Mahou Kishi Rayearth 2: Making of Magic Knight est un jeu différent des autres jeux de la série des Magic Knight Rayearth tout en étant considéré comme une suite.
Alors que les autres jeux sont des RPG, ce jeu est un jeu de stratégie.

Le principe des joueurs est de former Hikaru, Fuu, et Umi pour devenir en fin de compte un Magic Knights.
