Events basically refers to the scenes which play out during the video game and do not occur during mission play. This is also the last section that remains fully in Japanese, as every other section is already in English (or in the case of the Network, in "Engrish"). As such, this script is meant to be used in conjunction with the video game's Patch 2 release. HOW TO USE THIS GUIDE --------------------- Basically, all scenes that are shown in the game will be noted to some degree in a chronological format. For example, if there is a mission or a special event (see the FM2_Readme file from the Patch 2 zip for more on this), then their occurrence will be noted. However, their dialogue will not be shown since it will already be in English, provided Patch 2 has been applied. For the dialogue in the full-motion videos (FMV) for Front Mission 2, a link to the subbed versions on YouTube will be noted. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 00 [IN00] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SPECIAL EVENT 00 - Opening http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D90ZQn8nf4E ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SPECIAL EVENT 01 - The Coup Outbreak ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ O.C.U. MDF RIMIAN BASE: (Ash's Room) Ash: The alarm? What the!? (Move to the Hangar) Amia: Ash! This is bad! It looks like an assault by the Alordesh military! Ash: Why the hell would the Alordesh military attack an O.C.U. base!? Amia: I don't know! Right now, we've just got to join the fight! Ash: Got it, let's move out. Roughly how many enemies are there? Joyce: I don't know how many, but there's wanzers and some battle helicopters too! (Upon leaving the area) Joyce: You ready to go? (Select YES) Ash: Alright, let's do this!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 01 - O.C.U. MDF Rimian Base ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 01 [IN01] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ BATARI FOREST: Joyce: Well, looks like we lost them. What do we do now? Ash: You manage to contact any other bases? Joyce: Nope. No matter which one I try to contact, there’s no response. It’s strange. Like we’re the only ones left in the whole world. Ash: Well something’s strange...Joyce switch to civilian radio frequencies. Joyce: Got it... Announcer: ...At dawn today, forces lead by Alordesh Military Lieutenant Colonel Ven Mackarge captured a great number of anti-coup forces and O.C.U. military personnel. Among those captured was the head of the Alordesh Military, General Gwianda, and it seems likely that the coup will succeed. The coup leader, Lieutenant Colonel Ven Mackarge, has declared the People’s Republic of Alordesh entirely independent from the O.C.U., and has stated that if the Alordeshi government and the O.C.U. Central Parliament do not recognize this independence, the safety of his hostages cannot be guaranteed. Ash: Ven Mackarge... Amia: You know him? Ash: There’s no one I don’t know in the Alordesh military. Amia: Right, you were in the Alordesh military. Joyce: Don’t worry about that. Let’s think about a way to get out of this country. (A map is opened) Ash: This is the shortest route to the border. Joyce: But, if we go this way, we have to go through the O.C.U. Ground Defense Force’s Ramanston Base. Amia: We might run into the coup d’etat forces. Ash: Even so, if we take any other route it’ll take a hell of a long time to reach the border. It’d be even more dangerous. Joyce: I guess we don’t have much choice then. But, we only took out a few of the enemy wanzers. How are we going to deal with the next bunch? Amia: Don’t worry about that. I grabbed some repair equipment, ammo, and wanzer parts when we fled the base. Ash: In any case, we should try to avoid battle as much as possible until we reach the border. (Upon leaving the area) Joyce: Well, is it time to move out? (Select YES) Joyce: I’m praying we don’t get spotted by the enemy! Ash: Yeah, I don’t want any problems until we reach the border. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 02 - O.C.U. GDF Ramanston Base Environs ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 02 [IN02] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ O.C.U. GDF RAMANSTON BASE ENVIRONS: Thomas: Well then, let’s get down to business. You guys are Marines? Ash: That’s right. Thomas: So, you guys must have fled from the coup d’etat forces who attacked Rimian Base right? Ash: Yeah. Thomas: So, you’re heading over to the border by Feni river? Ash: That’s right. Thomas: Well, then you’ll be completely eradicated. Joyce: What!? What the hell are you talking about!? Thomas: The coup d’etat forces have helicopter patrols flying out of Ramanston along the border. You’ll be spotted for sure. Joyce: ... Amia: Well then, how can we escape the country? (A map is opened) Thomas: Basically, we need to head for the capital – Dhaka. Joyce: Whoa, whoa, hang on General. Dhaka is bound to be swarming with coup d’etat forces. Amia: What’s more, the border is right here. But, we’d be heading straight for the interior. Thomas: Don’t worry, I’ve got an acquaintance in the Dhaka suburbs. If we meet up with him, I can get him to help us escape the country. Ash: Can we trust him? Thomas: More than you can trust me! Gwahahaha! Ash: ... Thomas: Hey, hey, don’t be so nervous! I don’t wanna die, so I’m not gonna tell ya any lies. Ash: So, what do we do? Joyce: Well, he is our superior officer. Why don’t we try trusting him? Thomas: Yeah, that’s more like it! Gwahahahaha! (Upon leaving the area) Thomas: Well, should we be heading out then boys? (Select YES) Thomas: Alright, let’s move! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SPECIAL EVENT 02 - Saribash Labra ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SARIBASH'S HOUSE: (Reception Room) Saribash: You must be tired. Make yourself at home. Saribash: So, you guys want to flee the country right? Before the coup forces catch you, that is. Thomas: That's right Saribash, help us out will ya? Saribash: Hang on, I'll do whatever I can. However, we've got our hands full with our own problems right now. Joyce: Are you throwing your lot in with the coup forces? Saribash: Watch your mouth!! Are you trying to say I'm selling weapons to Ven!? Thomas: Whoa, whoa. Calm down, Saribash. Saribash: Anyhow, you guys will have to help me out with my problems. If you do, I'll return the favor. Amia: You're asking us to help out the mafia? Saribash: Thomas is my friend, but you guys are a different story. That's why I expect you to put some effort in if you want my help. Joyce: ... Saribash: It looks like we both need some time to calm down... Lila! You here!? Lila: What is it, Papa? Saribash: Would you show them to the guest quarters? Lila: Of course. Please come this way. (Move to the Guest Room) Lila: Please relax and make yourselves at home. Thomas: Well? What's the matter with you guys? Amia: Haven't you heard that Burg Shomity sells arms smuggled out of the O.C.U. to foreign countries? I'm not interested in helping with smuggling. Joyce: I don't trust this guy either. He might sell us out to the coup forces. Thomas: It's only because you guys don't know Saribash that you'd say that. Amia: I want to get out of this country as fast as we can, but I'm not about to stick my neck out for the mafia. Thomas: But, what if helping Saribash is the best way to get out of here? Amia: That's... Ash: Is that the truth, Thomas? Thomas: It's definitely better than us trying to get to the border by ourselves. Roswell: I agree with Miss Amia. After all, I always defer to the will of a beautiful woman... Amia: ... Rocky: ... Ash: ...Rocky? Rocky: Yeah, what's the matter, Ash? Ash: You know me from somewhere? Rocky: Nah, it's nothing...anyhow, I agree with Thomas. That's all I've got to say. Thomas: Ash, you're from Alordesh right? You should know just who Saribash is. Ash: So you knew... Thomas: What, I just figured it out from the way you talk. Ash: ...Saribash is considered a hero in this country. Since he's the only one willing to stand up to the O.C.U. ...but, I'm not for Alordesh or the O.C.U. I just want to survive. Thomas: Hmm... Joyce: I don't trust the mafia. No matter what reason they give, I won't help them! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SPECIAL EVENT 03 - An Independent Alordesh ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SARIBASH'S HOUSE: (Guest Room) Ash: Joyce! Thomas: Joyce, it seems Ash and the others have made up their minds. They're going to take Saribash up on his offer. What will you do? Joyce: I'll do what needs to be done...I'm fine either way...I'm gonna hit the hay. Ash: Joyce... Thomas: It's decided. Well, I think I'm gonna get some shut eye too. (Reception Room) June 13, 2102 - 7:00 AM Thomas: So, that's why we've decided to take you up on your offer, Saribash. Saribash: I see. You're going to help me out, eh? ...When I got angry...last night, well I'm sorry about that. Joyce: ... Ash: It's fine. We were never too caught up on it. Saribash: Okay, good. Go get ready then. Oh, and this is data on the coup d'etat forces at the objective. I'll definitely help you out to take a look at it on the network. Saribash: Well, hurry up and get your preparations done. (A map is shown) Saribash: The objective is in Dhaka - a storage facility owned by my company. Rocky: Company? Saribash: Burg Shomity is just a name the media made up. Our real name is Burg Transportation. That's my shipping company. Amia: What's in the facility? Saribash: Weapons I took from the O.C.U. Ven will definitely try to come after them. We're out to take as many of the weapons as possible before he does. Ash: What's Ven's beef with you? Saribash: That's got nothing to do with you. Just protect the transport truck we'll use to move the weapons. Amia: We're going to be the only guards for the convoy? Saribash: My employees will be making a diversion. It doesn't seem like the coup forces have an HQ in the capital, so our forces should be more than adequate. Thomas: The coup forces are short of men...huh? Saribash: In any case, I'll give ya 1000 up front. You can do your setup in the basement of the building. But, it'll cost ya. Roswell: What, it's not free? Man, you're cheap. Saribash: You guys are looking for a way out of the country, right? This should be more than enough for that. Thomas: Haha, you never change. Alright, let's get ready to fight, you bums! (Move to the Hangar) Hangar Manager: I heard from the boss. But, I'm not gonna lower the prices for ya just 'cause you're the boss' pals. Oh, that's right. Here, I'll give you this. It's the address and password for our company. You can get parts anywhere in the country by using our online shopping service. (Return to the Reception Room) Saribash: Thomas, I'm sorry...but I've got one more favor to ask. Thomas: Favor? Well, spit it out then. Saribash: This country needs me. I can't die right now. The revolution has put my life in danger. So, I formed a guard unit to protect me, but their training just isn't going well. So, I was wondering if you guys could... Thomas: You want us to train your forces. Saribash: Yes. I believe pros like you guys could turn the Saribash Unit into an elite fighting force. So how about, will ya train them? Of course, I'll pay you a nice instructor's fee. Thomas: Instructor's fee eh...well, I guess that'd make me a teacher. Saribash: That's right. I'd like you guys to teach my unit. Thomas: Hey, hey, hang on a sec. I don't look much of a teacher, do I? Wouldn't she fit the part a lot better? Amia: No way! I already said I'm not interested in helping the mafia, didn't I? Thomas: That's it! I thought you could save face for me. Amia: "No" means no! Joyce: Hey now Amia, if you agree to train the Saribash Unit, I'm sure you'll be put out of your misery pretty quick. No doubt about it. Amia: That's not much of a reason. Thomas: Oh come on! It can't be that hard to do. Amia: It's not like you've got much to begin with, but I guess it can't be helped. Saribash: So, you'll do it for me!? Let's head over to the Agit training room in the basement then. (Move to the Training Room) Saribash: Hey! Is Ace here!? Bodyguard Captain Ace: Heya Bossman! You got a job for me? Saribash: I've got a tutor for you guys. Bodyguard Captain Ace: We don't need no tutors, boss man. Saribash: You moron! Don't you understand I can't even send you off to fight at your current level of skill? Bodyguard Captain Ace: Ouch. Sorry 'bout that boss man! Saribash: Miss Amia here will be your tutor from this day forward. She's an expert in battle, so listen to what she has to say. Bodyguard Captain Ace: H-hey... Saribash: If you increase their level by just one point I'll up your teacher's wage. I'll give Ace the money, so you get it from him. Here's the 200 for the first class. Give it your all for me. I'll leave things up to you, Amia. You can find me in my room. (Ask Ace for an explanation of training) Bodyguard Captain Ace: How to train me? Man, cut it out already, Miss Amia. How the fuck am I supposed to know that? If you don't know, then why would the boss man hire you? (Ask Ace for his current level) Bodyguard Captain Ace: Our level? You don't even need to look it up since it's rock bottom zero. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SIMULATOR MISSION - Saribash's House ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SARIBASH'S HOUSE: (Training Room) Bodyguard Captain Ace: Miss Amia, it looks like our level has gone up to 1. And you get $300 from the boss man. You're looking to get out of the country, right? This should be more than enough for ya. (Return to Reception Room and head out) Amia: Joyce, why did you choose to take Saribash up on his offer? Joyce: Oh, it's nothing...I'm not doing it for Saribash. Like Ash, I just don't want to die. Thomas: Well, ready everyone? (Select YES) Thomas: Alright, let's move out! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 03 - Downtown Dhaka ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 03 [IN03] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DAUKANDEI: Amia: Are all the towns in this country like this? Ash: What do you mean by “like this”? Amia: So gloomy with trash scattered everywhere. Ash: ... Lila: I am glad to see you are safe everyone. Thomas: Hey, Lila, you came to meet us? Lila: My father is waiting in his office. Joyce: His office? Thomas: She means the Agit base. The sign on the door says “Burg Transportation” though. Lila: Please come this way. (Move to Agit) Thomas: Is Saribash in the reception room? Lila: Yes...but, Thomas...you should know my father is very... Thomas: I’ve got it. He’s in a bad mood right? No worries, it’s because the town was so smashed up after all. Lila: ... Thomas: Don’t worry, it’ll be fine Lila. Well everyone, let’s head into the office. Joyce: Lila...I’m sorry about bringing up such a nasty topic last night... Lila: Oh no, it’s fine. Don’t worry about it. Joyce: Yeah...well then I’ll be going. Lila: Right. (Move to the Reception Room) Thomas: Hey, do me a favor and calm down will ya? Saribash: Calm down!? This is no joke, Thomas. Ven...that dirty bastard bombed the capital! How many civilians do you think died out there!? Thomas: I understand Saribash, I understand. Saribash: ...fuck, was it my fault because I wanted to move those smuggled goods? Thomas: ... Saribash: Thomas...here’s your payment...but don’t leave just yet... Amia: What about getting out of the country? Saribash: Just give me some time...I can’t think straight right now... Thomas: I got it. Come on everyone let’s give him some time alone. ...Huh? What happened to Rocky and Roswell? Ash: They took off to have some drinks just as soon as we got into town. Thomas: Ha, those two are hopeless. Well, why don’t we go join them? (Return to the city) Ash: ... Thomas: What’s got you so spaced out? Ash: Hm? Oh, it’s just that the town I was born in is close to here...I’m, you know... Thomas: Hrm, your hometown eh? ...it’s like a microcosm of this whole country. Rusted out buildings, lifeless markets, streets filled with the poor...everyone at a loss for what sort of future they might have... Ash: What made Ven so determined to launch his coup...? Roswell: Heya, Thomas. Thomas: Where’d you guys run off to? Roswell: We found an arena! Thomas: An arena? For wanzers? Roswell: We came to get ya, Thomas. Miss Amia too, of course. What about you Ash? You wanna hit up the arena? (Select NO) Ash: Nah, I’m alright. Amia: I don’t want to go either. Joyce: I’ll pass too. I’m pretty beat. Thomas: Got it. Well then, we’ll head there by ourselves. (Move to the Underground Hangar) Hangar Manager: The new Leonora Enterprise models are in. Here, this is Leonora’s network address. You can load your wanzer for bear, but a lighter load out will let you move faster. (Move to the Half Moon Bar) Bartender: This is just between you and me, but you should know the Alordeshis are allergic to O.C.U. Lonely Martin: Gulp, damn this booze is good! Tastes better ‘cause the revolutionary forces are taking down the O.C.U.!! Hey, you drink up too!! Wistful Nick: Anyone thinking of making for the border should just give it up. It doesn’t matter who they are. Anyone would be caught and executed. Good Time Rosanna: Looks like the capital is in dire straits. But. there’s no way the war will come here. One-Track Mind Elena: Revolution’s got nothin’ to do with me. As long as I’ve got a good drink in my hand, I’ve got nothing to complain about. (Move to the Arena) Eager Teddy: Strong fighters are treated like heroes in this town. Maybe I should become one too. Solemn Carl: Sigh...when I fight it’s as though I’m remembering something long lost...sigh... Fangirl Ann: The champion of this arena is a mystery man! He never takes off his helmet during a fight! Hardly anyone knows his true face! Fighting Man Enthusiast Dorothy: Men are only truly alive in battle. I just can’t stand a man who has forgotten how to fight! (Ask for an explanation of the Arena to the Arena Manager) Arena Manager: In the arena, you can pit your wanzers against those of other competitors. There are two kinds of battles held: 1v1 “Solo Fights” and up to 5v5 “Team Fights.” If you win battles, you will receive cash rewards and prizes. On the other hand, if you lose your fight, we will retain the fight money you paid to enter. (Ask for an explanation of solo fights to the Arena Manager) Arena Manager: Solo fights are 1v1. Before the battle begins, you will have to choose the weapons you want to use in battle five times. These will be used in sequence for five rounds until a winner is determined. Please take note that in the case that a weapon you chose to use becomes unusable (if the arm it is equipped on is destroyed) then you will be unable to act in the round when you chose to fire it. For example, if you chose to use the weapon on your left arm five times in a row, as soon as that arm was destroyed, you would no longer be able to attack. Victory conditions are to either destroy the opponent wanzer's body, or to render its weapons inoperable. (Ask for an explanation of team fights to the Arena Manager) Arena Manager: These fights involve a maximum of 5v5 combatants. The enemy team will always have 5 machines, but you can choose to send from 1 to 5 wanzers against them. The rules of battle are identical to a regular battle. However, you cannot steal parts from the enemy. In addition, there is no option to surrender or give up. The victory conditions are to defeat the enemy leader. (After asking for all three explanations to the Arena Manager) Arena Manager: Oh right, here’s a network password for you. It’ll let you view data about the other arena combatants. Information can make the difference between victory and defeat. (Return to the Reception Room after participating in at least one arena fight) Saribash: Ah, it’s you guys. Sorry for blowing up at you earlier. Ash: Don’t worry about it. We’re more interested in how we’re going to escape the country. Saribash: Ah right, the plans are already made. But, are you fleeing too? You’re an Alordeshi, aren’t you? Ash: ... Saribash: Hey forget it, everyone’s got their own story... Get Thomas over here. Once everyone’s assembled, we’ll discuss the plan. (Return to the Arena) Amia: Thomas! Saribash wants to see you. Let’s get back to Agit. Thomas: Hang on, this is just getting good. Joyce: Jeez, we all want to get out of this country ASAP. Come on. Thomas: ... (Return to the Reception Room) Thomas: You calmed down, Saribash? Saribash: Yeah, sorry about that. The fact that I can’t keep a handle on my emotions is a sign of my age. Thomas: Well, I’m not exactly a spring chicken either. Ash: So, how are we getting out of the country? Saribash: Right, the plan’s ready. I’ve even contacted the O.C.U. Amia: The O.C.U.? Saribash: That’s right. (A map is shown) Saribash: The O.C.U. military recently began hostage rescue missions around the country. Rescued prisoners are being taken from the southern coastline by helicopter to O.C.U. controlled waters. I already contacted the O.C.U. and asked for your rescue. If you can make it to the coastline, they’ll handle things the rest of the way. Amia: Wow. Joyce: When do we leave? Saribash: Right away. You have to get to the coast by the end of the day. Joyce: By the end of the day...huh... Saribash: However... Thomas: What is it, Saribash? Saribash: Thomas, if you’re willing I’d like you and your men to stay in the country. Rocky: Why’s that? Saribash: I’ve decided to face Ven. I cannot stand by and see him wound this country any longer. That’s why I’d like your help. Of course, you’d be compensated... Amia: Are you kidding...our lives aren’t to be bought and sold. There’s no way I’d agree to that!! Thomas: I understand, Saribash. Amia: Thomas!! Thomas: Roswell! Rocky! What are you two going to do? Roswell: Hrm...why not. I’ll stick around, boss man. Rocky: Count me in too. Thomas: Ash? Ash: I...even if I stayed in this country, there’s nothing I could do. Thomas: You feel the same way? Joyce: Yeah... Thomas: So it’s decided then, Saribash. Us army grunts will stick around with you. Saribash: Thanks, Thomas. Thomas: No need to thank me. More importantly, can we get these three safely to the coast? Saribash: Yeah, I’ll leave that to you. Thomas: Well then, let’s get ready to go. (Upon leaving the area) Saribash: Are you ready to go? (Select YES) Saribash: Well then, take care. Ash: We owe you one. Saribash: Forget it, I’m the one who should be thanking you. Amia: Who’s going to show us the way? Saribash: One of my wanzer pilots and Lila will do it. Joyce: Lila!? Saribash: Yeah, she’s ridden wanzers since she was a little girl. She’s no novice. Lila: Well then everyone, let us depart. