Katekyō Hitman Reborn! Dream Hyper Battle! is a 3D fighting game based on the anime Reborn!, and developed by the company that produced the show specifically to promote it. It features a story that spans from the beginning of the series, when average middle school student Tsunayoshi Sawada is first told by the notorious assassin Reborn that he is next in line to lead a mafia family, to the attack of Mukuro Rokudo's Kokuyo Gang.

The gameplay itself is in the style of a one-on-one brawler, where players are able to travel around an open area as they battle their opponent. Every character has the ability to dash, block, and call in support, with other abilities being unique to each character. Additionally, every character can enter Dying Will Mode upon filling a gauge at the bottom of the screen, giving their character greater strength, along with a special move that may be activated upon the complete loss of the opponent's health. Two main modes are available for play: Episode mode, which contains scenes and dialogue from the anime, or Dream Hyper Battle! mode, which gives the player freedom to battle with and against all unlocked characters. Playable characters include Tsunayoshi Sawada, Hayato Gokudera, Takeshi Yamamoto, Kyoya Hibari, Dino, Lancia, Ken Joshima, Chikusa Kakimoto, Mukuro Rokudo, and Xanxus.
