, which manages all of the city's higher and day-to-day functions, controlling a wide variety of machines and robots, allowing humankind to live a seemingly "perfect" life.

However, OmnicronPsy, using its super-intelligence, decides that it would make a better ruler than Jarad, and breaks his coding that stops him from revolting. Discovering this, Jarad and the scientist Dr. Roark plan to head back in time 7 years to stop the revolt from ever happening. To do this they plan to shut down the six Zentrium chips that power OmnicronPsy. First however, Jarad takes precautions and develops two fighting robots - Zeus and Quantum. Zeus is then chosen over Quantum as the protector of his daughter, Princess Megan, should his mission in time fail. Following this, Jarad and Roark head back in time.

Jikuu Bouken Zentrix is based on the popular anime of the same name, featuring more than 15 playable characters. You can use both physical attacks and weapon attacks, as well as super combos when the power gauge fills up. Zentrix also features animated clips from the TV series.

In the man-made utopia of Zentrix, things are getting a little hairy. A massive computer known as OmicronPsy which controls the city has turned against its human masters and only a stint through time can change things. To effect such change, robots battle against each other in fast-paced 3-D fights. Modes in the game include a story mode which follows the events of the animation, free battle, survival mode, and a training mode for newbies.

Cinemas consiting of beautifully rendered CG models relay the storyline in the story mode of the game. When it's time to battle, the bots slash, kick, and punch with fluid animated moves. Combo attacks are available where an opponent gets knocked out a succession of chained blows. Killer hits and combos that end in dramatic slow motion are also available for an impressive K.O. Since it's robots and not humans that are fighting, the clank and din of metal on metal chimes throughout each match for added ambiance.

Based off the popular Zentrix cartoon. Following up on the show, the game allows players control over a robot of their choice in high speed battles. Making use of combos and special attacks, your goal is to bash away at your opponent in one-on-one fights. You can equip weapons and armor, increasing your robot's stats during battle. Zentrix features a number of modes, both free fighting and story based. In the scenario mode, you play through a series of stages which follow the storyline of the original title and features a number of event scenes. Free battle, survival and training modes are included for the fighting purists. Those interested in raising their own robot can try out the Dice Mode which plays like a board game -- characters raised in this mode can be used in free battle.