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 04 - Alordesh Coast ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 04 [IN04] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SPECIAL EVENT 04 - Reconnaissance ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ FOREST NEAR RIMIAN BASE: Lisa: Have you been able to establish contact, Sayuri? Sayuri: Yep. Two MDF wanzers and two GDF choppers are standing by. Which do you want? Lisa: Both. Sayuri: Both!? Lisa: Is that a problem? Sayuri: No...just, the GDF and MDF have their rivalries... Lisa: They’re all professionals. In battle, they’re required to cooperate. Sayuri: Got it. I’ll ask for both. Lisa: Oh, and don’t forget the sling helicopters for us. Sayuri: Right, no worries. (Upon leaving the area) Sayuri: Ready to leave? (Select YES) Sayuri: The sling helis should be here any minute. Let’s head for the meeting point. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 05 - Prisoner Rescue Point ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 05 [IN05] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ O.C.U. PRISONER RESCUE OPERATIONS HQ: Operator Larry: How many prisoners were there? Lisa: 23 in all, including casualties that is. Operator Larry: I see. That’s better than the other units managed to pull in. I’ll update the records. Sayuri: Are we going back to Rimian after this? Lisa: No, first we’ll report to Colonel Hordman, and then question the prisoners. (Move to Operations HQ) Lisa: Ahh! Man: Sorry. Didn’t mean to run into you. Lisa: It’s fine. This tent is really cramped. Man: I’m in a hurry. Goodbye. Sayuri: Who’s that? Lisa: Hm, no one I’ve seen before. Hordman: Good job out there, Captain. This has brought up morale amongst the men. Lisa: What of the other rescue units? Hordman: They’re rescuing prisoners captured from other garrisons. Those rescued are taken to the Monto, an aircraft carrier we have anchored far off the coast. Niceguy Kevin: The coup d’etat forces have manged to bring most of the Alordeshi military under their control already. Cool Hawk: The closest town to here is Daukandei to the West. Clever Sam: It seems the coup forces have Alordesh’s top politicians and military staff confined in the capital. Operator Ran: Please take this, Captain. It’s the main rescue mission data. Enter this password under O.C.U. Alordesh on the network to access it. (Move to the Equipment Booth) Mechanic: Hey there, Captain. Everything work out alright? Lisa: Well enough. I’m here to restock on weapons and parts. Mechanic: Well then, show me your card. You must have been raking in the points. Lisa: Naturally. We’ve just come from a battle. Mechanic: It’s a strange system though, ain’t it? Soldiers’ results in battle being recorded and exchanged for equipment. Lisa: It’s proof that the O.C.U. has gotten soft. Well anyhow, the points can be used as cash, so it’s a living for soldiers like us. Mechanic: I’ve determined your balance. Spend away. (Ask for combat tips from the Mechanic) Mechanic: You can fire at a heli or plane with a machine gun or rifle, but of course weapons that let off a big boom are best for hitting them. (Move to the Tent) Lisa: Who are you!? Griff: W-wait, I’m not up to anything funny! Lisa: You’re one of the soldiers we saved. What do you want? Griff: You said you had some questions for me, so... Lisa: Ah, so you took the initiative. Sorry about that. I’m a captain with the O.C.U. GDF 2nd Intelligence Division. You can call me Lisa. This is my adjutant, Sayuri. Griff: Intelligence? Lisa: I have some questions for you about Rimian. Lisa: Did you see any unfamiliar containers in storage at Rimian? Griff: Containers? Hrmph, beats me. Sayuri: What about in a cargo heli or on a truck? Griff: Nah...first Ven, then you guys...what’s going on here? Lisa: Ven!? The coup leader? Griff: Yeah, he asked me those same questions. Lisa: ...that’s enough Griff. I have no further questions. Griff: Okay got it. Hey... Lisa: Do not mention our conversation to anyone. You’ll be sent to the Monto in a few days, then repatriated. You have no choice in the matter... Griff: Hey, wait a second! Lisa: Any other information is highly classified. Questions will not be permitted. Now, return to your barracks. Griff: ...Alright then. Sayuri: So Ven’s looking for it too...what could that mean? Wasn’t our mission to retrieve the stolen equipment from the coup forces? Lisa: There must have been a SNAFU with the intelligence somewhere. Sayuri: So, where do we go from here? Lisa: We need more info. Let’s separate our operations from the prisoner rescue forces. Sayuri: I have a contact in Daukandei. Let’s head over there. Lisa: Understood. Well then, let’s obtain permission from Colonel Hordman. (Return to Operations HQ) Lisa: Oh? Man: Heh, I see we meet again. Sorry, but I have to be on my way. (Talk to Hordman) Hordman: Separate operations? What exactly do you have in mind? Lisa: Our orders are to prioritize intelligence over rescue operations. Hordman: But... Lisa: Please lodge any protests you might have with General Chang-Jang of the Intelligence Division. Hordman: Hmph...I understand. You have my permission to proceed with your separate operations, Captain. Lisa: Thank you for your cooperation and support, Colonel. Hordman: Between you and that man...just who the hell do you think I am!? Lisa: That man? Hordman: Yeah, the man who just left the tent. It seems he’ll be leaving here soon as well. He came in here and waved some permission papers from the Ministry of Defense in my face. Sayuri: Who is that guy? Hordman: All I know is that the Ministry of Defense sent him over here claiming he was a prisoner rescue specialist. He’s not one of your friends? Lisa: ... (Upon leaving the Operations HQ) Lisa: How long will it take for us to get to Daukandei? Sayuri: It’s not that far, but if we leave now I think it’ll be night by the time we arrive. Lisa: We’ll depart as soon as we’re done preparing our wanzers. (Return to the Equipment Booth) Griff: Captain! Lisa: Oh, Sergeant? What are you doing here? Griff: Three of my squad mates were able to escape Rimian Base during the battle there. Since they don’t seem to have arrived here, they still might be out theresomewhere. I’m begging you, let me come with you and look for them! Sayuri: But, you don’t even know where to start, do you? It’s useless to search like that. Griff: Ash is my best friend, I’m begging you. Lisa: Those three squad mates were assigned to Rimian Base, right? Griff: Yeah. Lisa: ...Alright, come along then. Sayuri: Lisa!! Lisa: However, you will follow our orders and assist in our operations. Is that understood? Griff: Yes, ma’am. Lisa: Go talk to the old mechanic and get him to provide you with a spare wanzer. Sayuri: Seriously, Lisa? Lisa: Seriously. Hop to it. Sayuri: Fine! Fine I got it already! (Talk to the Mechanic) Mechanic: A spare wanzer? I don’t know if I have anything in such a hurry. Sayuri: Anything you’ve got would be fine. Mechanic: Well shucks. If you’re just looking for any old thing, I’ve got you covered. But, it don’t have no weapons. Sayuri: That’s fine, thanks. I owe you one. Mechanic: You’re that Captain’s lackey, eh? My condolences. Lisa: What did you say? Mechanic: Oh, nothing nothing...here ya go, a full Zora set. It ain’t much, but it’ll have to do. (Upon leaving the area) Sayuri: Is it time to leave already? (Select YES) Sayuri: Alright, let’s go. Griff: ...Captain? Lisa: If you’re not one for formalities you can call me Lisa. What is it? Griff: The container you’re searching for... Lisa: I can’t tell you anything about that. Griff: Yeah, top secret right? However, I was assigned to that base. If you give me a detailed description, I might be able to remember something. Lisa: ...Alright, I’ll tell you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DAUKANDEI: Sayuri: Whew, we finally got here and it’s the middle of the night. Just like I expected. Lisa: So, where is this contact of yours, Sayuri? Sayuri: At the arena. Works as a fighter there. Griff: An arena fighter? Pretty conspicuous for an intelligence operator. Sayuri: What can I say? My contact is such a show-off. Lisa: Let’s go. If we don’t hurry, the arena will be closed. (Move to the Bar) Bartender: This is just between you and me, but Mr. Labra is pretty popular with us Alordeshis. The O.C.U. Central Parliament...not so much. Lonely Martin: Hey there ladies, care to come over here and have a drink with me? Sayuri: Get outta here, you creep!! Lonely Martin: What!? Lisa: Calm down Sayuri! I’m sorry, she’s still a child. Please forgive her impertinence. By the way, could you tell me if there are any wanzer parts stores in this town? Lonely Martin: What are you talking about? It’s not like you can just walk into a store and ask the clerk for wanzer parts. Lisa: But since there’s an arena here, there must be a place where the fighters get their parts. Lonely Martin: ...I’ve heard the mafia have their Agit in this town. The fighters from the arena get their parts there. But, I don’t know where the Agit is, honestly. Lisa: I see. Thanks. Lonely Martin: You two aren’t having anything to drink? Lisa: As a rule, I don’t drink with strangers. Wistful Nick: It’s best not to think about crossing the border and escaping this country. No matter who you are, you’ll be found and killed. Good Time Rosanna: Those three over there might be wearing O.C.U. fatigues, but they’re actually mercenaries on the mafia payroll. One-Track Mind Elena: I don’t have nothing to do with the revolution. As long as I’m drinking good booze, you won’t hear no complaints from me. (Talk to Thomas) Lisa: You have a minute? Thomas: What do you want? I’m busy, just hang on a minute... Alright! I’ve got it! A straight flush! Roswell: B-boss, I don’t have that. Man, I had a full house too... Thomas: Well, you gotta consider my skills at this game. Roswell: Well, that decides it anyhow... Thomas: Come on, let’s have another go! Lisa: ...Hopeless. Let’s go. Thomas: You won’t beat me, not in a hundred years! Roswell: Shit, o-one more time! (Attempt to leave the Bar) Man: W-wait up! Lisa: ? Man: Y-you're Lisa, right? With the O.C.U. Military Intelligence? Lisa: !! Man: I-it's alright. I'm not your enemy. I've got something to tell you though. Lisa: Something to tell me? Man: I don't have time to tell you now. I've got to run...input HUFFMAN into the O.C.U. Alordesh database. Lisa: H-hey you! Wait!! Man: HUFFMAN, got it? I-I'll contact you again later. (after the man leaves) Sayuri: He ran off. Should we chase him? Lisa: ...let's forget it. The fact he knows my identity is concerning, but he didn't seem dangerous. (Access the network and input HUFFMAN into the O.C.U. In the same year, the PMO begins search-and-destroy operations against the active terrorist group, "The Spirit of Huffman." Sayuri: This is the first time I’ve seen this forum. Lisa: This forum was shut down in 2095. Sayuri: Why is that? There’s nothing out of the ordinary here. Lisa: This information is the true history of the Huffman Conflict, which was not acknowledged by the O.C.U. Central Parliament, and was ordered destroyed. (Access the network and input SAKATA into the O.C.U. Alordesh database) Forum regarding the Sakata Industries Incident: 2092: Article taken from Freedom City’s (Huffman Island) "Daily Freedom" front page. "The shocking hidden truth about the recently ended 2nd Huffman Conflict has been revealed. According to reporter Frederick Lancaster, who has been on assignment for the entire half year duration of the conflict, the 2nd Huffman Conflict was not a border dispute between the O.C.U. and U.S.N., but rather was engineered by both countries, along with the Peace Mediation Organization’s sponsoring country – The Republic of Zaftra, and O.C.U. Japan’s Sakata Industries. Including Zaftra, the three countries were developing computer technology based on the use of the human brain in cooperation with Sakata Industries, and incited the 2nd Huffman Conflict for the purposes of field testing this new technology. Mr. Lancaster has a wealth of evidence to support his claims, and it is expected that further accusations against the guilty parties in this affair will soon come to light. (Article continued on page 2)" Sayuri: Lisa! This... Lisa: ... 2092: Following that, the article was published by news outlets across the globe, and after the publication of Lancaster’s book "Sovereign Islands" calls for an investigation into the truth became widespread. 2094: The O.C.U. and U.S.N. admitted their involvement in the Sakata Industries Incident. Sakata Industries itself became insolvent and was acquired by Iguchi. Zaftra refused to admit involvement, but its President at the time resigned. Since then the memory of the neural weapons used during this war have become etched in the global public’s memory. Sayuri: The Sakata Industries Incident... Lisa: What did he want to tell me? (Check code requested. If OCILIPY is entered.) Sakata Industries wanzer – Raven Model name unknown. Height: 7.7 m Width: 3.2 m Weight: 9.8 t Heavyweight wanzer developed in association with the Zaftran Republic’s Demitri Inc. Although the Raven complies with the international MULS-P standard, its parts are approximately 1.4 times the size of that of an average wanzer, and it is clear that the designers did not intend for its parts to be interchangeable with those of other wanzers. The Raven’s standout characteristic is that it is typically equipped with a Sakata Industries BD Series computer which is based on technology that utilizes the human brain as its processor. Four Raven models were produced, including the initial prototype model, and all of them were field tested during the 2nd Huffman Conflict. It is believed that the wanzer’s test pilots were Zaftran, but there is no proof to confirm this speculation. It was stated that all produced Raven models were destroyed either in battle or in testing accidents. However in 2099, the O.C.U. Military ascertained that the U.S.N. is in possession of the final Raven model. It does not appear that this Raven is equipped either with its standard weapons loadout or BD computer, but it is thought that this secret model has played a significant role in the advancement of U.S.N. wanzer technology. Lisa: An existing Raven...? Sayuri: Even having read this, I still don't have a clue what that man wanted with us. Computer: You've got mail. To: Lisa. From: Unknown. Opening file. Sayuri: An e-mail? From that man? Lisa: Probably... Computer: "I want you to come to the bar in Dhaka on June 24th. I'm waiting." Sayuri: Still keeping his cards close to his chest, huh? (Move to the Arena) Eager Teddy: Strong fighters are treated like heroes in this town. Maybe I should become one too. Solemn Carl: Sigh...when I fight, it’s as though I’m remembering something long lost...sigh... Tired Out Harry: Man, you just can’t figure things out from the data alone. Here you, have this, it’s the password to see the data on pilots entered in the Arena. Me? I’m going home, so I don’t need it no more. (Move to the Arena Management Room) Sayuri: Erm, I want to meet the champ... Arena Manager: The champ!? No way, no how! No fans allowed. Sayuri: I’m no fan! I’m a friend! Arena Manager: That’s just BS. Now, get goin’! Sayuri: H-heyy! Lisa: Looks like we won’t be getting in...what should we do? Wait until the matches are over? Sayuri: No way! Once the matches are over my contact will head home. It’ll be too hard to catch the champ after that. Lisa: Well then, what should we do... Sayuri: Simple. I’ll challenge the champ. Lisa: W-wait a minute, Sayuri! Griff: She’s already gone... Lisa: Christ... (Participate in the Arena) Sayuri: We need at least five victories to fight the champ. Lisa: What!? Why!? Sayuri: It’s the rules. Lisa: Give me a break!! Sayuri: It’s not going to help getting angry at me... (Once Sayuri has won four matches in the arena) Sayuri: If we win this next match, we get to fight the champ. Let’s give it our best! (Once Sayuri has won five matches in the arena) Sayuri: Whew, we can finally fight the champ. (If Sayuri loses) Sayuri: Owowowow...just as strong as ever... (If Sayuri wins) Champ: Sayuri!? So, it’s been you all this time!? Sayuri: Cordy! Cordy: Hey, it’s been a while! Since Belgrade, right? Sayuri: Yeah, that’s about right. Cordy: Anyhow, you’ve sure gotten strong since then! A year ago, you could barely pilot a wanzer. Griff: So, Cordy’s a woman...? Lisa: I didn’t know up until now either. Cordy: Who the hell are you guys? Sayuri: I’ll introduce you. This woman is my superior – Lisa, then we have a wanzer pilot from the Marines – Griff. Cordy: So, I take it you’re not here as a tourist. Lisa: That’s right, Cordy. Cordy: I see. Let’s get outta here and head for the bar. (Move to the Bar) Cordy: Today’s on me. Sayuri: Sorry to jump to the point, but can we talk business? Cordy: Heh, I thought someone would come talk to me with the coup on. But, I never thought it’d be you. Lisa: We’re looking for a container that disappeared from Rimian Base. Cordy: What’s in it? Lisa: I can’t tell you. Cordy: You’re saying you don’t trust me? Lisa: If you knew what was in it, you’d be put in danger. Cordy: Ha! Is there anyone in my line of work who isn’t in danger? If you’re not gonna let me in on this info, I won’t be helping you. Sayuri: Come on Lisa, let’s tell her. She’s reliable. Lisa: ...Alright...there’s some electronic equipment in the container. It’s called "Ring Invasion Control Device." Griff: What the hell is that? Cordy: A control device for unmanned recon...vehicles? Sayuri: Well, more or less. Right, Lisa? Lisa: Er, yeah... Cordy: I see...well Lisa, I’m sorry but I don’t know anything about that device. I’ll help you out until you find it though. Lisa: Thanks, Cordy. Cordy: In which case, we should get going. Sayuri: Where to? Cordy: To the south west part of town, where the prisoner detainment facility and coup army HQ is. We ought to be able to find some info about this device there. Lisa: Alright, let’s head out then. And... Cordy: I know, you need parts right? I’ll let you know where the mafia’s Agit is. Lisa: Hm, you really are reliable. (Move to the Agit) Guard: Who’s there!? Cordy: It’s me. Guard: Ah, Cordy...you make a killing today? Cordy: Ah, you know how it is. Anyhow, I’m here about my friends and their wanzers. Could you help them out with getting some parts? Guard: If they’re your friends it’s fine, but it ain’t free. Lisa: How about this? Guard: Isn’t that an O.C.U. clip card!? Are you with the O.C.U. military!? Lisa: Don’t get me wrong, this is a forgery. It’ll still get me O.C.U. cash though. Guard: You don’t say... Lisa: How about it? Your boss hates the O.C.U., so I figure he wouldn’t mind taking a bit of their cash under the counter... Guard: ...Yeah hell, why not? The weapons are downstairs. (Move to the Reception Room) Guard: The business is downstairs, not in here! (Move to the Underground Warehouse) Cordy: That was quite the bluff back there, Lisa. Lisa: Well, it was half true. But, I was bit frightened too. Cordy: Haha, I like you. (Ask for combat tips from the Shop Hand) Shop Hand: You can load down your wanzer with weapons and items to turn it into a powerhouse, but you’ll get more speed the lighter it is. Development Head Lupo: Hey, you’re the guys who took down the champ back at the arena right? Lisa: Who are you? Development Head Lupo: My apologies, here’s my card. Lisa: XX Weapons Manufacturing...Weapons Development Division 1 Head Lupo... What do you want with us? Development Head Lupo: My company has just developed a new set of wanzer parts, and I’d like to field test the prototype. Lisa: Well...? Development Head Lupo: Well yes, I was thinking that since you defeated the champion, pilots of your skill level would be able to bring out the maximum potential of this prototype. Sayuri: Hmm. Development Head Lupo: ...Hrm? Now that I look at you, you’re all women aren’t you? Sayuri: What was that!? Are you going to discriminate against us just because we’re women? Development Head Lupo: Oh my, a team with a young girl like this took down the champion? Cordy: Yeah, that’s right. Too bad, huh? Development Head Lupo: H-huh? C-could you be, Cordy? My apologies! Cordy: Tell me more about this set. Development Head Lupo: Y-yes, if you use this set in battle and win, it’ll be proof of its quality, and good advertising for us, yes? Cordy: We’ll be getting compensated for this, right? Development Head Lupo: Y-yes, of course. You will. If you manage to get through a battle without having any parts destroyed, I will compensate you to the tune of 1000. Cordy: What? One thousand!? Development Head Lupo: Yes, however for each part destroyed we will subtract 250 from that total... Cordy: Alright, will you leave it to me then? Development Head Lupo: Yes, yes, exactly as I wanted... Cordy: Alright, let’s head to the arena and get to fighting! Development Head Lupo: W-wait! Cordy: What? Development Head Lupo: The arena is no good. It won’t make for good enough data. We need a fight that will bring out the wanzer’s maximum capacity. That’ll be what I need for development purposes after all. So, the arena is out. Cordy: So? Development Head Lupo: It has to be a real battle. Cordy: A real battle? Development Head Lupo: Yes, a real battle. However, although the wanzer was able to stand up to our testing, there is some concern about how it will handle the extremes of real combat... Cordy: I’m out! I’m not gonna throw away my life for some cheap experiment. Development Head Lupo: Sigh, I see...a woman couldn’t be trusted to do this after all...maybe I’ll look for a tougher man at the arena... Lisa: What’s wrong, Sayuri? Let’s go. Sayuri: ...I’ll do it, I’ll take up your offer! Cordy: What, why? Sayuri: I won’t take this! Hey, you chauvinist bastard! Get back here you!! Development Head Lupo: Y-yes? You are referring to me? Sayuri: I’ll take up your offer! Lisa: Oh, Sayuri...that girl is so stubborn... Cordy: Hey now, Sayuri. Calm down and think this through. Sayuri: Shut up! Lisa: Once she’s set her mind on to something, there’s no turning back. Cordy: Same as always I see... Sayuri: I’ll use that set in battle for you! Lisa: Come on, Sayuri, think about this. Do you really want to take up his request? (Select YES) Sayuri: Of course! Hey you! Give me the set! Development Head Lupo: Y-yes. Sayuri: Alright, after I’m done with this on the battlefield I should come back to see you right!? Development Head Lupo: Y-yes, that’s right. If you agree to my request, I’ll have you sign these papers... Sayuri: ...Alright! It’s all okay then, right!? Development Head Lupo: Y-yes, it’s okay. I have one demand for you, be sure to equip this. After you have completed one battle, return here with the data. I will be waiting here. Sayuri: Alright everyone, let’s move out!! Hrm? What’s the matter? Lisa: Sigh...still a child I see... Cordy: Same as always... Development Head Lupo: I’m sorry to remind you, but please ensure to equip all the parts: body, right arm, left arm, and legs. They’re labelled “prototype.” (Upon leaving the area) Sayuri: Well, should we get going? (Select YES) Lisa: Yes, we’ll leave now. How long do you think it’ll take to get to the detainment facility? Cordy: Hrm...it’s quite a ways. If we leave now, we’ll probably arrive tomorrow morning... Lisa: Daylight reconnaissance...well, I guess it can’t be helped. