Cubic Lode Runner is one of the games from the Hudson Selection series... Lode Runner is a fairly big franchise that started many decades ago already. This is the first 3D game in the series, not counting the N64 version (which is a bit strange compared to the rest of the games). You can consider this to be the hardest of the series, thanks to the 3D element that it has to offer. Even though it might've sounded like a good idea on paper, the execution of it is quite horrible. They decided to go back to 2D Lode Runner again after this, so that means something.

The goal is to collect all of the gold. You can dig cubes away but only the cubes around you. This provides challenging puzzles and even more so now that the game is in 3D. Try to get all of the gold while constantly being chased down by enemies that never stop spawning no matter how many times you kill them. Once all gold is collected, a new ladder appears which has to be taken to the top to advance to the next stage.
