This game basically is a puzzle game about flipping panels to make paths to get to an exit panel. Honestly, if I didn't like this game it'd end there but it doesn't.

Plotwise, the game is kinda simple. It's just our hero Kesamaru saving his girl from a baddie who whisks her to his big ol' castle but with a twist: There's two freaking ones you have to conquer to get to her! This is done in smaller levels which there are 14 of each with a boss puzzle level at the end to progress. That equals 42 levels total out of 3 castles. The difficulty of the levels vary from simple to almost Zelda level hard in some cases. Control wise all that matters is the A button to flip panels and B to use powerups such as a 4-way shuriken, bombs, potions that grant invinciblity for a few seconds, and one that reverses your controls for a bit which can be bad in levels with pitfalls which is instant death. You have no HP and touching enemies, getting hit by attacks and enemies can flip panels and knock you into next week can all kill you in one shot so be careful. There a matching type minigame after you complete the first couple of levels in a castle to farm for lives and lives are easy to obtain in this game as each levels has an decent amount of scrolls and 10 earn you one life. I managed on this playthrough to get 99 and stuck with those to the end.

One downside to this game is that it doesn't tell you how easy or hard the level is and you often walk in blind to the situation but if you analyze it carefully, you can easy figure out the solution which is simple in the sense of, find key under panel and get to door without dying. Level progression is that simple up until the bosses which are more complicated in that you must pull a switch to kill it but you have to find it first while evading attacks.