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 06 - Prisoner Detainment Facility ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 06 [IN06] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DAUKANDEI: Lisa: It seems no one is seriously injured. Griff: Yeah, but we can’t just have them tag along with us wherever we go. Lisa: We’ll take them to the Prisoner Rescue Operations HQ. But first, interrogation. Cordy: Let’s go to the arena. No one will bother us there. (Move to the Arena) Cordy: Stay out of the spare room. Arena Manager: Cordy! What have you been up to? Everyone was in an uproar when the champ disappeared. Cordy: Sorry, manager. I’ll be out of here soon on other business. Arena Manager: What other business!? Cordy: The business I’ll be borrowing the spare room for. Arena Manager: Cordy! (Move to the Spare Room) Lisa: I will be questioning you now as a commissioned officer of Military Intelligence. Is that alright? O.C.U. Soldier: I’ll tell you whatever I can. Lisa: What base were you four assigned to? O.C.U. Soldier: Deean A.F.B. Lisa: Really? O.C.U. Soldier: What if I’m lying? Griff: He’s not lying, he wasn’t at Rimian. Lisa: There weren’t any prisoners from Rimian at the detainment facility? O.C.U. Soldier: I don’t know. I had no way of contacting anyone in other rooms. Lisa: Were you interrogated there? O.C.U. Soldier: Yeah, the boss of the coup d’etat forces...I forget his name. That guy, I don’t know why but he asked me about Rimian Base. "Did you have any friends at Rimian?" "Had you heard any rumors about Rimian?" He asked me those kinds of questions. Lisa: What did you tell him? O.C.U. Soldier: I didn’t know anyone at Rimian, so I didn’t have anything to tell him. Lisa: I see. Wait here until we’re ready to take you to HQ. Sayuri: Are you done, Lisa? Lisa: Yes, he wasn’t at Rimian. He has nothing to tell us. Griff: Hey, is this device you’re looking for really that important? It’s just a machine for controlling unmanned recon, right? Lisa: A man like you could never understand it... Griff: ... Lisa: What? Griff: You sure get cold whenever the topic of this device comes up. Lisa: ... (Move to the Underground Warehouse) Development Head Lupo: So, it seems you’ve just come back from battle...how did my company’s prototype perform in a real battle? Well then, what about damage to the parts...? Ho ho... no parts destroyed. Not bad at all. So, your compensation for the parts durability test is 250x4=1000. Well, that’s quite something. How many enemies were you able to destroy? According to this record...Ho, quite a few I see. You get 800 for the offensive power test. If anything else comes up I’ll let you know. (Upon leaving the area) Sayuri: Should we head back to Operations HQ? (Select YES) Lisa: Yes, let’s take those we rescued back to HQ. There might be some new info for us back at HQ as well. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ O.C.U. PRISONER RESCUE OPERATIONS HQ Lisa: We’ve got a new group of rescued personnel. How long until the next transport out? Operator Larry: The next one is going out tomorrow. I hear there’s going to be a large scale rescue operation tomorrow too. We’ll be rescuing Alordeshi politicians held in the capital, along with the O.C.U. ambassador... Lisa: Attacking the capital!? Sayuri! Let’s go!! Sayuri: Go? Go where? Lisa: To the command office. We have to stop Colonel Hordman’s operation. Sayuri: What should we do with the people we rescued? Griff: Leave them to me. I’ll take them to their rooms. (Go to the Command Room) Lisa: Colonel Hordman! Hordman: Oh, Captain. I see you’re back. Lisa: I heard you’re going to attack the capital. Hordman: I organized the operation. We’ll be rescuing the politicians and the O.C.U. ambassador held in Dhaka. We’ll be rescuing General Gwianda as well. Lisa: I cannot agree with that. Hordman: Don’t worry. Reinforcements from the O.C.U. have already arrived. Lisa: There’s a high chance of failure for this operation... Hordman: I am the commander of this operation. I will be making the decisions about rescue operations. Lisa: ... Hordman: I’ll have you join the operation as well. I’ve already received permission from General Chang-Jang, Captain. Lisa: ...Understood. Nice Guy Kevin: The VIPs are being held in the O.C.U. Central Embassy in the capital. Cool Hawk: It seems the mafia launched an attack against the capital. We don’t know what the objective was though... Clever Sam: Our aircraft carrier is still anchored off the coast. It’ll leave as soon as the next batch of rescued prisoners is on board. (Talk to the Man) Lisa: You! Why didn’t you stop the Colonel? Man: I’m not sure what you’re saying. Lisa: You’re a rescue operations expert, right? If that’s true, you ought to be able to see how unlikely this operation is to succeed. Man: I’ve succeeded in tougher operations than this. I don’t know who you are, but I’m not about to take instructions from someone who’s never been through a real war. Lisa: ... Man: Well then, Captain, see you in the capital. (Talk to Operator Ran) Lisa: Has any new information come in? Operator Ran: Let’s see, there has been some data about the coup forces in Dhaka that has come in from our surveillance satellite. Shall I give you the password? Lisa: Yes, please. (Upon leaving the Command Room) Griff: I managed to get the rescued prisoners set up...what’s going on? Sayuri: We couldn’t stop that stupid Colonel from attacking the capital. On top of that, we have to participate in the operation... Griff: Huh... Cordy: So, should we skip town? Lisa: No, an order is an order...we’ll participate in the operation. Sayuri: Lisa... Lisa: There’s still time until daybreak. Let’s rest until then. (Move to the Tent) Sayuri: Lisa? Are you ready to sleep? (Select YES) Lisa: Yeah, let’s get some rest. June 16, 2102 - 4:00 AM Hordman: Our main force will now begin moving out towards the capital. We will most likely arrive around noon, and subsequently rendezvous with the already departed recon units, after which we will begin combat operations. Godspeed. The item you got in battle back there arrived. It’s this Goldias Missile Launcher. Mechanic: It seems Hordman’s unit’s wanzers were surrounded and destroyed in the urban battle just now. If you’re serious about fighting, you’d better have the latest equipment. (Talk to Seals) Lisa: Would it be alright for me to talk to the rescued prisoners? Seals: Yeah, but use discretion. They seem mostly to be Alordeshi VIPs. (Talk to Alordeshi Prime Minister) Alordeshi Prime Minister: Thanks so much for saving me. Lisa: Mr. Prime Minister, I don’t see General Gwianda... Alordeshi Prime Minister: I was imprisoned together with him for a while, but he was taken off by Lieutenant Colonel Mackarge. I haven’t see General Gwianda since then. Lisa: I see... (Talk to O.C.U. Ambassador) O.C.U. Ambassador: I never! What the hell is going on!? Why was it necessary to take ME hostage! And I never expected to be hauled off by a rescue operation like THIS! Call the operation’s commander! I wish to lodge a formal complaint! Lisa: The commander is not here, Mr. Ambassador. Furthermore, you should remember that we are not out of Alordesh yet. O.C.U. Your slang, the way you fight...it’s a bit strange, but you’re O.C.U. GDF, if I’m not mistaken. Thomas: Wow, you’re a sharp one missy. Us three were O.C.U. up until yesterday. But now, we’re living on the Mafia’s coin. In order to survive, you see. Sayuri: It seems there are no patriots among you! Thomas: Listen girly, the O.C.U. is made up of ten-odd countries. Just which one are we supposed to be patriotic towards? Sayuri: Er, that’s... Lisa: That’s enough Sayuri. We’re not here to discuss the existential character of the O.C.U. Tell me, where do you plan on taking us? Thomas: To the mafia’s office. Cordy: The Agit, huh? Thomas: Gwahaha. Well, whatever you wanna call it. Well then, can we get a move on? (Upon leaving the area) Thomas: You ready there, girlies? (Select YES) Lisa: Are you going to give us our wanzers back? Thomas: Yeah, but we’ll be holding your weapons for safekeeping. Wonder who the next champ’ll be. (Move to the Arena) Penniless Butch: Yo, I’ve got the password to the Diable Avionics forum. It’s yours for 2000. How about it? I’m flat broke, so help a guy out and buy it will ya!? Fangirl Ann: The arena without Cordy is like a milk tea without the milk... Sigh... (Move to the Agit) Guard: Thomas! Where have you been!? Thomas: Revolutionary hunting. I bagged some prisoners, too. Guard: They with the Revolutionary Army? Cordy: Nah. Guard: Cordy!! And you guys...!! Lisa: Sorry to have mislead you. But you’ll find the card clears, so don’t worry. Thomas: I don’t know what that’s about...but whatever. Anyhow, where’s Saribash? Guard: The boss went to Diaraba yesterday. Thomas: What!? Without contacting us? Guard: Aren’t you the ones who cut radio contact!? The boss went to collect the weapons he’s got stored in Diaraba. Thomas: What sort of weapons? Guard: The boss left a message for you saying to follow him to Diaraba. Guard: The boss is waiting in Diaraba. Get over there. (Move to the Reception Room) Thomas: Yep. No one here... (Move to the Underground Warehouse) Warehouse Worker: Hey there, here’s the password for Diable Avionics. Hope you find it useful. (Upon leaving the Agit) Thomas: Later, we’re off to Diaraba. Sayuri: What about us!? Thomas: Prisoners are a real burden. You can do whatever you like. Griff: We can...do whatever we like...huh. Thomas: I said you can go. Now get out of here before I change my mind. Lisa: Actually, would you mind if we tag along? Thomas: Whaat? Why would you do that? Lisa: I want info that your boss has. We’ll trade you whatever information we have about the Revolutionary Army. If you give us our weapons back we could be your guards instead of your prisoners too. Thomas: You’re asking me to trust you guys? Lisa: It’s a long way to Diaraba. If you ran into the Revolutionary Army along the way, you’d have a hard time handling them. Thomas: ...interesting. I like it! What the hell, I’ll trust you. But if you think you can take us down, even with your weapons back, you’ve got another thing coming. (Upon leaving the area) Thomas: Well, shall we get going? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 09 - The Road to Diaraba ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 09 [IN09] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ O.C.U. AIRCRAFT CARRIER "MONTO": Amia: Argh, why all this waiting? Just when are we going to be departing for home? It’s already been three days... Joyce: ... Amia: You must think so too, right, Ash? Ash: ... Amia: Man, you guys are downers! We’ve been saved. Shouldn’t you be a bit happier? Ash: Yeah... (Leave the Cabin) Amia: Ash, where you going? Ash: We’ve got nothing to do here, so I thought I’d go for a walk around the ship. You want to come too Amia? Amia: I’m alright, I’ve had my fill of walking. Ash: Right. (Move to the Hallway) Marine Marco: Got something on your mind? Ash: Nah, just out of a walk. Marine Marco: Ah. That’s right, you were from Rimian Base right? Ash: What’s it to you? Marine Marco: Another transport just got in. I heard it was carrying some guys from Rimian. Ash: Where are they now!? Marine Marco: They’re in the hangar. That’s the only place that had enough room for all of ‘em. (Move to the Hangar) Rescued Soldier Middle: Man, this is bullshit...just when we’ve been rescued, we get shoved in this cramped little space. Soldier Gallucci: I hear it’s because the Alordeshi PM is on board. Looks like he’s going into exile, huh? Soldier Hart: The guys from Rimian? They’re the ones sitting over there. Sitting Soldier (MP): Ash? Holy shit it’s Ash! How’s it going? Are you alright? Ash: I should be asking you the same thing! MP: Yeah, I was able to get out of the checkpoint just before it got blown to hell. But after that, I got taken prisoner along with Griff... Ash: Griff’s alive!? MP: Yeah, after that me and Griff were saved by the O.C.U. but... Ash: What? MP: Griff, well he heard you were MIA and he...went back in to find you. Ash: What the hell... MP: H-hey, I tried to stop him! I swear! Ash: Griff......he went back in...for me... Man: Hey, mind if I butt in? MP: Who the hell are you? Man: You guys were stationed at Rimian, right? MP: Yeah, what about it... Man: You wouldn’t happen to know anything about an unidentified cargo container being brought into there, would you? MP: A container? Beats me. Ash: Yeah...I don’t remember anything in particular either. Man: Really...sorry for butting in to your conversation. I’m off. See you around. MP: Strange, that one. Wearing a suit and fedora on a military ship...he can’t be a soldier. Ash: Yeah... (Return to the Hallway) Marine Marco: Man, even on duty this place is slack. (Return to the Cabin) Ash: Listen up you two, Griff is still alive out there. Joyce: So that’s what’s been bothering you, Ash? Ash: Griff was rescued by the O.C.U. Military but...he heard that I was still MIA...and... Amia: What!? Joyce: ...should we get going then, Ash? Ash: Huh!? Joyce: You came to ask us if we were up to going back in. If that’s how you feel, I’m in too. Amia: Have you lost it, Joyce!? We’re at sea! It’s not like you can just walk over to Alordesh! Joyce: There’s a way. There’s a VTOL float plane on deck. And Amia, I know you learned how to handle a transport’s stick back in the Air Force. Amia: Huh, why me!? No way I’m going! You guys go alone! Plus, there’s no way you could go without flight clearance. Joyce: That’s true, so... Amia: Stop right there! You’re driving me nuts. Ash: ...Amia, I’m begging you. Amia: Not you too, Ash...grrr, fine...FINE! I’ll drop you guys off where ever you like, and then I’m coming right back here! Joyce: Yeah, you can tell the military we forced you into it. Amia: Right, RIGHT! I’ll make sure you guys go along with that story! Joyce: Well then, it’s settled! Let’s go, Ash! Let’s go load up our wanzers into the transport in the hangar! Amia, you take care of the transport. Amia: Well you’re certainly cheery all of a sudden, Joyce. Joyce: Really? I’d say I’m always handsome and charming. (Return to the Hallway) Marine Marco: Hey now, where are you bunch headed? Joyce: We’re out for a bit of a long walk. Marine Marco: A long walk? What do ya mean by that? Joyce: I’ll let you think on that one. (Upon leaving for the deck) Joyce: You ready, Ash? (Select YES) Joyce: Alright, let’s just make sure. We might not be coming back here after all. Ash: Yeah. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SPECIAL EVENT 06 - Pike A. Reischauer SPECIAL EVENT 07 - Hard Landing SPECIAL EVENT 08 - Looking for Saribash ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DAUKANDEI: (Move to the Agit) Guard: Hey! You guys! Why the hell are you here!? Didn’t you get out of the country? Joyce: We found a bit of a reason to come back here. Ash: We’d like to see Saribash. Guard: The boss is in Diaraba, not here. Joyce: You must be able to get some kind of message through to him. Guard: No can do. I’m being watched by the Revolutionary Army. Can’t risk revealing the boss’ location. Sorry, but if you want to see the boss go talk to him in person in Diaraba. Ash: What about Thomas and the others? Guard: They came by a while ago with some O.C.U. prisoners. Should be arriving in Diaraba right about now. (Talk with the Shop Manager in the Underground Warehouse) Shop Manager: Here’s the password to Vynce’s website. I got it from a smuggler. All you need is that address to get in. (Upon leaving the Agit) Joyce: What should we do, Ash? Ash: We need Saribash’s help, so let’s head for Diaraba. Pike: That’d be dangerous. Amia: What do you mean? Pike: Diaraba is pretty far away. With just 4 of us, there’s a good chance we wouldn’t make it. Ash: If Diaraba is no good, we’ll look for Griff on our own. Pike: Well then, I guess I’ll tag along. Joyce: Just why the hell are you following us anyhow? You’re not here to save anyone, right? Pike: Hey, don’t worry about it. I’ll fill you in eventually. (Upon leaving the area) Joyce: Well, should we get going? (Select YES) Pike: Yeah, there’s a O.C.U. prisoner rescue operations HQ across the border to the East. Why don’t we try to gather some information there? Ash: But, the Revolutionary Army is watching the border. Pike: The O.C.U. has taken care of most of them in that area. No worries. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ O.C.U. PRISONER RESCUE OPERATIONS HQ: Ash: So this is where Griff was supposed to have been... Joyce: Let’s get to gathering that intelligence. (Move to the Operations HQ) Hordman: What is it? Are you a bunch of rescued prisoners? Ash: No, we’re looking for one of the rescued prisoners. A corporal named Griff. Have you heard of him? Hordman: Can’t say I remember the name of each and every one of the prisoners we’ve rescued. Pike: Is there anyone from Intelligence here, Colonel? Hordman: Who the hell are you? Pike: I’m with the CIU. Hordman: The CIU!? I don’t remember calling you guys in... Pike: No, you wouldn’t, since it didn’t happen. But about those officers from Intelligence... Hordman: I’ve got nothing to say to the goddamn CIU. Get out! Pike: Well then, excuse me. Nice Guy Kevin: Griff? ...Sorry, haven’t heard of him. Cool Hawk: It’d be impossible to rescue all the captured O.C.U. soldiers from the Revolutionary Army. That is, without blowing the Revolutionary Army itself to hell. Clever Sam: We’re just about to launch a counter-offensive. Then we’ll put an end to all this coup nonsense. (Move to the Equipment Booth) Mechanic: What do you guys want? I haven’t seen ya around here before. Pike: We’d like some wanzer parts. Mechanic: This ain’t no store. I can’t go giving parts to no one without a clip card... Pike: I’ve got one, see? Mechanic: Whoa, you shocked me there. Just who the hell are you? Pike: Does it really matter? Mechanic: Heh, I guess not... (Talk to the Mechanic) Mechanic: Griff...? Ah! Yeah that guy was with Lisa! Ash: You know him? Mechanic: Yeah, I got him a wanzer ‘cause Sayuri asked me to. Ash: Where is he now? Mechanic: Sorry man, I haven’t heard. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 10 - The Road to Diaraba ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 10 [IN10] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DIARABA: June 17, 2012 - 0:00 AM Ash: Where’s Saribash? Joyce: This town is pretty big. I asked around about the agit...but I don’t think we’ll find it right away. Amia: Sheesh, let’s get with it. Pike: Well anyhow, it looks like we’ll have do to some searching. (Move to the Triangle Bar) Bartender: The mafia’s agit? Sorry, my friend, I can’t tell you about that. Drunkard Snorken: Diaraba’s aaa, p-portt y’see... Talkative Stalt: Even if the revolutionaries succeed and the country becomes independent, if the people aren’t fundamentally changed we won’t have achieved real independence. DNC Editor: Hey there fellows!! You aren’t interested in this country, right? Well that’s bull! It’s seriously bullshit! To not even be interested in the country you’re living in! Here’s a present for ya, the password to the DNC Editorial Database. If you enter this password on the DNC forum you’ll be able to learn all there is to know about this country!! Friendly-looking Lala: Why not try checking out the Arena? Since you can’t even have a place like that without a mafia, you might learn something there. Drinking Jennifer: Why not have someone else give us independence? Doing that kinda bothersome stuff yourself is a real pain in the neck. (Move to the Arena) Rowdy Jack: Huh? Saribash’s agit? Listen bub, don’t go talking about that kinda thing unless you want to get your face bashed in! Nervous Grace: I don’t know nothing about this agit thing. Ah, but yeah, there’s this arena fighter around here named Royd – he might know something. There’s a rumour he always buys Saribash’s top grade stuff for his wanzer. Battle-Hardened Milene: Pilots with real war experience are the strongest, you know. (Participate in the Arena with Amia and defeat Royd) Royd: Fuck! You messed up my wanzer! Get out of there and fight me with your bare hands! Amia: Are you really THE Royd Clive? Royd: Whoo! So you like me eh? Well how about this girly, go on a date with me and I’ll forget all about the wanzer! Amia: Tell me where the mafia’s agit is and we’ll have a deal. Royd: What, that’s all you want? Here, I’ll show ya right away. Joyce: Alright, looks like this guy is gonna help us out. Royd: Huh!? Pike: Well then, why don’t you hurry up and show us the way? Royd: A trick!? Shit!! Like hell I’m gonna tell you now! Amia: Hey now, would the great hero of Huffman Island - Royd Clive - break a promise made to a lady? Royd: Ngh! Joyce: Come on Royd, you don’t want us telling everyone about this do ya? Royd: A-alright, I got it already. Follow me. (Move to the Port) Royd: Well, this is it...what do you want to do here anyhow? Amia: This is really where we’re supposed to have our date? Joyce: If you’re lying to us, we’re out of here. Royd: What!? Just trust me for a second!! This is really it...sheesh. (Move to the Agit from the Port) Royd: Alright, this is it. Ash: You’re sure? Royd: Yeah. Amia: Thanks, Royd. Now, I’ll hold up my end of the bargain and we can sit down for at least a drink. Joyce: But, it’s your treat...and you’ve gotta pay for us boys, as well. Royd: C’mon, now! Give me a break! Christ! Royd: Am I really that hard on the eyes? Amia: You should learn not to come on so strong. And besides, I’m just not that kind of girl. (Move to Saribash's Office) Lila: Joyce! Joyce: Well Lila, I see you’re as beautiful as always. Lila: But why...you were supposed to have left the country. Ash: Things change. Lila, where’s Saribash? Lila: My father is working in the warehouse. He’s getting ready to fight the Revolutionary Army... Amia: Can you show us to him, Lila? Lila: Over here. (Go to the Warehouse) Saribash: Ash? Is that really you Ash? Ash: That’s right, Saribash. Saribash: What the hell are you doing here!? After I went through all that trouble to get you out! Ash: Sorry, Saribash. Things change. Saribash: Alright, I got it. Let’s get out of here and head back to my office. (Talk to the Warehouse Manager in the Warehouse) Warehouse Manager: Here, I’ll give you Iguchi’s address. (Ask for combat tips from the Warehouse Manager) Warehouse Manager: When buying parts, watch out for the light ones. That kind of armor might look the same as any other, but it’s vulnerable to piercing weapons like machine guns and rifles. Anyhow, that’s why they’re light, so pay attention out there. (Return to Saribash’s Office) Saribash: So, that’s it? You guys...you came back here to look for this Griff guy? Pike: It’s quite the tale of woe, isn’t it? Saribash: Who’s this guy? Pike: You might say I’m their patron. Saribash: ... Ash: I’m begging you, help us out. You’re the only one in Alordesh we can rely on. Saribash: Alright, I’ll get some lodgings set up for you. But, we’re busy with preparing to take on the Revolutionary Army right now. I don’t know if I can do much more for you... Amia: The Revolutionary Army! Now that you mention, it we had a run in with them! They’re headed for Diaraba. Saribash: WHAT!? Why the hell didn’t you tell me that earlier!? We’ve gotta scramble!! Pike: What about us? Saribash: If you’re on our side, I promise I won’t do you wrong. Ash: Understood. Saribash: Well then, I’ll put you straight to work. I just got a message from Thomas and his boys that they’ve arrived in town. They don’t know about this place, so I’ll get you to go bring them back here. Joyce: Where are they? Saribash: They said they’d be waiting at the bar. Well, then I’m headed back to work. (Talk to Lila) Lila: Father has gone back to work in the warehouse. (Return to the Bar and talk to Thomas) Joyce: There’s Thomas and his guys. Thomas: Oi! Ash!? What in the hell are you... Ash: I’ll explain, so let’s sit down. Thomas: ... Roswell: Thomas, this Griff that Ash is talking about... Joyce: You know him? Thomas: ...yeah. Ash: Where!? Where is he!? Thomas: Well you see, we took Griff and 3 other O.C.U. soldiers captive... Rocky: Along the way we got into a fight with the Revolutionary Army, and those four got caught up in it too... Ash: What!? Thomas: Sorry...they didn’t make it here with us... Joyce: Shit! So you just ditched Griff and came here!? Roswell: We didn’t have any choice. Rocky: It’s just like Roswell said. Given the circumstances, there was no way we could save them...you’ve gotta understand, Ash. Thomas: Griff and the others were probably taken to the Revolutionary Army HQ. When you go in to rescue Griff, we’ll come along too so we can make it up to you. Forgive us, will ya? Ash: Okay. In any case, let’s head back to Saribash’s place. (Return to the Warehouse) Saribash: ...alright, I see. The Revolutionary HQ is a big target for us. We’ll help you out. Ash: Thanks, Saribash. Saribash: But, this place is dangerous! Get what you need on a freighter and make for Bornea City. Joyce: Is that safe? Saribash: There’s nowhere safe in this country right now. But if we head out this way, it’ll reduce civilian casualties. Thomas: We’ll help out with loading the cargo. Saribash: Nah, you guys get your preparations done and guard the port. I’ll be counting on you when it comes to crunch time. Thomas: Gwahaha, leave it to us! Saribash: I’m heading back to my office. Let me know when you’re done preparing. (Return to Saribash’s Office) Saribash: All ready? (Select YES) Saribash: Alright, we’ll be done loading soon, so about guard duty... Guard: Boss! We’ve got trouble! The Revolutionary Army is almost in town. Saribash: What!? Shit! Thomas! Hurry up and get out there! I don’t want a fight in the city so hit them by the port! