Psycho Soldier is a 1986 release by SNK. It is a side-scrolling shooter featuring two-player simultaneous play. The major character is a girl named Athena. She fires blasts of psychic energy as her main weapon. She can collect orbs which she can control telepathically. These orbs protect her from some projectiles and can also be launched at targets. The orbs will explode on impact. Her companion, a boy named Kensu, can help her with his own powers. Together they clean up a ruined city full of monsters and mutants.

Si vous tendez bien l'oreille, la mélodie a été repris plus tard dans The King of Fighters '94, '96, et '97 dans les stages d'Athena.

L'héroïne de Psycho soldier se nomme Athéna. Elle est la réincarnation de la déesse Athéna du jeu éponyme Athena. Dès 1994, elle intègre "The king of fighters". Une licence de vs fighting qui regroupe les personnages de "Fatal Fury", "Art of Fighting" et autres jeux phares de SNK. D'où l'utilisation de la musique de Psycho soldier dans les stages de Athena. Athena est une artiste martiale, Idol et détentrice d'un pouvoir. Ca fait un bon CV, non ?
