Saga Frontier 2 introduces a complete renovation of the RPG genre. Traditional computer polygonal fixtures are replaced with lush, hand-drawn watercolor graphics supported by an awe-inspiring musical score. Blending both freedom and linearity, this title utilizes the Multi-Scenario System giving players unparalleled freedom in choosing which scenario they want to play while other scenarios crisscross with one another. Complementing this feature are three innovative battle modes: Duel, Team, and Strategic. Depending upon the mode selected, the player can control and individual character, a team, or several units to fight in battles, bringing depth and precision to the combat sequences. To enhance the gameplay, SaGa Frontier 2 features DUALSHOCK analog controller compatibility along with other exciting innovations that are sure to please many fans of this genre.

C'est dommage que la critique ne parle pas des DEUX scénarios, celui de Gustave XIII et celui de Will Knights, qui sont intimement liés l'un à l'autre. C'est dommage, aussi, qu'elle ne parle pas du système de descendants... Et du système de jeux et de combats... Et de la différence entre le scénario de Gustave, plus centré sur les conflits géopolitiques, et celui de Will, plus axé aventures "classiques", avec donjons, monstres, trésors, tout ça... Et puis parlons aussi des graphismes somptueux entièrement dessinés à la main à l'aquarelle et de la bande-son extraordinaire.

 

Bref, ce jeu mérite bien plus que 15/20. Un bon 19. Facile.