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 11 - Diaraba Port ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 11 [IN11] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SPECIAL EVENT 09 - Ven's Past ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ FREIGHTER: Joyce: So these enemies, they’re headed upriver towards us? Joyce: We’ve got aircraft on the radar...probably choppers... Thomas: Nope, those aren’t just choppers. Joyce: How can you tell? Roswell: Hmm, they’re going too fast to be choppers. Possibly...VTOL. Could be attack models. Joyce: The Revolutionary Army has that kind of hardware? Thomas: They must have stole them from O.C.U. bases. But, I’m not sure how their pilots can fly them. Joyce: So, we’ll have to intercept them from the ship’s deck... Thomas: Right, if we were to put all 7 units on deck we couldn’t move. Let’s use 4 at the most. (Move to the Cargo Hold) Ash: Rocky, are the wanzers all ready? Rocky: Y-yeah Ash, they’re good to go... Got anti-air weapons equipped too... Pike: Why are you so nervous all of a sudden? Rocky: It’s nothing... Just some pre-battle jitters is all... (Talk to the Mechanic in the Cargo Hold) Mechanic: Working for Saribash ain't easy, huh? (Return to the Deck) Thomas: The enemy is right on top of us! Are you ready? (Select YES) Thomas: Alright, let’s hit them from the deck! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 12 - Freighter ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 12 [IN12] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ BORNEA: Thomas: So, this is Bornea... Ash: Is this your first time here? Thomas: Hrm? Yeah. I’ve only ever really been around the capital. Saribash: Head over to the agit carefully. We’ve got things to discuss about the next operation. (Move to the Liquid Bar) Bartender: I hear the Revolutionary Army invaded Diaraba... Hope nothing like that happens here. Enduring Erik: Just when I finally get my Japanese work visa they shut down the border, and my plans are shot to hell. Gung-ho Ted: I never thought there’d be a revolution here. Who would have thought anyone would be motivated enough to get it going... Nutty Jack: The Revolutionary Army brought their war to Diaraba. It’d be nice if we didn’t get caught up in that firestorm. Know-it-all Michelle: The Revolutionary Army isn’t trying to control the outlying cities. Until their take-over of the capital is complete, they just don’t have the time. (After Saribash mentions his recruiting drive for arena fighters) Bartender: I hear someone is mustering the arena boys for a war...as a bartender, I’m a happy man. (Move to the Arena) Gambling Master Maverick: Did something happen in Diaraba? Are we okay here? Just as soon as this bet clears, I’m outta here! Jeering Welt: Hey, hey! Your aim’s way off! Are you asleep motherfucker!? Good Time Mary: The arena is the best thing about this country! You guys in for a fight, too? TV Lover Elena: Not many customers in today... Maybe they’re watching the Revolutionary Army versus O.C.U. fight on the tube? (After Saribash mentions his recruiting drive for arena fighters) Gambling Master Maverick: I hear someone’s recruiting pilots from the arena for their own little army... Well, if it brings down the price of gambling, I’m all for it. Good Time Mary: If they’re gonna take the pilots from here to attack this prison camp, that means things are gonna get pretty dull around here. (Move to the Agit) Saribash: We’re going to carry out an attack on the detainment camp. Ash: Are you doing this for us? Saribash: Partially. But, my real target is Ven. Thomas: You want a decisive assault that will put an end to this in one go. Saribash: That’s right. If this war drags on, we could be in trouble. It seems like the Revolutionary Army just keeps getting stronger. Rocky: But since this is their HQ, isn’t it going to be pretty heavily guarded...? Saribash: No, they haven’t left many men guarding it. Right now, all that’s there is Ven’s personal guard. We stand a good chance of winning. Thomas: Well, how many men do we got? Saribash: Aside from you guys, there’s my boys, a tank unit, and a unit of five hired guns from the arena. Thomas: Hired guns? You can’t trust those guys. Saribash: The only other guys left at the arena weren’t interested in my money. If you can’t persuade them with cash... Thomas: You do it with force... Saribash: That’s right. If you think you’ve got the right stuff, you can try taking them on at the arena and see if they won’t change their mind. That is, if you really think the hired guns can’t be trusted. Anyhow we’re leaving tonight, and attacking tomorrow at dawn, so hurry up and get ready. Roswell: What do we know about the enemy’s numbers? Saribash: All we know is posted on the network. This is the password. (Move to the Underground Warehouse) Warehouse Manager: Backpacks that can hold items can also fire chaff and smoke a long ways. (Move to the Arena Management Room) Arena Manager: Ah, it’s you guys. Saribash told me about you. You’re looking for an assault team? These guys say they’ll help with the assault on the facility if you beat them in a team match. Good luck. (After winning in a team battle with Teams A, B, or C) Ash: Alright, looks like we can take these guys along now. (Return to the Agit and talk to Saribash) Saribash: Seems like you won the team battle. What are you going to do with those guys? Ash: (Choose Team A, B, or C) Saribash: Alright, so you’ve chosen your team. Now hurry up with the assault preparations. (Return to the Underground Warehouse) Warehouse Manager: Ah, it’s you guys. Ash: Is something going on? Warehouse Manager: Some shabby looking guys just came in here begging for me to sell them some wanzer parts. They were so persistent I ended up doing it, but I wonder if they got permission from the boss? Amia: What do you think it was all about? Warehouse Manager: Who knows, I just gave in to them and sold the stuff... Joyce: I haven’t heard anything from Saribash about this... Warehouse Manager: Yeah, I guess I might get some flack from the boss... (Return to the Bar) Refugee Leader: ...So it seems we’ll likely be spotted by their helicopter patrols near the border. Refugee Child: What’ll we do if we’re spotted? Refugee Leader: ...We’ll probably be slaughtered to the last man. Refugee Child: Well, why don’t we just go for it then? Refugee Leader: No, absolutely not. I won’t have us fighting. We’re trying to get away to a country without fighting, not get into more of it. Refugee Child: Aw, come on, you wimp!! Joyce: Hey, you should listen to the kid. Refugee Leader: Who the hell are you guys? Joyce: Sorry for running my mouth, but I couldn’t help it sitting there listening to you. Refugee Leader: What do you got to say to me? Joyce: This kid is telling you to fight. I think you should too. Refugee Leader: Look, we’re pacifists. We’re not looking for an outsider like you to show up and smear our principles. Ash: But, you guys want to get across the border...right? Getting across isn’t going to be some cakewalk. You’ve got no choice but to fight. Joyce: Yeah, we thought about crossing the border once too, but it was no good. Surveillance is too tight. You’ll be spotted right away. Refugee Leader: It’s not like we don’t know that! Joyce: Well then, you oughta know that you’re going to have to fight! Refugee Leader: Shut up! Joyce: You can’t seriously be thinking of going without putting up a fight! You’ve got to fight!! Refugee Leader: Shut up! Shut the fuck up, you two!! Get out of here!! (Leave the Bar) Amia: Hey, wait you guys! Joyce: What, that guy! Refugee Leader: ...Hey, listen guys. I’m asking you not to talk about fighting in front of the kids. Please, no more... Joyce: But come on! Thomas: Hey, hey, Joyce. Let’s take a walk over this-a-way. Joyce: Thomas. Thomas: I can understand what you’re trying to say. Sometimes I think the same thing. That the wars should end with our generation. Refugee Leader: Right...war is nothing but hardship. It leaves nothing but suffering. Violence begets more violence, that’s all. Joyce: But, if you don’t fight... Refugee Leader: I know, alright! That’s why I got a wanzer. I’ll hold off the patrol troops – buy the others some time to get to a land without fighting. Amia: That’s impossible! Refugee Leader: But, I’ve got no choice. Joyce: You’re already dead... Refugee Leader: What!? Joyce: At the very least, you’re already dead. Refugee Leader: If I die, and the others can make it across... Thomas: ...If you’re going to go out there with a death wish, just forget it already. Refugee Leader: Now you’re against me too!? Thomas: Think about what happens after you die. Maybe the kids will make it even if you die...but, those kids will grow up wanting revenge on this land. For you. Refugee Leader: ...So, what should I do then? Thomas: We’ll help you get across the border. What you should do is accept our help. Refugee Leader: Really...? Joyce: Hrmph! Guess we’ve got no choice. But, I’m not doing it for your sake. I just don’t want those kids coming back here looking for revenge. Amia: Haha...they seem pretty rough after all. Refugee Leader: ...Thanks. Thanks for the help. We’ll go wait near the border for you guys to show up. (Upon leaving the area) Joyce: Is it alright to go without mentioning this to Saribash? Ash: Since he said we’d be leaving at night, there shouldn’t be any problem as long as we’re quick about this. Joyce: Yeah... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 64 - Area X Border ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ BORNEA: Saribash: Where the hell have you guys been!? Get your shit together and let’s move out! (Upon leaving the area again) Saribash: Alright, is everyone ready? (Select YES) Saribash: Okay then, let's head for the detainment facility! Thomas: Hey, are you going too, Saribash? Saribash: Yeah, I’m not going to make you guys take this one on by yourselves. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ PRISONER DETAINMENT FACILITY: Ven: I looked you up – you’re officers from the Intelligence Division. Lisa: Right, so you might know why we’re in Alordesh then. Ven: You’re talking about the system? Lisa: It’s useless to you! Ven: That machine is something that should have never been invented. But, it can be used to achieve national independence. Tell me, Captain. If I announce the system’s capabilities to the world, what response could the O.C.U. possibly make? Lisa: You stole the system to threaten the O.C.U.? Ven: Naturally. All we desire is our independence. Independence for Alordesh, without reliance on any other state. That is my one and only desire. Lisa: ... (Command Room) Gwianda: What did you manage to get out of that woman? Ven: It seems from her behaviour that the O.C.U. still does not know the location of the system. Man: If that’s the case, where exactly has it gone? Gwianda: So, you’re here...Henschel. Henschel: I’m your sponsor. I need to ensure a positive outcome for this revolution. Ven: I will find it. Have no doubt about that. Henschel: Just remember how important it is that you do. Without the system, the revolution will not succeed. Do not forget your obligation to cooperate, in exchange for the Intergehen Corporation’s support in this revolution. Captain: Lieutenant Colonel Mackarge! Preparations for departure are complete. Henschel: Departure? Gwianda: It appears Saribash’s forces are headed here. We are temporarily moving our HQ. Ven says he has a plan for repulsing their attack. Henschel: Ah, excellent. I’m counting on you, Ven. Ven: ... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 13 - Prisoner Detainment Facility ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 13 [IN13] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ BORNEA: June 18, 2102 – 11:00 AM Thomas: Whew, we’re finally back. Well, come on! Let’s hit the bar! Roswell: Miss Amia, would you care to go for lunch with me? Amia: Well, if you’re buying, I’ll come along. Roswell: Ahhh, well you see, in my homeland we have a rule that a man only goes out with a girl if they go dutch... Amia: Where are you from anyway? Roswell: That’s a s-e-c-r-e-t. Amia: ... Joyce: Hey, cheer up, Ash. It’s not your fault that Griff wasn’t in the detainment facility. Ash: Yeah, but... Joyce: Look, there weren’t any prisoners there at all. That means everyone, including Griff, must have been moved somewhere else. Am I right? Ash: Yeah... Joyce: So, we’ve still got a chance of saving him, right? Ash: ... Rocky: Ash. Ash: ...? Rocky: Ah...I...ah...you don’t have to but... Ash: ...? Rocky: The two of us could...ah, no, nevermind...forget it... Ash: ...? (Move to the Agit) Lila: Thomas. Thomas: Hey Lila, you went on ahead of us? Lila: There was someone who wanted to meet you, just now. Thomas: A guest? A woman? Lila: No, it was a man. I said you weren’t here so he went to wait for you at the bar... Thomas: Who is he? Lila: He said if I mentioned the name "Domingo" you’d understand... Thomas: Domingo!? Rocky: Someone you know...? Thomas: Yeah, a pal from way back. Gwahaha, so he’s still alive!! Alright, I’m off to the bar. Anyone interesting in coming along? Roswell: If you’re buying, I’ll come. Thomas: Sure, I’m meeting up with an old friend. I might as well buy a few rounds. Pike: If you’re offering free liquor, count me in too. Amia: We’ll stay here. Ash isn’t really in a partying mood. Thomas: What about you, Rocky? Rocky: Y-yeah... Thomas: Hey, this isn’t like you. Make up your mind. Rocky: Yeah...I’ll go. (Move to the Bar) Bartender: So, the arena pilots are back from the raid...I’m just glad they’re okay. Nutty Jack: I wonder if this country will return to poverty if the O.C.U. puts down the revolution. (Talk to Domingo) Domingo: Thomas!! You came! Thomas: Domingo!! Since when have you been in Alordesh? Domingo: Just recently. But hey, let’s worry about that stuff later. Roswell: Thomas, that... Thomas: It’s Domingo. Roswell: Right, that Domingo guy...just what kind of friend of yours is he? Thomas: Well you see, way back when I was dispatched to the Gabon Civil War, there was a bit of trouble... Domingo: Thomas got captured by the rebel army. Thomas: Hey now, that was part of the operation. Domingo: Oh, the part where they decided to roast you over a fire? By the time I got there, you were hanging from the roof like a smoked salmon. Rocky: So you saved Thomas...? Thomas: That’s right! This guy is the elite of the elite after all! On top of that, he can climb into any machine and pilot it just off the top of his head! A genius! Pike: So, what are you doing here? Domingo: I’m a member of the O.C.U. prisoner rescue operation. Rocky: !! Domingo: Don’t worry. I didn’t come here to capture you guys. I knew Thomas was with the mafia, so I thought I’d come ask for his help. Thomas: This guy doesn’t stab his friends in the back. Pike: ... Domingo: Well enough about that. Let’s just have a good time today. Drinks are on me. (The screen turns black: Snore...) Thomas: Hmm...? So I nodded off eh... Yawn. Hey, get up you two. Roswell: Mrnm, yawnnnn! Rocky: Uh...Thomas, where’s Domingo...? Thomas: That Pike guy’s not here either. (Leave the Bar) Thomas: Ah, so you were out here, eh Pike? Pike: I was seeing off Domingo. Thomas: Leaving without even saying goodbye... Pike: He said he had work to get to. Thomas: Huh, well I guess that’s that then. Pike: When he left he said, we’d be meeting again. What do you think he meant? Thomas: That he’d come see us again? (Move to the Arena) Gambling Master Maverick: Seems there’s a lot more pilots here again. I’m getting stressed figuring out my bets. Jeering Welt: Hey dumbass, you missed! What are you, asleep!? Down-on-his-luck Tang: These days I hang around the arena, but back in the day I used to have a real job with Papel Industries. Hey, this is the password to Papel’s site. I’ll give it to ya. I got it a long time ago, so I’m not sure if it still works though. Once you become a loser like me it’s all over. Nothing but downhill from here... Good Time Mary: Hey, the pilots who went out on that raid are back! Things are gonna liven up. (Move to the Reception Room in the Agit) Saribash: There’s trouble! Thomas: What’s got you so riled up? Saribash: A huge Revolutionary Army unit is headed for the capital! They’re trying to take back the capital from the O.C.U.! Joyce: So, what are you going to do about it? Saribash: If the Revolutionary Army wins here, it’ll be a major setback for us. I want to get ready to crush them now. Amia: So that means we’re supposed to come along too? Saribash: Yeah, please. If we win here, I’ll help rescue your friend. Ash: ...got it. Saribash: I’ll put the data I’ve got on the Revolutionary Army and O.C.U.’s fighting strength up on the network. Here’s the password. Thomas: Man, and I’m still hung over... Lila: The Revolutionary Army is headed for the capital...won’t many civilians be caught in the fight? Saribash: I won’t let Ven get away with this any longer. (Upon leaving the area) Saribash: You ready? (Select YES) Thomas: Saribash, are you sure you’re okay with fighting in the capital... Saribash: We can’t help it. No matter what we do, the O.C.U. and Revolutionary Army are going to be fighting there anyway. I’d hate to have to help the O.C.U. out on this, though. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 14 - Central Dhaka ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 14 [IN14] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ NEWS BROADCAST: At approximately 5 PM, following the success of the hostage rescue operation on June 17, Alordesh Revolutionary Army forces guarding the capital Dhaka under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Ven Mackarge engaged in a large-scale battle with O.C.U. forces which continued for over 2 hours. During this battle, the Revolutionary Army dispatched 2 PB-40 strategic bombers from O.C.U. Deean Air Force Base to launch strikes in the capital. As a result of these strikes, the O.C.U. forces were almost entirely destroyed, and the whereabouts of their commander Andrew Hordman are currently unknown. The Alordesh Revolutionary Army has once again occupied the capital, but with over a thousand casualties arising from this battle, it is rumored that the criticisms of the Revolutionary Army are increasing. