Super Mario World - The After Years est un hack de Super Mario World.
De nombreuses années son passé, après que les anciens héros de Mushroom Kingdom n'étaient plus, un étranges événements commenca à avoir lieu avec l'apparition d'un nouvel antagoniste: Nova.
Un jeune garçon du nom de Mute a été recruté par la nouvelle princesse du Royaume Champignon pour aider à combattre sur ce qu'il reste de la terre. Mais a t-il ce qu'il faut pour vaincre Nova?

Ce jeu est le premier épisode d'une série de 4 jeux s'intitulant "Super Mute World Series"

Au début, je m'ennuyais... Puis l'histoire a commencé et je me suis laissé embarqué. Les niveaux, décors et monstres sont devenus de plus en plus distincts du jeu Super Mario World. Et c'est là que j'ai commencé à accrocher. Autant de niveaux que dans l'originel, je les ai dévorés. Ça fait très Kingdom Hearts au niveau du scénario et de l'approche.

 

Points forts, l'utilisation des musiques, qui sont géniales : Mega Man, Final Fantasy, Secret of Mana, Zelda, Donkey Kong... Un jeu qui monte vraiment crescendo pour finir en apothéose.

 

Défauts. Souvent les niveaux ne sont pas finis tout en haut, on peut passer à travers les décors. Le gameplay de la cape perdu en partie (mais qu'est-ce que Mute est classe avec !). Yoshi aussi, mais c'est bien expliqué par l'histoire... J'ai eu quelques bugs de morts bloquant le jeu dans des niveaux spécifiques. Dommage qu'on ne sache pas à quoi ressemble Ceil et Lumine.

 

À noter que le jeu se suffit en lui-même, malgré plusieurs suites.