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SPECIAL EVENT 10 - Prisoners ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ O.C.U. DEEAN AIR FORCE BASE: Sayuri: Lisa. Lisa: ... Sayuri: LI-SA! Lisa: !? What? What is it, Sayuri? Sayuri: Hrm, daydreaming eh? Lisa: I was just thinking about when we got out of the chopper...the Revolutionary Army had far more equipment than they should... Sayuri: So what does... Lisa: There was a considerable amount of cutting-edge technology there that wasn’t assigned to the O.C.U. bases in Alordesh. I wonder how the Revolutionary Army manage to get a hold of it... Captain: Get out, both of you. Sayuri: Time for interrogation? Captain: No. I’m getting you out of here. Lisa: Come again? Cordy: Lisa! Lisa: Cordy! And Griff too! Griff: I don’t get it either, but this Captain seems serious. Captain: Hurry, I’ll take you to the hangar. (Leave the Jail) Alordeshi Soldier: Interrogating the prisoners, Captain? Captain: That’s right. Alordeshi Soldier: It’ll be tough handling four of them all at once. I’ll send some guards over. Captain: That’s fine. I’ll be alright on my own. Alordeshi Soldier: But... Captain: Don’t question me! This is an order from the General! Alordeshi Soldier: Y-yes sir! Please proceed! (Talk to the Captain) Lisa: You’re the only one who knows about this, aren’t you? Captain: For now. But, it’ll come out pretty soon. Lisa: You’re a close associate of Ven’s aren’t you? How come you’re...? Captain: The Lieutenant Colonel is MIA. There’s no reason for me to be here. Lisa: MIA!? Captain: I’ll explain later. Let’s hurry to the hangar. (Move to the Hangar) Sayuri: There’s our wanzers! Captain: Your equipment is all here. Lisa: I’ve got one more question. Are you deserting because Ven has gone missing in action? Captain: The Revolutionary Army no longer follows the Lieutenant Colonel’s ideals. It’s all General Gwianda’s fault. Lisa: Has General Gwianda imprisoned Ven? Captain: You might not know this, but the coup was planned by General Gwianda and Intergehen. Lisa: Intergehen? Captain: The company supplying our – no, the Revolutionary Army with weapons. I don’t know any more than that... Griff: Less talking, more helping, Lisa! Lisa: Right. Oh, I almost forgot to ask Captain, but what’s your name? Maylan: My name is Maylan. Lisa: Well then, pleased to meet you, Captain Maylan. (Choose Setup) Maylan: There’s not a lot, but some of our equipment is here. If you need anything, now’s the time to take it. (Leave the Hangar) Maylan: Preparations complete? (Select YES) Maylan: Right then, I’ll go first. Everyone, follow me. Sayuri: Can we really trust him? Lisa: I don’t think we have much choice. Griff: Just a matter of not getting caught. Cordy: I’m more worried about what happens after we escape the base. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 15 - O.C.U. Deean Air Force Base ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 15 [IN15] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DIARABA: June 18, 2102 – 10:00 PM Lisa: Well? Were you able to make contact? Sayuri: Nope. No reply at all. I can’t get through on the satellite uplink or the naval comm net. This wireless transceiver is too weak. It can’t get through. Griff: After we made it all the way to Diaraba, there’s still nothing we can do... Lisa: Let’s look for the mafia’s agit. Maybe Thomas and his men will be there. Cordy: You don’t know where the agit is, right? Lisa: All we can do is look. (Access the network and read Maylan's history in the Alordesh Forces databse) ID# AA1-F1257 Alordesh Army 1st Mechanized Division Rank: Captain Sayuri: Wow, you're pretty young for your rank. Maylan: ... Career: Born July 25, 2065, in Rangpur, People's Republic of Bangladesh. 2084: After graduating from high school, entered army officer's academy. 2086: Obtained wanderpanzer operator's qualifications, and was assigned to the Alordesh Army's 6th Mechanized Division. At this time, he held the rank of Second Lieutenant. 2090: Assumed position of commander in 2nd Mobile Company of the 6th Mechanized Division. Promoted to rank of Lieutenant. Maylan: That was when I first met the Lieutenant Colonel. Lisa: What sort of person was Ven at that time? Maylan: He had a fierce idealism and sense of justice, just like he does now. However, he recently often seemed weighed down by the weight of his thoughts. Lisa: Do you think that had something to do with the coup d'etat? Maylan: Yes, I certainly do. 2098: He was transferred to the 1st Mechanized Division's 2nd Mobile Company, and was found innocent of any connection with the coup d'etat attempt led by Rob Azad during this year. 2100: He was made assistant commander of the 1st Mechanized Division and promoted to the rank of Captain. Sayuri: Is there any other interesting info in here? Maylan: Just what's in the Army's information forum. If you manually input ALERT into the system, you can read it. But, I can't say it's anything especially interesting. (Access the network and input ALERT in the Alordesh Forces database. Then, access Maylan's information and read the section on the Air Force.) Maylan: Isn't that enough? Even though I ran from it, it's still hard for me to look over the data of my army's decay. Lisa: Wait! What is this character string displayed on the console? Maylan: DEACON eh... Seems like a password. Lisa: Where can we input it? Maylan: I don't know. (Access the network and input DEACON into the Alordesh Forces database. Then, access Maylan's information.) Computer: WARNING!! WARNING!! WARNING!! WARNING!! WARNING!! WARNING!! WARNING!! WARNING!! WARNING!! WARNING!! WARNING!! WARNING!! WARNING!! WARNING!! WARNING!! Maylan: It seems like my callsign isn't going to work. Sayuri: Whose should we use then? Maylan: The Lieutenant Colonel's special password might let us get access. Lisa: Special password? Maylan: The one that the Lieutenant Colonel used for his exchanges with Intergehen. Sayuri: How come you know Ven's password? Maylan: Because the Lieutenant Colonel trusted me... Lisa: So, what's the password? Maylan: BANIYAN... The name of a poet the Lieutenant Colonel liked. Computer: Your check code does not grant you access to view this data. Now forcibly terminating connection. (Access the network and input DEACON into the Alordesh Forces database. Then, input BANIYAN and read the section on delivery data.) Maylan: No doubt about it... This is a list of equipment delivered from Intergehen to the Alordesh Army. Sayuri: Wow. These types of weapons are usually used by the O.C.U. Lisa: There isn't any data about where Intergehen's whereabouts in there? Maylan: Let's take a closer look. (Move to the Bar) Bartender: The mafia agit? Hrm, now that you mention it there were some people in here just a while ago...But, I’m afraid I can’t tell you that anyhow. Drunkard Snorken: Diaraba’s aaa, p-portt y’see... Talkative Stalt: The people of Alordesh are always relying on some other country. Until they develop a true national spirit of cooperation, they’ll never really be independent. Friendly-looking Lala: The mafia are the ones who really run the arena, you know. Drinking Jennifer: Seems there was a huge battle in the capital. The O.C.U. forces were completely wiped out. Not that it has anything to do with me. (After going to the Agit) Bartender: What, so you guys know Saribash too? Small world huh. Drunkard Snorken: Royd’ss...a fuckin...pussy! *hic* (Move to the Arena) Nervous Grace: Whaaaaaaaaaaaaa!! Royd’s Acquaintance Judy: If you want to meet Royd, put a woman in the ring. Battle-Hardened Milene: When it comes down to the line, pilots with real battle experience know what to do. (Participate in the Arena with Lisa, Sayuri, or Cordy and defeat Royd) Royd: Dammit all! I lost to a woman! Lisa: Hey, I’ve got something to ask you. Royd: W-what! Now this sounds familiar. Sayuri: We want to know where to find the Burg Transportation office. Royd: Ahh, of course you do! Cordy: So you’ll just tell us straight up, right!? Royd: I’ll tell ya! I’ll tell ya! I’ll tell ya straight so don’t bother me, okay? Griff: Man, he’s just as weird as I’d heard. (After going to the Agit) Rowdy Jack: Sock ‘em one!!! Alrightt!!! That’s more like it!!!!!! Royd’s Acquaintance Judy: So, you managed to meet Royd, right? (Move to the Port) Royd: Well, here we are...what? Lisa: The agit is really here? Cordy: If you screw us, I’ll get you! Royd: ...man, I’m getting used to people not trusting me... Lisa: He really is strange, isn’t he? (Move to the Agit from the Port) Lisa: Thanks for showing us here. And thanks... Royd: I-I don’t need no thanks. S-see ya later. I’m out of here. Bye! Griff: Strange until the end, huh. Guard: Who’s there!? Cordy: Huh? You’re the guy from Daukandei... Guard: Cordy? And the O.C.U. military... Lisa: We’d like to meet with your boss. Guard: How come? Lisa: We’d like his help, in exchange for some info we’ve got on the Revolutionary Army. Guard: I can’t trust you. You’ve really got some info for us? Maylan: I’ve got it. Guard: Maylan!? Ven’s right-hand man!? Maylan: That’s right. I’ve deserted from the Revolutionary Army. I’m the living info, so to speak. Guard: ...okay. I’ll trust ya. But, the boss is in Bornea. I don’t have any way of getting you there right now. Sorry, but you’ll have to make it to Bornea on your own. You can use the warehouse and rooms for now, though. Lisa: Thanks for the help. (Move to Saribash’s Office) Lisa: Whew, I’m tired. Let’s take a rest. Maylan: Lisa, I’ve got one thing to ask you. Just what sort of thing is this system? Griff: By system, you mean the thing Lisa’s been looking for right? Cordy: Isn’t it some kind of unmanned recon controller? Maylan: It’s supposed to be a lot more than just that. The Lieutenant Colonel thought that if he could get a hold of it, our independence would be assured. Griff: What, so you were lying to us about what this thing is really about!? Sayuri: It’s no lie! We just thought if I explained it, you wouldn’t understand. Lisa: Just like Sayuri said, we were lying. But, I didn’t want to discuss any of the specifics of the system... Maylan: I have to know. This system is part of what started the revolution, after all. Lisa: ...Alright, fine. I’ll talk. ...the system can completely control unmanned weapons. That much is true. Griff: But, that shouldn’t be such a big deal right now. It’d be useful for controlling wanzer-equipped cruise missiles, but not much else. Lisa: You’re not thinking big enough. What if it could control 3 wanzer armies, 4 helicopter companies, an aircraft carrier and the planes onboard it? Cordy: ...you could certainly take control of Alordesh with that. Lisa: Once you input the operational data into this machine, your units will keep fighting until they run out of power. All you need humans for is to resupply them... Griff: I don’t like it one bit. It’s the same as robots controlling humans. Lisa: But, the system was developed without the approval of the O.C.U. Central Parliament... Griff: If it was revealed to parliament, what’d happen? Lisa: It’d be a scandal even bigger than Sakata Industries. Maylan: So, the Lieutenant Colonel wanted to blackmail the O.C.U. with the device... Cordy: But, Ven never had the system. Lisa: We have to find it before the Revolutionary Army does. Maylan: What if you find it? Are you just going to let the O.C.U. military use it? Lisa: ...my orders are only to retrieve the system...but if I do find it...I intend to destroy it right then and there. Sayuri: Lisa... Lisa: When I first heard of the system I got the shivers... Weapons beyond the control of human reason...it’s a terrifying prospect... Maylan: ... (Move to the Warehouse) Warehouse Manager: Welcome. The thing you got from the last battle is being sent here. It’s a Restore ALL. (Ask for combat tips from the Warehouse Manager) Warehouse Manager: You can see the weapons each manufacturer offers on their forums. The data is often being updated, so you should check it out when you can. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SPECIAL EVENT 11 - Revolutionary Army Movements ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ BORNEA: June 19, 2012 - 3:00 AM Saribash: Ven! Just what the hell have you been up to all this time? Is your idea to indiscriminately bomb this country to pieces!? Ven: How many times do I have to tell you? I wasn’t the one who ordered the bombing. Saribash: Well then, just who the hell was it!? Just who in the revolutionary leadership aside from you could hand out those kind of orders!? Ven: ... Saribash: A whole lot of civilians died in those bombings! And yet, here you are playing innocent!! Pike: Hey now, just yelling at your prisoners isn’t any kind of way to hold an interrogation. Isn’t that right, Lieutenant Colonel Mackarge? Ven: ... Ash: Ven, I want to ask you something. Was there a man named Griff among the O.C.U. prisoners you captured? Ven: Griff...yeah, there was. Ash, hm...you used to be a 2nd Lieutenant back then, right? Ash: !! Ven: So I was right...are you still trying to get in our way...in the way of the revolution!? Saribash: What revolution!? Don’t make me laugh! Ven. Revolution has to be carried out by the whole people! All you soldiers are doing is stealing citizens’ lives in your worthless acts of terrorism! Don’t you get it after all this!! Huh!? Thomas: Calm down, Saribash! Saribash: I’ve had enough of being calm!! I’m gonna kill Ven! Let go of me! Thomas: Hey! You guys, don’t just stand there, get Ven into another room! Do it! Make sure you guard it too! Joyce: Well then, if you’ll follow me. Saribash: Keep a close watch on Ven for me. Lila: Ven... (Move to the Guest Room) Ven: ... Joyce: Go on, talk to me. I’ve gotta stay awake here. Ven: ... Joyce: You’re a cold one, ain’t ya? No joke. Lila: Joyce. Joyce: Lila...what’s the matter? Lila: I brought some dinner...is it okay if I come in? Joyce: ...Your voice is trembling, Lila. Lila: !! Joyce: There are sleeping pills in that food aren’t there? ...you trying to break Ven out of here? Ven: !! Lila: Joyce...I...I... Joyce: Do whatever you like. Lila: What!? Joyce: I’ll pretend I got careless and let him get away. Lila: Joyce... Joyce: Well then, get him out of here will ya? You don’t want to get spotted before you even make it out of the agit. Lila: Th-thank you...Joyce. Joyce: ...Ven! Ven: !? Joyce: I don’t know what you’re going to do from here on in. But, if I meet you on the battlefield again, I will kill you. Just remember that. Ven: ... Lila: Hurry, Ven, let’s go. Joyce: ... (Leave the Guest Room) June 19, 2102 - 8:00 AM Saribash: Ven got away!? Joyce: Yeah, that’s right. Saribash: "That’s right"!? Yeah, that’s right!? How can you be so calm about this!! Do you know what the fuck you just did!? Joyce: Well y’know...you win some, you lose some. Saribash: ...I’ll tear your fucking head off!!! Lila: Papa! Stop!! This isn’t Joyce’s fault! I... Joyce: Lila! Nice of you to cover for me, but you don’t have to go talking that way. Thomas: Saribash, you know it would’ve been a mistake to kill this guy just now, right? Ash: It’s not like Joyce would just let him run after all we’ve been through. Isn’t that right, Joyce? Joyce: Hm? Yeah...sure. Thomas: Look, Saribash. We’ve got something more important to do than throwing a fit, am I right? Saribash: ...alright. I’ll listen to you guys this time. But! If this happens again, it’s gonna get ugly! You got that!? Joyce: Yeah, I’ll watch it. Saribash: Anyhow. Since Ven escaped, it’s just a matter of time before the Revolutionary Army comes pouring in here. I’ll form up some units and do some recon. Can you guys go too? Thomas: Yeah, sure. If there’s money in it for us. Saribash: We’ll be scouting the outskirts of Bornea. First, Unit 1 will scout the northern outskirts. Then, Unit 2 will scout the eastern outskirts. Next... Thomas: We’ll take that one. Saribash: If you spot something, contact me right away. Roswell: Ah, but isn’t the route going to be too transparent? Won’t we get spotted? Saribash: Try to be careful out there. Anyhow, hurry up and move out. The Revolutionary Army isn’t going to wait for us! (Leave the Reception Room) Lila: Joyce...I...ah... Joyce: You don’t have to say anything Lila. I got out of there without your father killing me, after all. Lila: ... (Ask for combat tips from the Warehouse Manager) Warehouse Manager: If you clock up your CPUs, it’ll increase your attack accuracy. It’s worth doing when you’ve got some money to burn. (Upon leaving the area) Thomas: Hey-o, ready to go? (Select YES) Thomas: Hey-o, off to the front we go! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 16 - Bornea Outskirts ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 16 [IN16] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ BORNEA: June 19, 2102 - 2:00 PM Thomas: Err...well...about...about earlier...sorry about that, Lisa. Sayuri: You expect us to forgive you!? You must be joking! Don’t you have any idea what sort of impression you left back there!? Roswell: Hey now, Miss Sayuri. Umm, we didn’t MEAN to leave you back there. I actually tried to go save you. So... Rocky: I know this isn’t the time for making excuses... Sorry... Roswell: Hey look, Rocky said he’s sorry too so... Sayuri: I’m not going to be the one apologizing here! (Move to the Reception Room in the Agit) Pike: Say Lisa, how is General Chang-Jang these days? Lisa: ... Pike: Judging by that taciturn disposition, I gather that you haven’t found the system yet, have you? Thomas: What are you guys talking about? What’s this "system"? Pike: The remote controller for an automated weapons system the O.C.U. Military is dead-set on hiding. I’m going to find it and tell the whole world about their little plan. That’s why I came to Alordesh. Thomas: ...Is something like that really all that useful? Joyce: What do you mean, Thomas? Thomas: Well, wirelessly operated machines are vulnerable to EMP bursts. There was a time when EMP weapons had limited range and weren’t very effective. But nowadays, military satellites can unleash pulses of up to 1000 km in radius. Against a weapon like that, this automated weapon would be so much junk. Pike: Why don’t you tell them about it Lisa? They’re not such big-shots after all. Griff: Is there something you still haven’t told us? Pike: Do you want me to explain then? Lisa: No. That won’t be necessary...one of the terrifying things about the system is certainly the fact that it can be remotely controlled...but, there’s another... The system has another function... The system is equipped on an artificial satellite. Though it's somewhat bound by technical limitations, the system can basically take control of all other satellites in range of the path of its orbit... That isn’t limited to O.C.U. satellites. It can take control of any nation’s satellites... The system can then make use of any satellites it hacked as weapons... Of course, it can then use those satellites to strike targets on the ground. That’s the true purpose of the "FENRIR" system... Griff: FENRIR, huh... Thomas: Nuclear weapons equipped on military satellites, EMP weapons, surveillance equipment...it can take control of all those things... "He who controls space, controls earth", huh. Pike: No point in leaking that kind of technology to other countries. It’d be a shame to be harassed by so many foreign powers. Lisa: ... Pike: Lisa, our objectives are different but we’re chasing the same thing. If you’re willing, I’d appreciate your help. Sayuri: Yeah right! As if we’d ever work with the CIU! Lisa: After we find FENRIR, you promise not to stop me from destroying it. Are we clear? Pike: Of course, I only want to take a photo before you do. Lisa: ...I’ll think about it. Sayuri: Lisa! Thomas: There’s just one thing I don’t understand. Why would the O.C.U. move something so important to Alordesh? Ash: Yeah. Rimian Base doesn’t exactly seem like the best place to hide something top-secret. Pike: I don’t know what the O.C.U. was actually thinking. But, I can’t imagine that it was just a matter of chance. Lisa: ... (Talk to Lila) Lila: My father is in the basement warehouse. (Leave the Reception Room) Joyce: What should we do about what they were talking about back there? It doesn’t seem to have much to do with us. Amia: Yeah, since we’ve found Griff maybe we should come up with a plan for getting out of this country. Joyce: Well, why don’t we do that at the bar? Griff’s back and the four of us ought to celebrate. Ash: Yeah, let’s do that. Griff: ... Ash: What’s wrong, Griff? Amia: You look kinda down. Griff: Just tired, that’s all...I’m fine. (Talk to Saribash at the Underground Warehouse) Saribash: I’m busy...come talk to me later. Oh, by the way, thanks for running that recon mission. (Move to the Bar) Joyce: Here’s a toast to our reunion with Griff! Amia: Yeah, we can finally say goodbye to this country! Joyce: You seem pretty happy about that. Amia: You’ve got that right. I got dragged into coming back here because of you and Ash’s personal feelings. Joyce: Hey, why are you lumping me in there with Ash? Amia: You think I didn’t know? That you’re sweet on Lila? Joyce: H-Hey, what are you talking about there, Amia? Amia: Well, there’s that look you get in your eye when you’re looking at Lila. Joyce: Aw, come on... Ash: Seriously though, I’m sorry about dragging you into all this, Amia. Amia: Oh it’s alright, that’s life after all. Joyce: Hey, Griff, what’s the matter? You feeling alright? Griff: ...yeah. Ash: You’ve been like this since you heard what Lisa was talking about. Does it have something to do with that? Griff: I’m sorry Ash...I...I...might know where...FENRIR is. Amia: W-WHAT!? Griff: The reason I stuck around Alordesh wasn’t just because I was worried about you guys...I...a while back I took some surplus weapons from the MDF... Ash: ... Griff: I just did it for the money! I’m too old to get promoted in the MDF! And I don’t have the guts to quit the MDF and start at another job! Ash: Griff...! Griff: I’ve got a wife and kids...I just wanted them to have enough money to live a happy life... Joyce: You bastard! Do you have any idea how much Ash went through because he was worried about you? Ash, he... Ash: Joyce! That’s enough! Joyce: Aren’t you mad about this!? Ash: Yeah, I’m mad...but I’ll get over it. It’s like Amia said, that’s life. Joyce: ...Jeez, you’re way too soft, man. Ash: We should tell Pike and the others about this. Griff: Yeah...yeah okay. I’m ready to talk. Thanks, Ash. Bartender: It seems like the Revolutionary Army has finished taking control of the capital...I wonder if we can all breathe a bit easier now? Enduring Eric: Is this country gonna finally settle down? Well, I guess it’s time to get ready for my job abroad. Slacker Ted: So if the revolution succeeds, we have to establish our own state? What a pain... Mercenary Jim: Whoa! Brother!! Here’s the address for Fire Valley’s customer website. They’re from the U.S.N. You interested? (Select YES) Alright, here’s the address...but, if you don’t have the password it don’t mean squat. I’ll sell it to ya for 500. How about it, 500? (Select YES) Sweet brother!! You’re the best. Anyhow, if ya need anything else, lemme know!! Nutty Jessica: You think the Revolutionary Army has finally completed their revolution? I don’t need anymore stress. Know-it-all Michelle: If the Revolutionary Army takes over this country, you can expect them to tighten regulations on entertainment venues. Like the arenas, for example. (Move to the Arena) Gambling Master Maverick: Man, my yomi is way off these days. I wonder if I’ve lost it? Jeering Welt: Arghhh, BAH! Watch what you’re doing. What are you, some kind of pussy!? Good Time Mary: After the Revolutionary Army assumes power, it looks like they’ll crack down the arenas. Sigh, what about the people’s fun... TV Lover Elena: Man, this is dull...the fight between the O.C.U. and the Revolutionary Army was so exciting. (After going to the Bar and returning to the Reception Room) Pike: You said you knew about FENRIR? Were you working with Lisa? Griff: I’m not so sure about it now. To think that kind of crazy stuff is being traded out there... Sayuri: But, you could have said something when we talked before! Griff: When I talked to Lisa before, I just thought the device would be sold for cash... Cordy: Worth a hundred war machines, eh? Sayuri: Shocking! Lisa: Is there a hiding place for the smuggled goods? Griff: At the firing range, near Rimian Base. Joyce: Jeez, it was so close after all. Lisa: Griff, can you take us there? Griff: Yeah, you reap what you sow after all. Ash: I’ll come too. Thomas: We’re in too. Joyce: What’s in it for you? Thomas: Hey, I’m more interested in Griff’s treasure stash than anything Lisa is looking for. Roswell: But Thomas, don’t we need to get permission to go out there from Saribash? Thomas: Of course. (Talk to Saribash in the Underground Warehouse) Saribash: ...You’re all going way out there!? Quit fucking around. We don’t know if the Revolutionary Army is just waiting for us outside of town! Thomas: It’ll just be for a bit! We’ll be back before ya know it. Saribash: Well, just how are you going to get out there from here? Look, if you take the land route you have to pass by Deean A.F.B. and the capital. That’s Ven’s turf right now. On the other hand, if you take the water route...it’s too far, and if you go by boat you’ll stand out too much. Griff: Let us take the underground railroad. Saribash: Wha- How do you know about that!? Griff: I used your smuggling network. I heard from one of your men that there was a secret underground railroad running to the capital. Saribash: Sure the railroad will get you past Deean, and quick too. But, the terminus is in the middle of the capital. What will the Revolutionary Army there do when you show up? Thomas: We’ll play it by ear. Saribash: But... Lisa: We have to go. We can’t let FENRIR fall into Ven’s hands... Saribash: ...Thomas, will you just think straight about this one? Thomas: Saribash...sorry, but it looks like there’ s a lot of money in this one. Don’t worry. If we cause a ruckus in the capital, the Revolutionary Army won’t be coming for Bornea. Saribash: Is that so... Thomas: Well, probably. Saribash: You heartless son of a bitch!! * THE FOLLOWING EVENT ONLY OCCURS IN THE HISTORY AND ULTIMATE HITS VERSIONS * (Access the network and input INANE into the O.C.U. Alordesh database) Sayuri: This data's all scrambled. There's no way we can read it. Lisa: Wait, it looks like there's more to come. (Check code requested. If 13984637 is entered within 400 time frames.) Computer: Level 1 access acquired. Griff: This is all garbled too. Sayuri: But, there's supposed to be a hint in here. (Check code requested. If LOKI is entered within 400 time frames.) Computer: Level 2 access acquired. Lisa: ............ (Check code requested. If ANUBIS is entered within 400 time frames.) Computer: Level 3 access acquired. Maylan: There's still more? Lisa: It seems that way. (Check code requested. If SCHULTZ is entered within 400 time frames.) Computer: The FENRIR Plan - Final Stage. The second applied testing plan is currently proceeding. The weapons being employed in the plan can be reviewed by inputting the Intergehen password: INCITE. Sayuri: What the hell is this? The second applied testing plan... Griff: Could this FENRIR Plan be a plan for making that device? Sayuri: But, there isn't any applied test of FENRIR going on. And what's this about a "second test?" Cordy: This just makes things even more confusing. * THE ABOVE EVENT OCCURS ONLY IN THE HISTORY AND ULTIMATE HITS VERSIONS * (Go to the Underground Railway Station) Thomas: I never knew there was an underground railroad in Alordesh. Saribash: It’s another little parting gift from the O.C.U. It was built so raw materials unloaded in Bornea could be transported to the capital. But there are a lot of rivers in this country, and the ground is soft, so once the highways were done they abandoned this line. Pike: Is everyone ready? (Select YES) Pike: Well then, ladies and gentlemen, let us be off. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SPECIAL EVENT 12 - A Chance for Redemption ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DHAKA UNDERGROUND RAILROAD STATION: Saribash: This is as far as I can get ya. The rest is up to you. Ash: Alright then. Thomas: Alright, time to head out of cover. (Select YES) Saribash: Be careful out there... Ash: Thanks. Thomas: Hey come on, there’s nothing to be worried about. I’ll be back before ya know it. Saribash: I’d appreciate that. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 17 - Central Dhaka ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 17 [IN17] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DHAKA DOWNTOWN ENVIRONS: Ash: It looks like we’ve lost them. Griff: Yeah, it looks like we’ll be able to leave through here. (Select YES) Lisa: We’ll rush through downtown and head for the suburbs. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 18 - Downtown Dhaka ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 18 [IN18] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DAUKANDEI: June 20, 2102 - 0:00 AM Thomas: Whew, looks like we somehow made it. Lisa: Right. I’d like to leave as soon as possible, though. Amia: Hey, give us a break here. Maylan: No, the Revolutionary Army is bound to track us here. We’ve got to hurry. (Move to the Reception Room at the Agit) Guard: You guys, eh? I heard from the boss about you coming. We’ve got the latest gear for ya in the warehouse so check it out. It’ll cost ya of course though. (Move to the Underground Warehouse) Warehouse Manager: Welcome. I’ve got all the stuff you picked up in the last battle. Restore ALL and the Hexafire weapon. Here ya go. (Ask for combat tips from the Warehouse Manager) Warehouse Manager: If you destroy enough enemies and make yourself famous, the enemies might surrender to you just for approaching them. Man, I’d like to be that kinda guy. (Move to the Bar) Bartender: This is just between you and me, but it looks like the capital is in rough shape. Lonely Martin: Heeeeyyyy, youuuu idiottt. Wistful Nick: There are patrol helicopters running all along the border. I wonder if anyone’s managed to get out... Good Time Rosanna: The capital’s been bombed into the stone age. It costs money to destroy, it costs money to rebuild. No matter how you look at it, war is expensive One-Track Mind Elena: Whew, I’ve been hitting the bottle hard lately. The day they cut off the flow of liquor is the day I’ll start my own coup d’etat. (Move to the Arena) Eager Teddy: One day I’ll be a fighter in the arena too. Then I’ll have big money. Solemn Carl: Sigh...To be young again...sigh. Fangirl Ann: The arena without Cordy is like a milk tea without the milk... Sigh.. Fighting Man Enthusiast Dorothy: You think it doesn’t matter if a man is strong or weak? I like fighting men, myself. (Upon leaving the area) Joyce: Ready to head out? (Select YES) Sayuri: The prisoner rescue operations HQ isn’t far from here. Let’s go take a look. Griff: But, weren’t the O.C.U. forces wiped out? What could possibly be there? Sayuri: Well... Thomas: I think we ought to let Lisa’s little princess decide this one. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ O.C.U. PRISONER RESCUE OPERATIONS HQ: Lisa: There’s no one here after all...so it’s true the O.C.U. forces were totally wiped out... Joyce: Yeah, the O.C.U. committed their main force to the capital...then they were wiped out by the Revolutionary Army’s tactical airstrikes... Lisa: ... (Move to the Command Room) Sayuri: No one here, either... Ash: I heard the O.C.U. commander was killed in the airstrikes... Sayuri: Yeah... He was a pretty nasty guy...but to think I’ll never see him again, it’s kinda sad... (A computer is activated) Sayuri: What are you doing? Roswell: Well, I just thought there might be some useful info on this computer. Amia: Well? Roswell: As I expected, nothing major. If you really stretch it, these network addresses from Korea’s Biwu and South Africa’s Masel Industries are kinda interesting. Lisa: Those are both aircraft manufacturers. I wonder why they’d be in there? Roswell: I don’t know. He was probably looking up some data on weapons the Revolutionary Army was using. (Move to the Equipment Booth) Lisa: Even though they were wiped out, it doesn’t mean that all the soldiers died right? I wonder what happened to the survivors... Roswell: Hmm. This is just an educated guess...but I’d say the survivors were either captured by the Revolutionary Army, or they’re still hanging around somewhere... Amia: No, the survivors went to Chittagong, then took helicopters to the aircraft carrier. That’s what Saribash said. Roswell: Hm...or that. Lisa: ... Thomas: Heyyy! Take a look at this. It looks like they left us a little parting gift. Since we’re here, we might as well take it. Roswell: Restore, backpack...and a machine gun, eh? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 19 - Rimian Firing Range ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 19 [IN19] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ NOTUN COMILLA: Ash: Looks like this place hasn't changed much. Joyce: We’ve got to contact Saribash. Amia: Is there an agit around here? Ash: Not that I’ve heard of. Sayuri: Cordy, you know about anything? Cordy: All I know about this place is that you can buy wanzer weapons at a pub called "The Turkey". Lisa: Is there an arena in this town? Cordy: Nope. Lisa: Strange then that you could buy weapons in a run-down town like this. Let’s go take a look. (Move to The Turkey Bar) Ignorant Bolkwa: Wanzer weapons? Haven’t a clue. Bored Barclay: There’s no arena around here. Talk about dullsville... Loose Lips Charley: I used to date a person from Diable Avionics. They gave me access to a top-secret forum. But since my work’s got nothing to do with wanzers, I’ll give the password to you. Familiar Jane: Huh? Have we met? Must be my mistake... On Edge Cathy: Since the revolution started, there have been more and more criminals around. It’s making it so I can’t get to sleep at night. (Talk to the Bartender) Bartender: Hey there, what’s your poison? Cordy: I’ll have a Basalt Mostro 24mm with a side of depleted uranium rounds. Bartender: Look, friend... If you’re just window shopping head on home, I’m a busy man... Cordy: I talked to du Roy in Daukandei. You heard of him? Bartender: ... Cordy: Well, I could always pass your name along to the Revolutionary Army. They’re buying info about companies working with the Burg Mafia at... cut throat rates. Bartender: O-Okay, I got it! I’ll sell you your weapons, so just keep it down! Cordy: Where’s the pickup? Bartender: I’ll make the introductions. You do the negotiating yourself. I close up at 7 AM, so that’s when... Cordy: Now. Bartender: What’s that? Cordy: You deaf? Bartender: ...Alright, fine. I’ve got to make some preparations, so hang on a minute. Cordy: Sure. But, don’t think of running now. Sayuri: Hey Cordy, you knew there was a mafia agit here all along! Cordy: Did not. Sayuri: Huh? But, you said... Cordy: Bluffing, an old trick I learned from your boss. Isn’t that right, Lisa? Lisa: Hm? Right. Heh heh...that’s right Bartender: Alright, I’m set. Let’s go... (Move to the Agit) Guard: Halt! Who’s there!? Bartender: I-It’s me!! Guard: Huh, what are you doing here at this time of day? Guard: These people... Pike: We’re a unit under Saribash’s employ. We’d like to report our operations status to Saribash in Bornea. Guard: Huh, so you’re those guys, eh? The boss said you might come by. Whatever ya need, just ask. Pike: We’d like to get our wanzers serviced. And...we’d like a place to rest. Guard: Sure thing. There are some rooms in the back you can rest up in. (Move to the Main Room) Pike: Well then Lisa, what to do? Lisa: Ven is taking FENRIR back to HQ...he said he was headed for Dhaka. Pike: You think we can take down Deean on our own? Lisa: If the O.C.U. responds to Ven’s threats, we’ll lose our chance to destroy FENRIR... On top of that, we’re out of time. There’s a chance FENRIR will fall into their hands too. Pike: "Their"? Lisa: It seems the Revolutionary Army is receiving support from a corporation called Intergehen. If Intergehen is after the FENRIR technology, our problems will go far beyond a scandal for the O.C.U. Pike: Intergehen... The forgotten company, eh... Lisa: What? Pike: Intergehen is the name of a German manufacturer that went bankrupt. Sayuri: Bankrupt? Pike: Intergehen was ruled against in an international court 13 years ago and went bankrupt. They were found guilty of selling technology they licensed from another company outside of the national restrictions in their contract. Lisa: So, just what is this Intergehen that’s supporting Ven? Pike: Who knows? I haven’t got the slightest. Thomas: I managed to get in touch with Saribash. We’ll meet up early tomorrow morning in the capital. He’s planning on taking the capital back from the Revolutionary Army. Sayuri: Tomorrow morning? That means... Thomas: Right! We’ve got today off! Roswell, Rocky, let’s hit the bar! Roswell: Count me out, I’m tired. Rocky: Same here... Thomas: Slackers. Joyce: I’ll come instead. Ash, you come too. Ash: Sure, I’m coming. Amia: What about servicing the wanzers!? Thomas: Oh, I’m sure someone will deal with it, one way or the other. See ya. Amia: Wait...a...second... (Talk to the Head Mechanic in the Underground Warehouse) Head Mechanic: An arena? Yeah, there’s one. But, the one in this town is members only. You can only get in with an invitation from a member. Head Mechanic: Hey, how’s it going? (Leave the Agit and return to the Bar) Bartender: We’re closed for the day. Come back at night. Thomas: Come on pal, just one drink... Joyce: Give it up, Thomas. Thomas: Grmmm... Familiar Jane: So it is you, Ash. I thought so last time I saw you. Well, don’t just stand over there – come here. Thomas: Heh heh, thanks. Don’t mind if I do. Ash: ... (Talk to Familiar Jane) Ash: So...you are? Familiar Jane: It’s been 10 years already so I guess you might not remember... I was your father’s friend. Ash: My father!? Familiar Jane: Yeah, I even used to play with you when you were a kid... Ash: ... Familiar Jane: So, is this your homecoming? Ash: N-no, I’m not going to stick around... Familiar Jane: Right. After your father passed away you moved to Leonora. But since you’re here you might as well go see Maniple, where we used to live. Even though the place is even more run down than in the old days. Ash: ... (Leave the Bar) Thomas: What? Are we leaving already? Joyce: Yeah, you can keep on drinking if you like. Thomas: I’ll take you up on that. Joyce: You really do love the bottle, don’t ya? (Move to Maniple) Ash: ... Joyce: So, this is your hometown? Ash: Yeah... Joyce: You always said you hated this country, eh? Ash: ...What I hate is seeing this country rot...people living in filth develop filthy souls... A country like this... Joyce: ...What about now? Do you still hate this country now? Ash: ... Joyce: You don’t need to answer that…. Ash: ... Joyce: Come on, let’s go. Ash: Yeah... (Return to the Agit) Thomas: Hey! There’s trouble! Ash: What wrong, Thomas? Thomas: We found him...we found Domingo collapsed in the back alley! Domingo: ... Amia: He’s hurt bad. If we don’t get him treatment... Joyce: At any rate, let’s get him inside. (Move to the Main Room) Lisa: What’s going on? Joyce: We’ve got an injured man. I think he’s Thomas’ friend. Sayuri: Lisa! This guy... Pike: An acquaintance of yours? Lisa: He was a consultant for the O.C.U. hostage rescue force. Pike: Why would a man from the rescue force show up just now, injured in a town like this? Lisa: Hm... Amia: Well anyways, let’s get him into a bed! Thomas: Take him to my room! Roswell! Get the med supplies! Amia: His wounds aren’t as bad as I thought. Looks like he’s lost a lot of blood though... He’ll be okay, if he gets rest. Thomas: Whew, glad to hear it. Thanks Amia, for taking care of him. Lisa: I wonder why he got injured? Amia: There were metal fragments stuck in his body. It looks like he was caught in a blast. Pike: The O.C.U. forces were destroyed in the capital two days ago. Amia: If he was hurt then, he wouldn’t be alive now. Lisa: ... Thomas: Hey, Lisa. Is it alright if we let Domingo recover here for a while? Lisa: Yes, that would be fine. But, I still expect you to participate in tomorrow’s operation. Thomas: Sure, you got it. We’ll let him rest here while we’re out doing that. (Return to the Main Room and talk to Lisa) Ash: Not going to sleep? Lisa: Oh, I’m off to bed soon. You should get some rest, too. Ash: I’ll do that. Lisa: Ash? Ash: What is it? Lisa: What do you think of this coup d’etat? Ash: ...What do I think? Lisa: As an Alordeshi, do you support Ven’s actions? Ash: ...I’m fighting Ven. Lisa: That’s how things have ended up. You’ve just been forced into a situation where you can’t avoid fighting. Ash: ... Lisa: I’m sorry. I’m out of line. No sense in pressing the question when I already know what can’t be changed. Ash: Lisa... Lisa: I have to destroy FENRIR. But, I don’t know if I have the right to stop this coup... Ash: I don’t even know why we have countries or nations. Lisa: ... Ash: I’m off to bed. Good night. Lisa: Yeah... (Move to the Underground Warehouse) Rocky: H-Hey, Ash... Ash: Doing some maintenance, Rocky? Rocky: Y-Yeah...since the big push is tomorrow and all... Ash: Ah... Rocky: ...Ash. Ash: W-what’s up? Rocky: W-well...before...what Ven said... Ash: You mean about how I got in the way of the revolution? Rocky: Y-yeah...sorry to ask...but it’s kinda been bugging me... Ash: ... Rocky: If it’s alright, could you tell me what he meant...? Ash: ......sorry......I... Rocky: A-Ah, it’s fine Ash. You don’t have to talk about it. (Return to the Main Room and go to Lisa’s Room) Cordy: Sayuri’s sleeping. Should you get some rest too? (Go to Thomas’ Room) Roswell: Hmm, Domingo is still lights out, and the boss is snoring away too. (Go to Pike’s Room) Pike: I still haven’t slept. If you want to talk, let’s do it later. (Go to Ash’s Room) Joyce: Seems Griff is still sleeping. Let’s hit the hay too. (Choose to sleep) ...Hey, Ash! Get up... Ash: Ngh...? Thomas...what is it? Thomas: Domingo’s gone! You know anything about what happened? Ash: No, I was asleep... Thomas: I see... Ash: Did you ask everyone else? Thomas: No, not yet. Ash: Well, let’s go ask them then. (Return to the Main Room and go to Lisa’s Room) Lisa: What’s the matter? Thomas: Domingo’s gone. Lisa: I don’t know anything. Sorry, but can you let me get back to sleep? (Go to Thomas’ Room) Thomas: He’s not here either... (Go to Pike’s Room) Maylan: Domingo? I haven’t got a clue. (Return to the Main Room) Joyce: We’ve looked everywhere. Thomas: Yeah, where could he have gone? Especially in the state he was in... Amia: His injuries weren’t too serious. He was bleeding, but they weren’t life threatening. But, why would he leave without saying anything to Thomas? Lisa: Everyone, let’s gather up in warehouse. It’s about time we get ready to move out. Thomas: But, Domingo... Lisa: We’re not supposed to be looking for him, and we don’t have the time. Hurry up and get down to the warehouse. (Move to the Underground Warehouse) Lisa: It seems Saribash is going to try and take back the capital. There’s no doubt this will come to blood, so make sure you are all good and ready. Cordy: Aren’t they just going to send bombers at us from Deean again? Roswell: Hm, it’s possible. But in that last battle, the capital was under O.C.U. control. Now that it’s the Revolutionary Army HQ, it seems less likely they’ll be able to bomb it so carelessly. Thomas: Do you have the enemy forces' strength data? Sayuri: Yep. I’ve forwarded the password to you. (Return to the Bar after Domingo recovers) Bartender: Welcome...oh, it’s you again. Loose Lips Charley: Don’t tell anyone about that secret computer password. Familiar Jane: You were so cute as a kid. Seeing you all grown up like this, it’s quite a difference (Return to the Bar after the assembly in the Underground Warehouse) Bartender: What is it? You back again? Aren’t you done with your business here? Cordy: We’re just here as customers today. Bartender: Huh, is that so? Cordy: This is a pretty boring town, isn’t it? Bartender: You ever thought about becoming a fighter in the arena? You’re pretty strong. I think you could clean up. Cordy: There’s an arena in this city!? Bartender: Shhh! Keep your voice down! Yeah, there’s an arena. But the membership is very selective, so I’m not supposed to talk about it much. But for you, I’ll make an exception. Cordy: A secret arena, eh? There must be a lot of top fighters there...I’m down. Bartender: Follow me. (Move to the Arena) Bartender: Alright, we’re here – the only arena in town. Cordy: Just one thing, why did you decide to let a stranger like me in on this? Bartender: Your eyes. Cordy: My eyes? Bartender: Those are the eyes of a veteran. Strong ones too. An arena needs strong warriors. That’s why I invite people like you. Yeah, here... Take this. It’s a Dawn Star weapon. Use it well, and keep this place a secret. See ya later. Sharp Joker: This place is kept secret from strangers. Poor Man Woody: Hey heyyy, I didn’t think I’d blow all that cash. My whole month’s salary’s gone. Hotshot Henry: The rates here are higher than other arenas, but so is the skill level. Tough Linda: Battle is all about your "ki-ai." Your "ki-ai." K.i.a.i. (Upon leaving the area) Lisa: Time to leave, Thomas? (Select YES) Thomas: Yeah. It’s a good time to meet up with Saribash and his boys. Let’s move out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 20 - Central Dhaka ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 20 [IN20] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DHAKA: June 21, 2102 - 4:00 PM Saribash: Lila...sob...why...Lila’s... Thomas: How was it, Griff? Griff: No good... Lila’s wanzer was completely immolated...I couldn’t find the body... Thomas: Ah...Dammit! I don’t know who was behind this, but I’ll make him pay!! Griff: Anyhow, there’s nothing we can say to Saribash. Let’s give him some space... Ash: Yeah... (Go to Lisa’s Room) Lisa: FENRIR wouldn’t be here, would it? Pike: Looks like they moved it in the day we wasted in Notun Comilla. Lisa: If that’s the case, what about the Deean Air Force Base... Griff: H-hey you guys... What the hell are you doing planning at a time like this! Pike: Griff... Lisa: ...What happened to Lila is a pity...but... Griff: A PITY!? Do you have any idea how Saribash must feel!? His daughter was killed right in front of his own eyes!! But you guys are just sitting here planning!? Lisa: Griff!! Griff: What!? If you’ve got something to say, then say it!! Lisa: If we stop our search for FENRIR now, there will be even more victims... Not just Lila, so many more... Griff: So, that’s why... Lisa: You might think I’m cold-blooded...but I... Pike: Ash... Sorry, but can you get Griff out of here? Ash: Yeah... Come on Griff, let’s go... (Go to Maylan’s Room) Maylan: What is it? Ash: Oh, it’s nothing in particular but... Maylan: Ash...Did I just end up abandoning the Lieutenant Colonel in the end...? Ash: ... (Go to Amia’s Room) Amia: Ah, Ash... What is it? Ash: It’s nothing, just came to check in on you. Amia: ...I...always thought... Ash: What? Amia: The people of this country, they’ve all got something to protect... Family, lovers, the state... But, I have nothing to protect other than my own life... But even so, here I am fighting in this country... Ash: That’s...my fault... Amia: No, it’s not. What I can’t figure out, is why I like fighting here for some reason...I know I’m fighting to protect something important now. But, I still don’t know what that something is... Ash: ... (Go to Joyce’s Room) Ash: So, this is where you’ve been. Joyce: ............ Ash: ............ Joyce: ...Ash? Ash: What is it, Joyce? Joyce: Do you think he...Do you think Ven is still alive, or do you think he was burned to death... Along with Lila... Ash: ............ (Move to Equipment Room) Roswell: So Rocky, that’s why I...think we oughta pull out of here. Rocky: You mean abandon this country, turn tail and run...? Roswell: Run... Isn’t it clear it’s just a matter of time before we come up against something we can’t handle...? Ash: What are you talking about? Rocky: A-Ah, Ash... Roswell was talking about leaving the country... Roswell: It’s obvious this coup never had anything to do with us to begin with. Are we just going to let ourselves get dragged further into it? Rocky: But after all this, to just pretend we never had anything to do with it...Ash, what do you think...? Ash: I...don’t know...I really don’t know what I should do... Rocky: ... (Talk to the Mechanic) Mechanic: This is the password for the Taureau Corporation from E.C. France’s website. The data was in a computer the Revolutionary Army left behind... (Return to Temporary HQ) Thomas: Lisa! Come on!! Saribash is in no state to be dealing with that kind of thing! Ash: What is it? Pike: It looks like Saribash is going to give up on destroying the Revolutionary Army. Ash: ... Saribash: ...I’m throwing in the towel. Let the O.C.U. and Revolutionary Army have their war. Lisa: No, the war between the O.C.U. and the Revolutionary Army is about to come to an end. If the Revolutionary Army threatens the O.C.U. with FENRIR, this country will be taken over by a military junta. Are you just going to let that slide!? Even though you sacrificed so much to stop it!? Saribash: ...what do you want from me...? Lisa: Right now, you’re the only one who can stop the Revolutionary Army. I need your help. Saribash: So, if we get FENRIR back you’ll leave me alone!? Guard: Boss, we’ve got trouble! Ven has shown up at the Deean Air Force Base! Saribash: WHAT!? Griff: Ven... Saribash: Arrrghhhh! Thomas: Hey! Saribash! Where are you going!? Lisa: Let’s follow him! (Move to the Equipment Room) Rocky: Saribash! Come on! Stop! Saribash: Shut up! Get out of my fucking way! If you don’t move, I’ll run you over with this wanzer! Thomas: He’s here! Lisa: What’s this!? Roswell: S-Saribash is dead-set on attacking Deean! Saribash: I’ll murder Ven! Don’t try and stop me! Ash: Stop! What are you going to do on your own? Saribash: Destroying the Revolutionary Army! Isn’t that just what you wanted, Lisa!? I didn’t hear any complaints back then! Lisa: That’s right! But, you need a strategy to fight! Just dying... Saribash: I don’t give a damn if I die! Sayuri: You idiot!! Saribash: !! Lisa: ...! Sayuri: If you died, it would just make Lila even more sad!! If... If you don’t even understand that much, then I hope Ven kills you right away!! Good riddance!! Saribash: ............ Sayuri: Y...You’re such a huge moron...sob...it’s because of idiots like you...sob...sob... Saribash: ............ Lisa: I hope you can understand what Sayuri is trying to say, Saribash. Saribash: ...yeah. Lisa: Let’s calm down and have a nice, rational, conversation in the HQ. Come on Sayuri, don’t cry. Get everyone together for the meeting. Sayuri: ...yeah... Cordy: I’ll help her out. Lisa: Thanks...Come on Saribash, let’s go. (Move to the Temporary HQ) Thomas: You calmed down yet, Saribash? Saribash: Yeah...sorry about that. Griff: But, can we really take on the Revolutionary Army by ourselves? Cordy: The Revolutionary Army is collecting all the firepower from Rimian and other O.C.U. bases at Deean. If we can just beat them there, then victory will be in sight. Roswell: But... The Revolutionary Army is also getting plenty of supplies from Intergehen, right? If we don’t have the right firepower, then this fight will be hopeless. Maylan: We’ll have to cut their supply lines. Amia: Supply lines? Maylan: Intergehen is getting supplies to the Revolutionary Army through tributaries of the Brahmaputra River. If we can cut that supply line, then the Revolutionary Army’s fighting strength will be limited. Rocky: Why aren’t they just delivering straight to Deean...? Maylan: Intergehen likes to keep all their operations covert. They even transport their goods in camouflaged freighters. Pike: When’s the next shipment? Maylan: Judging from the Revolutionary Army’s current state of affairs, I’d say within the next couple of days. Thomas: A stakeout, eh... Lisa: Let’s go. Maylan, do you know what kind of escort they’ll have? Maylan: I have a password for accessing that data. If they haven’t changed it, I should be able to find out. Saribash: I’m going too. Maylan: Forget it. If you leave Dhaka, the Lieutenant Colonel will definitely retake it. Sayuri: That means you should stay here and keep watch. Saribash: ... (Leave the Temporary HQ) Joyce: Ash! Ash: ...Joyce Joyce: What were you thinking? Trying to leave me behind like that. Ash: Ah, sorry...you okay? Joyce: ...Yeah, I’m fine. Ash: Alright then. Joyce: By the way, where are Thomas and Roswell, and Rocky too? Sayuri: Thomas is with Saribash. The other two...come to think of it, I haven’t seen them. (Return to Equipment Room) Sayuri: Hey, you guys, we’ve got a bit of a job to do. You mind coming along? Roswell: Is Thomas coming too? Sayuri: No, he said he’s sitting it out. Roswell: Well, even when the request if coming from you, Miss Sayuri, if the boss isn’t going, I’m not either. Sayuri: I’m not requesting. Lisa: What about you, Rocky? Rocky: Is Ash going...? Ash: Yeah. Rocky: Well, I’ll go too then...I’d like to be as strong as you... Ash: ...? Rocky: Oh, it’s nothing... (Move to the Shop) Rick’s Dad Dan: Welcome... Dan’s Son Rick: Welcome! Hey you guys, you should buy some of the weapons I made! Griff: What’s with this kid? Rick’s Dad Dan: Gr, Rick! I thought I told you to stop! Ah, don’t mind him, he always gets in the way of business. Dan’s Son Rick: Dammit Dad, you’re the one who’s always getting in my way!! Rick’s Dad Dan: Wha- Rick, where are you going!? Dan’s Son Rick: Shut up, Dad!! Griff: Hey hey, what the hell is this all about? Rick’s Dad Dan: My apologies, sir. That’s my son, Rick. Griff: Didn’t he say something about buying weapons? Rick’s Dad Dan: Well, y’see he makes wanzer weapons and parts himself. They’re nothing special, of course. Griff: ... Ash: Where ya going, Griff? Griff: Kids his age have all kinds of problems. I’m gonna go talk to him. (Talk to Ash) Ash: You gonna leave that kid alone? (Select NO) Griff: Nah, he’s somewhere around here...I’m gonna keep looking. Ash: Sure... (Leave the Temporary HQ) Griff: ...Oh? So, this is where you were. Hey kid, you said you make weapons? Dan’s Son Rick: I’m no kid! Call me Rick! Griff: Listen, Rick, you can’t get in the way of your father’s business. The adult world is... Dan’s Son Rick: Shut up! Don’t treat me like an idiot just ‘cause I’m a kid! I can make some good weapons, but Dad won’t even take a look at them. He thinks I can’t make anything good just because I’m a kid. I wanna have my own store someday. I need to make a really great weapon so my Dad will recognize my skills... That’s...why... Griff: Rick, you really do respect your Dad, huh... Dan’s Son Rick: Yeah...but there’s no way I can make a real weapon with my allowance. The weapon I tried to sell you was just a toy. But I can make a real one! Look! I’ve got the plans and everything! Griff: Whoa, you drew these up? ...Pretty impressive. Dan’s Son Rick: But, I’ve got no cash and...my Dad won’t pay any attention to me... Griff: Alright, I guess I’ll just have to give you the money then! Dan’s Son Rick: Really!? Griff: But, don’t tell your dad. (Give Rick 1,000) Dan’s Son Rick: Thanks! Once I’m done, you’ll be the first to get one! Griff: Man, I’m really soft on kids... Even other people’s kids. What’s a man to do... (Return to the Equipment Room) Ash: So how’d it go, Griff? Griff: Oh, good. Rick’s Dad Dan: My apologies again, sir, for your trouble. Griff: Oh, it’s no problem. (Move to the Eldred Bar) Bartender: We’ve had a lot of unemployed people in here lately. You got any good news to break up the gloomy atmosphere? Authoritative Davis: So, the Revolutionary Army has been driven out of the capital then. Loser Bill: "I finally found a job!" were my happy thoughts for a while. But this time, the office got blown up. Sigh... Miriam the Mom: My husband went to work in the Middle East 3 years ago. But, because of the civil war, he’s had a hard time getting back home. Smitten Tracy: The Revolutionary Army lost? It must be because the great Lieutenant Colonel Mackarge wasn’t in the fight. No doubt about it! (Move to the Arena) Spectator Scott: Whooooo! That’s it! Get ‘im!! Beef Butcher Mack: Pft! Is that guy eating his beef!? He’s so damn weak. Average Jules: The government and police have already lost all their power. Without those, you can’t really call this city a capital, can ya? Man Hunting Kate: The Revolutionary Army lost? Well, I’m not interested in Revolutionary Army officers anymore, then. (Upon leaving the area) Sayuri: Everyone read to go? (Select YES) Sayuri: Understood. Well then, let’s depart. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 21 - Brahmaputra River ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 21 [IN21] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DHAKA: June 22, 2102 - 3:00 AM (Move to the Bar) Peeping Tom: I hacked into a surveillance satellite today. There was this weird unit data on there. I’ll give it to ya for 500. Buy it for 500? (Select YES) Hm, so I can sell this kinda stuff after all. Well, I’m sure guys like you can make good use of it. (Move to the Temporary HQ) Saribash: So, you weren’t able to cut the supply line after all? Lisa: The enemy was using transport aircraft. Burg Transportation doesn’t have any way of touching them. Thomas: No shit. Maylan: But since we hit their transport, Intergehen is bound to stop their supply drops for a while. Cordy: You’re saying now’s our chance? Griff: But, Deean is fucking huge. How are we going to manage to take it? Roswell: What if we were to create confusion among our enemies? Thomas: You got any good suggestions? Roswell: As a matter of fact I doooo. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SPECIAL EVENT 13 - Roswell's Plan ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DHAKA: (Temporary HQ) Thomas: I gotcha. We do Roswell’s plan and we’ll be fine. Gwahahaha! Lisa: What do you mean "fine"... They’ve got fighter jets stationed on base, radar, and AA guns too... Thomas: But they’d never expect a single transport to attack them, right? And if we come in at low altitude, we’ll have a high chance of success. Saribash: But, I don’t have any transport planes. Joyce: We can use that plane, and our friend, the pilot. Amia: Wha- Wait a second! You don’t mean... Joyce: The transport plane we stole from the aircraft carrier should still be on the coast. All it needs is some fuel and I think it could fly. Maylan: And the pilot? Joyce: Oh, here she is... Amia: Wait a minute! I’m not the kind of pilot who could pull off a low altitude assault! That kind of acrobatics is beyond me!! Joyce: You have the fuel, Saribash? Saribash: Yeah, I’ve got some. Thomas: Well, it’s settled then. Take a nap, get ready, and we’re good to go! Amia: Waitttt... Listen to meee... Roswell: It’ll be fine. The Marines have solid planes. It’s not like it’ll fall apart in the air or anything. Amia: That’s not what I’m worried about!! (Move to the Equipment Room) Dan's Son Rick: Sorry...I couldn’t make anything with the money you gave me... I’ll do better next time! Dan's Son Rick: Oh, it’s you? (Give Rick 2,000) Dan's Son Rick: Just wait a bit longer. I’ll have a weapon ready soon... (Upon leaving the area) Thomas: Well, shall we leave then!? Ash: How long do you think it’ll take? Rocky: Getting there...fuelling up...coming back...over half a day, I’d say... Lisa: Everyone ready? (Select YES) Saribash: Are you sure you don’t want me to come? Thomas: You’ve got to protect the city. Alright!? We’re not messing around here! Saribash: Yeah...I got it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 22 - Alordesh Coast ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 22 [IN22] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DHAKA: June 22, 2102 - 7:00 PM (Move to the Temporary HQ) Saribash: You’re late. What happened? Lisa: Yeah, this is a bit... Thomas: Has the Revolutionary Army been moving at all? Saribash: Not recently. According to my scouts at Deean, they’re focused on shoring up their defenses. Ash: Do they know about our attack plans? Saribash: I don’t think so. They haven’t been taking any extra precautions. Pike: We should assault Deean as soon as we can. Thomas, are you ready to carry out the operation? Thomas: You betcha! Roswell: Er, I’m the one who came up with this plan. Thomas: Shut up, Roswell. Sayuri: Let’s get started. Thomas: Alright, we’ll break up into 3 units. Amia’s unit will assault the base via transport aircraft. Next, me and Saribash’s units will attack the front gate. Once he’s confirmed we’ve broken through the front gate, Ash’s unit will assault the eastern warehouse area, securing FENRIR and General Gwianda. (After forming up the three units) Thomas: Ash’s unit and my unit will depart for Deean at 2 AM. The operation will be carried out at 6 AM! Ash! Ash: What? Thomas: As of now, you will be taking command of this operation. Ash: Me!? Thomas: You’re the leader of the final assault group. It makes sense. Ash: But, I... Thomas: Ash, if our assaults fail, you take the survivors and withdraw. You got that? Ash: ...I got it. Thomas: Saribash! Do you have the enemy forces' strength data? Saribash: Yeah, I’ve got the password too. There’s data for the bomber hangar and the command tower. Thomas: Alright! This concludes the strategy meeting! Everyone, get ready for battle! (Leave the Conference Room) Rocky: Ash. Ash: What’s up, Rocky? Rocky: Could you come to the equipment room later...alone? Ash: Sure, but what’s this about? Rocky: I’ll tell you when you get there... (Move to the Equipment Room) Rocky: So, you came...Ash... Ash: Yeah, so what’s this about? Rocky: Listen to me, Ash!! Ash: Eh? What is it? Rocky: You... You’ve got a past that’s too awful to talk about, even to us... But even so you’re the kind of man who is kind to everyone you meet... Looking at a man like you, I... Ash: H-hang on Rocky. What... Rocky: I understand how you feel... I doubt you’ll share my feelings... But, surviving tomorrow’s battle will be tougher than anything we’ve been through before... That’s why before I die I want to let you know how I feel... Ash: Rocky... Rocky: You don’t need to say anything, Ash... (Talk to Dan’s Son Rick) Dan’s Son Rick: Sorry...I couldn’t make anything with the money you gave me...I’ll do better next time! Dan’s Son Rick: Oh, it’s you? (Give Rick 2,500) Dan's Son Rick: Just wait a bit longer. I’ll have a weapon ready soon... (Go to Lisa’s Room) Lisa: Ah, it’s you Ash. Leaving already? Ash: N-nah, not yet... Sayuri: ...You nervous? Ash: N-no, it’s not that. Lisa: Ash, I’ll give you a tip. They say that a commander always has to maintain his cool, but honestly, that’s a lie. Ash: A lie? Lisa: Yeah! Take a look at Thomas. Always spouting his lousy jokes!! Ash: ... Lisa: But, when it comes to tactical operations he’s more reliable than anyone else. Am I right? Ash: Yeah... For sure. Lisa: Or take me. When I’m about to go into battle, my legs start shaking. Since I’m in a wanzer no one can see it, but they do. Sayuri: Whoa! I never knew!! Cordy: Mine shake too. Sayuri: No way!! Lisa: Haha... So listen Ash, even though you’re nervous right now, you might have the makings of a great commander. Ash: Thanks Lisa, I feel a bit better now. Lisa: Glad I could help. (Go to Maylan’s Room) Ash: Maylan. Maylan: What’s up, Ash? Ash: What do you think Ven is doing now? Maylan: What are you getting at? Ash: Which do you think is right? What Ven is doing, or what we’re doing? Maylan: Each of us is a bit right and a bit wrong. That’s how I see it. People who can’t accept that, they have a hard time carrying on living... (Move to Amia’s Room) Ash: Amia. Amia: Oh, Ash. I’m ready for this! Ash: Amia... Amia: It’s okay. I’m still a bit scared but... But since we’ve survived coming this far, I’m sure it’ll be fine. So you hold up the command end and I’ll hold up the other! Ash: Yeah. (Move to Joyce’s Room) Joyce: Yooo! Mr. Commander, sir. Ash: Cut it out, Joyce. Joyce: Hahaha, I’m glad for ya. It’s a rare event! Ash: ...Joyce, do you think that Ven is really out there at Deean? Joyce: ...if he’s not, I’ll be in trouble. Since I’m the one who’s gonna kill him. Ash: Joyce... Joyce: Even if he is being used by Intergehen, he still started all this. He’s the one who bears responsibility... Ash: ... (Leave the Temporary HQ after going to everyone's rooms) Master Mailman Malone: ...excuse me, but would you happen to be Mr. Rocky? Rocky: ...Yeah, why? Master Mailman Malone: Oh, thank God. I finally found you. A letter for Mr. Rocky, right here. Rocky: A letter for me? Master Mailman Malone: Yes, that’s right. Whew, that’s all my deliveries for the day. Now to relax with a cold one at the bar... See you around. Roswell: Who’s the letter from? Rocky: From Gleny. Thomas: Gleny, eh? I seem to remember...that being one of your old pals, right Rocky? Roswell: A pal of Rocky’s and mine, too. Rocky: Yeah. Last I heard, he had devoted himself to clearing landmines. Sayuri: So this Gleny friend of yours, he was from the O.C.U. too? What kind of person was he? Rocky: He was a landmine specialist. Unmatched. But, he decided to leave the O.C.U. back then. Sayuri: Why would a specialist...? Rocky: His landmines, they killed a lot of civilians... Thomas: So, Gleny decided to take responsibility for his actions and resign... Rocky: Yeah, he always had a strong sense of justice. Roswell: So, what does the letter say? Gleny’s Letter: "...How’s it going, Rocky? I’m muddling along here...If I could, I’d like to see you one more time..." Thomas: Sounds like your typical letter from an old friend. Rocky: This last line... "If I could, I’d like to see you one more time" Sounds like he’s caught up...in something... Sayuri: So he’s saying he’d like to see you again, but he can’t... Rocky: Gleny... What did you get yourself into......? (Move to the Bar) Peeping Tom: Hack into a lot of databases and systems, and you’ll make a lot of discoveries. This time around, I got the address and password of the Naxos Corporation site. This one is definitely worth it. How about it, for 500? (Choose YES) Cheers. Hi-ho, back to work I go. (Talk to Master Mailman Malone) Rocky: I’ve got a question for you. Where was this letter sent from? Master Mailman Malone: Hmmm, it was...from the temporary military hospital if I remember correctly. Rocky: A hospital... Thomas: So, something happened to Gleny? Roswell: Makes me worried. Let’s go check it out. Rocky: Is it okay guys, for my sake? Thomas: Introduce your old friend to your new ones. I don’t mind. (Move to the Temporary Military Hospital) Thomas: Whoa, didn’t know they had these kind of facilities. Roswell: There sure are a lot of wounded. How are we supposed to find Gleny among all these people? Rocky: It’s been 7 years, but if I just get a glance, I’ll know him. Injured Soldier Ricks: Uh...ugh...sob...Mother...sob... Injured Soldier Bart: Gleny? ...Hm, there was a new guy brought in here recently... I’m almost certain he was called Gleny... Isn’t he over in that bed there? Injured Soldier Chuck: Thanks to the Revolutionary Army’s bombing, the city’s hospitals were destroyed. This is a temporary one. Gleny: Rocky... Rocky: ...! You’re...Gleny? Sayuri: How...horrible... Gleny: ...It’s been a while, Rocky. Rocky: Gleny...your legs...? Gleny: Yeah... That’s thanks to a screw-up of mine while clearing land mines. Rocky: A specialist, like you, screwed up? Gleny: I wasn’t paying attention. But, I’m just lucky to be alive, right? There’s something I’ve still got to do...I can’t kick the bucket here. Rocky: ...Something you still have to do... I can’t believe that you’d screw up your job. What happened? Gleny: ...Oh it was nothing in particular. Well, let down your guard and this is what happens. I’m just glad...I could see ya. Rocky: Yeah, me too...take care, man. Gleny: Yeah, I’ll send ya another letter. (Leave the Temporary Military Hospital) Thomas: Well, should we get going then... What is it, Rocky? Rocky: He’s definitely caught up in something...for him to make a mistake like that...and to have something he still has to do...? Sayuri: ...his legs... Rocky: Yeah...for him to have lost both legs... Anyhow, let’s go. If we get the chance, we’ll come back here. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SPECIAL EVENT 14 - A Risky Flight ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 23 - O.C.U. Deean Air Force Base ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 23 [IN23] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ O.C.U. DEEAN AIR FORCE BASE: (Command Room) Gwianda: So, we’ve lost? Ven: ...Yes. Gwianda: Let’s make for the main Intergehen base. Prepare the helicopter. Ven: You still intend to carry on with this!? The revolution has failed! Henschel: To end things now would be meaningless, Ven. Gwianda: It’s just as Mr. Henschel says. We still have FENRIR. Ven: FENRIR!! You fool! You won’t stop at burning the capital with your bombers, but now go so far as to use that disgusting device!? Gwianda: It is all for the Motherland. Ven: No!! All that will accomplish is burning this country to the ground. Gwianda: If this country is destroyed, we will simply capture another. Such is the power of FENRIR. Ven: ...!! Gwianda: Prepare the helicopter!! Ven! Ven: ...Yes, sir. Gwianda: Come with me. Henschel: No, I have a separate means of escape. Let us meet again later, General. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ O.C.U. DEEAN AIR FORCE BASE OUTSKIRTS: Ash: We’ve received the signal from Thomas’ unit! We’re up, people! Ash: Is everyone ready for the assault? (Select YES) Ash: Let’s go. Everyone, follow me! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 24 - O.C.U. Deean Air Force Base ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 24 [IN24] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ O.C.U. DEEAN AIR FORCE BASE June 23, 2102 - 2:00 PM (Command Room) Sayuri: Lisa! Lisa: How’d it go? Cordy: We didn't have much luck. There's barely anything left from the wreckage. Sayuri: But, from some of the wreckage we can confirm that FENRIR was destroyed. Lisa: ......I see...... Joyce: Was Ven the one who wrecked FENRIR? Maylan: It seems that way. The Lieutenant Colonel was finally able to see that the revolution had come to differ from his ideals. Griff: So, that’s why he offed General Gwianda... Amia: But, Ven was able to escape. He left with a company of Revolutionary Army troops. Joyce: Is that guy still gonna keep on fighting...? Ash: He doesn’t stand a chance at winning with just one company. We’ve got a chance at convincing him to back down. Thomas: Alright, back to work then! Saribash: No, I want all of you to leave the country now. Ash: Saribash! Saribash: From here on in, this is a personal matter between me and Ven. Griff: Hey now, are you sure about this? Saribash: ...whatever your reasons were, I appreciate all the help you’ve given me up to here...but...but, when I look at your faces...Lila... I can’t help but remember her...and it’s too hard. Griff: ... Saribash: Please... Thomas: ...alright Saribash, I got it. Saribash: ...I’m sorry... Lisa: I’ll contact the aircraft carrier from here. We’ll have them come pick us up from Bornea. Would you mind letting us use the underground railway from the capital to Bornea? Saribash: Sure. Lisa: I’ll make the call. Since we’ll probably be leaving tomorrow, everyone can take it easy for the rest of today. (Move to the Hangar) Amia: Look, Saribash is pricing all these stored Revolutionary Army weapons for sale! Saribash: Of course I am! I need the money for rebuilding the country after all! (Shop Dialog) Mechanic: Heh heh, hey there. The weapons you guys got in the last fight are here. Hmm...now where were they...ah, here they are. An SN-120P Shield...a Restore ALL...annnd...three Repair ALLs...yep, that’s it. (Talk to Mechanic) Mechanic: Just what I’d expect from an Air Force base. They’ve got the password and address for Tel Aviv Aerospace. Mechanic: Well, everything here technically belongs to the O.C.U. Air Force, but we’re just going to be borrowing it from them until they get back on their feet. Not that we got their permission to do that. (Choose to rest) June 23, 2102 - 11:00 PM (Lisa’s Room) Cordy: You seem a bit down Lisa, even though you got just what you wanted and FENRIR has been wiped off the face of the earth. Lisa: ...The O.C.U. isn’t going to leave this country alone. Cordy: Yeah, you’re right. They’ll force the country to accept its dependant status more than ever. Lisa: All we might have accomplished is ensuring that this country becomes even more impoverished than before. Have I just been a pawn...forcing the O.C.U. ideology that all problems will be solved through the unification of mankind on these people? Sayuri: Lisa... Lisa: What a joke! To think that up until today, I was worried about what the enemy would do this country’s future...I’m just not cut out for the intelligence business... Cordy: That might be true. Sayuri: How can you say that, Cordy!? Cordy: But, you’re a better human being for it, Lisa. If you didn’t feel anything after what has happened I’d hate you. In fact, I’d probably want to kill you. Lisa: ... Cordy: You’re really a kind woman. Sayuri: Maybe I’ve been a bit cold about all this. Lisa: No, I don’t think so. Those tears you cried in front of Saribash were real. Sayuri: Thanks, Lisa. (Thomas’ Room) Roswell: Boss, do we really gotta leave this country? Rocky: Didn’t you want to leave...? Roswell: Nah, well...it's just, it's just leaving like this...ahh, isn't it kind of a shame...eh, boss? Thomas: What's this "eh, boss?" huh? Shut up and get to bed! Rocky: I understand how Roswell feels...Thomas, isn’t there anything we can do...? Thomas: Like what!? ...Look, it's not like I want to leave like this either. But if Saribash doesn’t want us here, then what the hell am I supposed to do!? Roswell: But, well... Thomas: Shut it! I’ve had enough of this shit! I’m going to bed. Rocky: ... (Hangar) Joyce: What are you doing here? Amia: Just take a look in front of you. I’m working on my machine. Joyce: But, we’re not fighting any more battles, are we? Amia: I know. But, she was the only thing that kept me alive back there. I feel like I at least owe her a tune up. Joyce: Hm, I see, I see. Amia: ... Joyce: What, are you angry or something? Amia: Joyce, do you still remember about Lila? Joyce: What’s this all of a sudden? Amia: I know that this is eating you up, Joyce. It’s not just me - I think everyone else knows too. Joyce: Tomorrow...tomorrow...I’m going to leave this country and wipe the slate clean. I’m going to forget all this ever happened. Amia: Joyce... (Command Room) Maylan: I bear responsibility for this coup d’etat. Please let me stay here and fight. Saribash: Sure, it’s your choice. But, be certain about it. From here on in, the O.C.U. will be coming in droves. Maylan: I understand. Ash: Saribash. Saribash: Ah, Ash. Ash: I’m an Alordeshi too. You still won’t let me stay? Saribash: No way. Ash: Why!? Saribash: You have somewhere to go home to. Ash: ... Saribash: Things in this country are only going to get worse from here on in...I don’t want to see you suffer the same way Ven did. Ash: ... (Move to the Arena) Spectator Scott: If I had to choose, I’d say I like team battles better. Yeah, team battles are solid. Beef Butcher Mack: Th-that guy is so weak. He must be eating port, no doubt about it. Eat some beef! Beef dammit!! Average Jules: How long will the good days last? Man Hunting Kate: It’d be best to marry an arena fighter, for sure. They’re loaded after all. (Move to the Bar) Sayuri: It looks like that man isn't here. (A man in a suit approaches Lisa) Man: You're Lisa, right? Lisa: And you are? Man: I was sent here by the man you were supposed to meet. Please follow me. I'll bring you to meet him. Lisa: If he's not coming here, then we have nothing left to discuss. Man: I see... (The man in the suit leaves the Bar) Bartender: The unemployment rate this year is almost double what it was last year. What are my customers going to do? Authoritative Davis: So, the Revolutionary Army leader Ven issued a statement saying the revolution has failed, eh? Loser Bill: Sigh... Someone give me some work...I’m hungry. But before you do that, someone pay my tab here will ya? Miriam the Mom: It looks like they’re going to cut off my temporary housing. I really don’t want to live in the same space as strangers. Smitten Tracy: I’m sure Ven still has something he can do for us. I really believe that. (Attempt to leave the Bar) Man: Lisa! Lisa: You! Man: S-sorry, he was in the bar so... Lisa: Who's "he"? Who are you for that matter? Man: Hurry, come this way! He's noticed us! (Move to the Arena) Sayuri: No one's here. Man: The arena is closed for maintenance at this hour. See you around. Rocky: ............ Roswell: What is it this time? Thomas: Rocky, read it to us. Rocky: Sure... Gleny's Letter: "By the time you have received this letter, I will already have departed from this world. However, don't be sad. Every man who clears mines knows that someday his time will come. I feel like this somehow counts for atonement to all the people who were killed by my mines. So please, don't be sad. ...do you remember the man named Crow we court-marshaled and put in jail? That mercenary who deployed mines near cities and killed so many civilians. Since then, Crow has escaped from prison. I chased him down...but in the end, he did this to me. I couldn't beat Crow's mines. Now that I think about it, he must have shown himself just to lure me into this trap. Crow still bears a grudge against us. He's hanging around the outskirts of the capital. Don't pursue him. I should know. I'm the battle specialist, after all... P.S. I miss those days we spent together. That was the best time of my life. If only I could return to them, I would..." Thomas: ...he's dead...? Rocky: ...sob...sob...Gleny... Sayuri: He certainly was...in terrible shape back there... Roswell: ...Rocky... Rocky: ...would you leave me alone for a while? Ash: Yeah...we'll be at the agit... Rocky: .........sniff...sob...Gleny.........Crow...that bastard... Rocky: Just give me a while longer to calm down. Ash: Rocky...Don’t go and do something stupid. (Upon leaving the area) Rocky: Gleny...I will avenge you... Thomas: Hey, hey, where are you going off on your own? Roswell: What are you doing running off without telling us? That's cold, man. Rocky: You two...what are you...? Thomas: Hey now, we're best friends. Your vengeance is our vengeance. Roswell: Yeah, us three will take this Crow guy down. Rocky: ...alright, let's go... You both ready? Thomas: You really just don’t want to see us go. Am I right? Saribash: No way. I can’t wait until I don’t have to look at your face anymore. Thomas: Ahh, is that so. Well, well alright then. Is everyone ready to go? Thomas: Let’s head for Bornea. (Select YES) Saribash: Alright, we’re off. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 25 - Underground Railroad ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 25 [IN25] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DHAKA: June 24, 2102 - 1:00 PM (Move to the Temporary HQ) Thomas: It looks like Ven is still at it. Is there any way we can talk him out of it? Saribash: I doubt we could until the very last of his fighting strength was gone. Joyce: Well then, I guess we’ll have to take him out. Griff: What are you talking about? Joyce: Our last job. We know where Ven is, so we ought to completely destroy his forces. Sayuri: But since we let that commander go, won’t Ven have already left that place? Pike: Or he could be waiting for us there. We can only go and find out. Rocky: You know the place on the map...? Saribash: Yeah... Of course I do. Thomas: Well if we’re going to do this, we should hurry. Lisa, it looks like our return home is going to be a bit delayed. Is that okay? Lisa: Sure. I wanted to talk to Ven one more time anyhow, so it works just fine. (Move to the Equipment Room) Dan’s Son Rick: Hey you guys! This time I... Rick’s Dad Dan: Rick!! What have you been up to! Where did you get the money to make something like that!? Dan’s Son Rick: Er... Griff: ...sorry, sir. But it was me... Rick’s Dad Dan: Rick!! How can you just take money from strangers like that! Griff: No, you’ve got it wrong...Rick... Dan’s Son Rick: Father! In the future I want to be a store owner like you! I want to make my own weapons and parts for sale! Rick’s Dad Dan: Well then, if you worked for me... Dan’s Son Rick: If I always work under you, I’ll never surpass you! Rick’s Dad Dan: Rick... Griff: I’m sorry sir, but sometimes you should pay attention to your son’s accomplishments. Rick has made some pretty amazing weapons. He just wanted your recognition. That’s why he worked so hard. Rick’s Dad Dan: Rick...I’m sorry... Dan’s Son Rick: ...It’s okay, Dad. Forget about that and take a look at this weapon! Rick’s Dad Dan: ......yeah, this is good. I’ll start selling it right away, but this angle should be more like this... Dan’s Son Rick: Yeah, you’re right! Go Dad! Griff: I’ll see you later, Rick. I’m sure you’ll be a great man like your father is in no time. Dan’s Son Rick: Wait a sec. Take this! I’m sure it’ll help you out! Griff: Whoa, this is something else. Dan’s Son Rick: Right! I put everything I had into it! The super limited edition – Jaboa!! Griff: Rick, you’re quite the craftsman. I’ll put this to good use. (Upon leaving the area) Saribash: Ready to go? (Select YES) Saribash: Alright, let’s move out! Joyce: So, where exactly are we going? Saribash: Follow me and find out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 26 - Giant Factory ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 26 [IN26] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SUPPLY UNIT CAMP: June 25, 2102 - 4:00 AM Pike: The Revolutionary Army wasn’t supposed to have possession of a space-capable rocket. It must have been Intergehen that launched it. Sayuri: So, Intergehen was set up right here all along... Griff: But, they won’t have any unmanned weapons that FENRIR can control, right? Lisa: It’s the possibility that FENRIR will take control of other artificial satellites that is frightening. That is, of course, if FENRIR is on board that rocket. Roswell: So, how can we stop FENRIR if it’s been launched up into space? Pike: The system can only be activated by a human operator. Isn’t that right, Lisa? Saribash: So, that operator would be Ven? Lisa: I really can’t imagine that... Pike: But, it did seem like he knew who would be operating the system. Thomas: Whatever the case, we have to take down Ven. Saribash, do you know where Ven will be hiding? Saribash: Yeah... It’s an old Alordesh military munitions dump. But, you guys... Thomas: Hey, stop right there. You should know that this is unfinished business for us too. Saribash: ...Alright. (Move to the Equipment Booth) Mechanic: I’ve got a top rate password here for you. It’s for the Kirishima Heavy Industries site. Kirishima has one heck of a site, so please go check it out. (Address: KIRISIMA) (Talk to the Mechanic again) Mechanic: This area used to be a heavy industry zone. But as the recession caused factories to rust out, one by one all the inhabitants left. Now this is the most run down part of the country... (Upon leaving the area) Joyce: Do you think that Ven can be persuaded to surrender, Saribash? Saribash: I’ll do what I can. But that guy is just as stubborn as I am, so... Joyce: Lila...she said...that you loved Ven as a boy just as much as you loved her. Saribash: ......she said that, huh...... Joyce: Do you hate him? Saribash: I can hate Ven for the sake of all the people who have died in this coup d’etat. However, at the same time, I also love him like my own son... If someone has to kill Ven, I’ll do it... Joyce: Saribash... Saribash: It’s ironic. Whether I hate him or love him, I have to carry on fighting him. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 27 - Alordesh Munitions Dump ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 27 [IN27] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SUPPLY UNIT CAMP: June 25, 2012 - 2:00 PM Saribash: Lila... Lila: ... Amia: Her injuries have been properly treated. Joyce: Will she regain consciousness? Amia: I can’t tell here. She’ll need to be examined at a hospital... Thomas: Well then, let’s get her to one. Roswell: Buttt...What about FENRIR? Ven didn’t have the activation device for it. Saribash: I’ll leave FENRIR to the O.C.U. Lisa, contact the O.C.U. and request an attack on Intergehen. Ash: Saribash! Saribash: I understand how you feel. But even so, without the strength of the O.C.U., we won’t be able to do this. Ash: ... Lisa: Alright, I’ll contact General Chang-Jang directly on satellite phone and get him to issue the order. (Communicate with General Chang-Jang) Chang-Jang: Are you alright, Captain? Lisa: Yes, I’m fine sir, but more importantly... Chang-Jang: I know. We have a lock on the satellite carrying FENRIR already. Lisa: Well then, shouldn’t you fire an anti-satellite missile at it... Chang-Jang: That won’t be necessary. The FENRIR launch is going exactly according to plan. Lisa: What...did you just say? Chang-Jang: Lisa, evacuate from Alordesh immediately. The official test will begin soon. Lisa: Test? Chang-Jang: Once you return, I’ll explain everything. You need to hurry back here... Lisa: General!! General!! ............ Sayuri: What...was the General talking about...? Roswell: B-b-b-boss! T-t-this is bad! E-e-enemies are inbound! Thomas: Enemies!? Didn’t we already destroy the entire Revolutionary Army!? Lisa: !! Intergehen... Joyce: Intergehen is attacking? Amia: What do we do? Thomas: All we can do is drive them back!! Saribash! Let me lead the attack! Saribash: Alright. But I’m coming too! (Upon leaving the area) Thomas: Alright, is everyone ready!? (Select YES) Thomas: Let’s move out! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 28 - Riverbank Forest ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 28 [IN28] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SUPPLY UNIT CAMP: Lisa: There’s no doubt about it. FENRIR was launched in order to conduct field testing here in Alordesh. Amia: Field testing? Lisa: A test of whether FENRIR’s automated units could prevail over an army of manned units. Maylan: So our coup d’etat... Pike: ...was a red herring to allow for FENRIR’s launch preparations. Lisa: And if FENRIR was thought to be created and launched by the Revolutionary Army, no one would suspect the O.C.U.’s role... Pike: And so a test of the O.C.U. military versus FENRIR is about to begin. Right here in Alordesh! Thomas: Then once the test is over FENRIR and the Revolutionary Army will have been disposed of, and all evidence of the truth will have been perfectly erased...I’ve never heard of such a terrible plot! Rocky: Isn’t there something we can do...? Ash: Let’s head for the rocket launch site. Maybe there’s something we can do there. Saribash: Enough!! Thomas: Saribash... Saribash: It’s enough...you guys have done enough now...so just hurry up and get out of Alordesh... Ash: ... Lisa: In any case, I’ll contact the Monto. They might know something about what FENRIR is doing... (Communicate with the Monto Aircraft Carrier) O.C.U. Soldier: Just a moment ago, we received a declaration of war from an unidentified force. Forces from the O.C.U. bases we’ve liberated and scrambled forces from the South China Sea Fleet are planned to respond to the threat. Lisa: The South China Sea Fleet...This is too big... Saribash: ... O.C.U. Soldier: We’ve confirmed through aerial reconnaissance that the enemy possesses a massive force. Even the number of forces we’re despatching might not be enough to handle it. (Communicate with O.C.U. Intelligence) ...... Sayuri: It seems like all the satellite lines are down. (Upon leaving the area) Saribash: Anyhow, you guys should hurry up and get the hell out of here. Thomas: What are you going to do? Saribash: I’ll return to the capital and try to build up its defenses. I’ll also help people flee the country. I might not make it in time though... Ash: I’m not giving up! I made a promise to Ven! I’ll stop that damn FENRIR!! Saribash: Forget it! It’s not worth stopping if you have to die to do it! Thomas: Well, see ya later then. Hey, Rocky, Roswell, get ready to launch an attack. Saribash: Thomas!! Lisa: Send an email to General Chang-Jang saying "We’re heading to Intergehen’s headquarters." Saribash: Lisa, you too... Thomas: Gwahaha, Saribash! It looks like you’ve lost this one! Lisa: It’s my duty to stop FENRIR. Don’t get in my way. Ash: Listen to us, Saribash. Saribash: Yeah...Yeah! I won’t stop ya! ...I’ll thank ya! Thanks, everyone. Joyce: If that’s decided, then let’s get ready for battle!! Are your preparations complete? (Select YES) Joyce: Alright! Time to move out!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 29 - Intergehen Factory ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 29 [IN29] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERGEHEN FACTORY INTERIOR: Ash: Saribash! Are you alright? Saribash: Y-yeah, aside from a bit of a cold sweat. Amia: It doesn’t seem like the automated units are following us in. Pike: But, we still don’t have any idea what lies inside. (Upon choosing Load or Save) Saribash: There’s no turning back from here! Are you ready for this!? (Talk to Saribash) Saribash: You done one helluva job up until here. Here’s a bonus of 50,000. (Choose to head to the Factory Center) Thomas: Alright, you ready to go face the Big Kahuna? (Select YES) Thomas: Alright! Let’s move!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SPECIAL EVENT 16 - The Truth Behind the Alordesh Coups ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERGEHEN FACTORY INTERIOR: Thomas: The Big Kahuna has shown himself! Let’s get ready for battle! (Choose to attack) Thomas: Alright, prepped and ready? (Select YES) Thomas: I want to see everyone come back from this one alive! Now let’s go! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 30 - Intergehen Factory Interior ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERMISSION 30 [IN30] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SPECIAL EVENT 17 - Reflections ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ O.C.U. AIRCRAFT CARRIER "MONTO": Joyce: Ash! Ash: We gotta hurry!! Gather up the machines we’ve got onboard!! Amia: I got it! (Move to the Hangar) Lisa: The inbound units are transport helicopters and VTOL attack craft! Cordy: There’s no time! Hurry up and get ready!! (Return to the Hallway) Thomas: Let’s hurry!! The enemy are almost here!! Are you ready? (Select YES) Ash: Thomas! Who the hell are these guys? Thomas: Beats me. But since they aren’t friendlies, we’ve gotta fight!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MISSION 31 - O.C.U. Amia: I was wondering if we were going to be locked up in the Monto. Pike: Looks like the pressure I was able to call in from the CIU worked. But, I think that’s about all it’s going to buy us. Lisa: You guys should get ready to leave here too. Rocky: You gonna go on the run? Lisa: No way! I’m going to work with Pike to blow this thing open. Pike: That’s right. Pike: I might have to ask you guys to take the stand as witnesses. Pike: I know all this is a lot to ask, but make sure the O.C.U. gets a chance to take you out. Ash: Yeah, we’ll watch our backs. Sayuri: Lisa, Pike! We’re ready to go! Lisa: Well then, I guess this is goodbye. Pike: See you later. Ash: Yeah, see ya. Thomas: ...They’re tough buggers. Joyce: You too. Thomas: Yeah, of course!! Gwahahaha! Rocky: Ash...ah...you want to go for a drink...? ...As friends. Ash: Yeah! Let’s go! Amia: But, don’t we have to find somewhere to hide? Thomas: Ah, we’ll figure that out over a few beers! Roswell: That’s right, Miss Amia. Roswell: Like your lovely eyelashes surrounding your beauteous eye, I will always protect you... Amia: Hey! Get lost!! Joyce: He suits you, Amia! Amia: Shut up!! Thomas: Gwahaha! Stupid bastard never gives up! Griff: Hey, Ash. You gonna make good on that promise to come meet my wife in Japan? Griff: What is it? Ash? Ash: I couldn’t find a way to stay in Alordesh. Griff: Yeah, I know it’s tough. But, there are just some things you’ve got to do. Ash: I wonder if I’ll ever be able to go back there...And whether they’ll ever take me in... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ FULL MOTION VIDEO 02 - O.C.U.
